Ted Greenberg is so funny! Aside from the hilarious jokes, magic tricks and his own half times show (complete with mascot), you can win a free cab ride home from Ted himself! Ted does it all and the audience LOVES it! I've seen this show three times and I plan on going back in May! It's really a great show to bring people visiting from out of town. The Soho playhouse is a great intimate venue and Ted makes the show so memorable. He and his mascot will take pictures with everyone after the show and if you win the cab ride he puts a vid of the ride on youtube. I want to win so bad! The thing I also appreciate about the show is the amount of effort and love that has clearly gone into it. As I said, I've been to the show a few times and it is a well oiled machine. Clearly lots of painstaking work went into making sure the show goes smoothly and each gag is carried out to perfection. Ted gives himself completely to the audience and he clearly loves performing. I saw this play in the late 80 early 90s when ted wrote it. I assume it is not changed much. At the time ted was my brother in law and ace my farther in law for 13 years. I hated ace, but actually felt sorry for him. He invited friends and family to opening night, not knowing that the play showed real resentment of his dad. The play painted an accurate picture of ace who was a cold pompus ass. He said little and i found myself very uncomfortable watching it. Ted was a very strange awkard man with many issues concerning his parents, he had a good heart, and i felt sorry for him. I was a partner and ran the family specliast firm J. Streicher & com. On the floor of the new york and american stock exchange for 42 years. I know what it is like to have a very successfull family member to answer to. I was luckier than ted because even though my grandfarther was very rich & successfull he loved me deary, and showed it daily even if critizing my trading. ted was not so lucky. not once in 13 years did i ever here allen greenberg tell either of his children that he loved them. Intimate and goofy, The Complete Performer is a brilliant cacophony of witty banter, tickling magic, and silly costumes. This show is a party thrown in the coziest theater in SoHo. Grab a drink from the bar in the back of the theater, take a seat (at the bar, if you wish!), and get ready to shout, laugh, and probably make some friends! Interactive is an understatement; The Complete Performer is a show that could not live without an audience. It thrives on and multiplies fun until next thing you know, you're at a party with the silliest, zaniest, wackiest host in New York City and his ridiculously hilarious sidekick (great dancer, too!). My boyfriend and I saw The Complete Performer after dinner on a Saturday night. BEST DECISION EVER. He usually isn't into audience participation, but I swear by the end of the show he was ready to jump on stage! At the end of the show, Ted and his mascot give someone a free cab ride home. A HYSTERICAL show not to be missed! If you like to laugh, be surprised, and/or be engaged in the entertainment when you seek out a new adventure, then Ted Greenberg's "The Complete Performer" is the show for you! How incredible is it to see a show that is designed around the audience?! I could see "The Complete Performer" over and over again because the material would be fresh and FUNNY each time. Ted is quick on his feet and a master of improvisation. By the way, I won the cab ride home!!! Until the last minute of the show, I thought the cab ride home was a gag. Went with three friends. All of us enjoyed ourselves. Full disclosure: we won the ride home -- in a cab driven by Ted! It's possible that biased my opinion slightly. But on the other hand it also brought home how authentic the show and Ted are. He was just as engaging and funny behind the wheel as he was on stage -- if in a more intimate manner. Why 4 stars and not 5? Everyone else here is giving 5 stars and I don't want it to seem like we're all friends of Ted's in on some puff job. And I want to manage your expectations. Ted is a wild man, and puts on a great show. So stupendous in fact I've seen it three times over the last couple of years. What a riot! I've brought friends from Italy and New Yorkers too. Everyone has loved the show despite not knowing what they were getting themselves into. It's so New York. The show is hard to describe because there is surprise after surprise, and I don't want to give those away. But I can say that there is really a cab ride home. Too much fun. Ted Greenberg has you laughing from start to finish. There's a great laidback vibe going on in the theater that has everyone wanting to get involved - and Ted makes sure that happens! By the end of the night it felt like the whole theater knew each other (the last time I went I actually ended up hanging out with some of the other audience members afterwards). Absolutely brilliant show! My friends and I laughed all night!! Hands down the best improv we've ever seen in New York. We loved that the audience was a part of the show. Ted's energy is contagious - There's even a mascot with wicked dance moves and a very big head. Hillarious that the Emmy-winning comic Ted Greenberg himself drives the winning audience members home in a yellow taxi. Original and creative in every way. I've seen this show three times in total and every time I notice things I didn't notice before. It's absolutely hysterical and unique and weird and impressive. Saw the show last night for the third time and laughed as hard as the first. It's just diabolically delightful, insanely, hysterically silly. All this in a funky basement bar lounge in Way-West SoHo. Took my girlfriend to see this show last weekend. We had no idea what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised by the show. A good fun night. We saw it at the Soho Playhouse - a fun off broadway venue on Vandam street. He does magic, improv, awards and many more fun surprises.
