I have eaten @ Teddy Jack's for the last time. Ate there last night, group of 4. First thing I noticed was that the menus that were handed to us were filthy, you could see & feel the grime/food all over. I should have left then. Out of the 4 of us, 2 ordered fried catfish & fried shrimp. By the end of the evening we were both sick I have noticed the service, cleanliness & service has fallen off. No more... there are too many places in Amarillo to eat. I am done with Teddy Jack's. read more

Went on Sunday 03/22/26. We were greeted and immediately sat at a clearly dirty table with food on the table and on the seats. We were handed silverware wrapped in white napkins that also were dirty and not fresh looking. Took awhile to be greeted, turned out the young lady was in the bathroom, TMI, maybe next time get someone to cover for her. Our server was nice but inexperienced. Asked for a recommendation on the drink menu but he couldn't because he said he wasn't old enough to drink. The table had a ad tent saying sign up for free appetizer so I did and asked the server about it. He confirmed that was the case so we ordered an appetizer but when the bill came only a portion was discounted on the appetizer. The server apologized as he didn't know. Overall liked the feel and appearance of the service floor. Noticeable flies and knats made sitting in our booth irritating and annoying. Food... everything cooked ok and presented ok but nothing I would want to order again or want to return for. Definitely lacking a passion for creating great food and dining experience. Came here after service late in the evening. They were slowing down, but were nice and seated us quickly. We got they're 2 of the trio chips and dip. The queso and salsa were really good, but the guacamole was excellent. I ordered the chimichanga with their version of barbacoa, covered in queso. I have to say, it was WAY better than I expected. Went in Sunday evening, the place was half full. We were seated ,10 minutes went by, not even a drink order. After 15, we asked one of the many workers at the pizza bar area who were having a good time chatting if someone could take our order. She smiled and said ok, five more minted go buy, now we are sitting at 20 minutes without even water. We walked across the street to Texas rose, which had twice the people eating, and were served drinks within 5 minutes, and had our food writhing 20, which mean we were eating in a shorter amount of time than we sat without even ordering at Teddy Jacks. When they are busy, this has more grace, when they are friendly, even more. We had neither. As someone who frequents this place a few times a month, I am sour enough to not return. read more

The last several times I've eaten there the papas with the Chimi I always get taste like they used soured milk in them. The staff is hit / miss when we dine in - but I normally have a good experience when I order and pick up. My family loves their burgers - I am not a fan of their burgers. Their pizza and other items are good. I love going with groups there because there is a high vibe atmosphere and the menu has such a variety of food so everyone can find something that they like. My only negative really is the high stools - for some of us who have injuries or up there in years - those high stools are really difficult to navigate. read more

We had not been to Teddy Jack's for about 6 months. We had always given them good reviews as we always enjoyed going there. We went for lunch after church today 1/14/24. It has went downhill as far as customer service is concerned. The food was good and our waitress was great. Our issue was with the girl from the checkin desk. After we were seated and waiting for our waitress, my husband asked the hostess if it was possible to change the music as it was almost ghetto type music. It may have been okay for a younger Friday or Saturday night crowd, but after church older folks! Even old rock and roll would have been better. All we wanted was something that wouldn't give you a headache. She brought a girl from the front desk to our table, who informed us that they have it on a station and don't control what is played (funny no ads or dj). She said we could move to the back room and play music on the box back there. We shrugged and said oh ok. Umm, no we did not wish to do that. When we left we stopped at the front desk and I said the music did get softer, not so bad. My husband told her we would not be back to be treated so rudely when she said we could move to the back room and play music on the box. She then said oh you wouldn't have to move there and the music would play out here too, and she didn't mean to be rude. Sorry but she did not tell us that when she said we could move to the back room. We really did not want to complain or cause a problem so we just said must have been a misunderstanding. At the same time another young woman popped in and tried shooing us off interjecting a couple of times you have a nice day. I ended with, you may want to be more aware of your clientele when it comes to things like the music you play. We did wonder if they have it set on a station, how will the music people select in the back play out in the main dining area too? Oh well. While I enjoyed my cocktail and trio dip... I decided not to order any food based on the fact that an employee was NOT wearing gloves while making a pizza. God only knows the germs harbored in his wedding wearing and bracelet. Proceeded to watch him walk around the outer kitchen touching equipment then picked up a dirty rag to clean something...then touched a dirty order screen that all employees use ... only to go back and put his dirty hands into the pizza dough bin to make another pizza! The food isn't the problem here it's the service. When we entered four people were at hostess station talking, took awhile for them to acknowledge us. The waiter took our drink and food order and got our food fast but he never asked us how our food was or refilled our drinks. He finally came by asked us were we ready for our check no would you like something else or our drinks refilled. After about 15 minutes I asked hostess if she could get our check because our waiter was to busy entertaining a table of people he acted like he knew. We also observed a man who we thought was the manager. He walked by us several times never asking us how everything was. Eh. The best part was the service I think, our drinks were filled and we were always checked on, and the ranch was good! We went in as a group of 8. I got a burger, the meat was way smaller than the bun, and the burger as a whole didn't have much flavor. The bacon was good and the avocado was fresh though. Made reservations for my husbands birthday on a Monday morning for the following Friday night @7 (St Patrick's day) for a 10-12 top in the back bar area. we all arrived before 7 to be told they didn't have our table available. We waited for over an hour and continuously was told 15-20 more mins. we finally took the initiative to walk over to a large party leaving and asked the wait staff if they could clean the table for us. It was up front, but we were ready to eat by this time. we missed the bands, and not a manager or hostess ever came to apologize or check to see if we had gotten taken care of. Well I don't know where the lower stars come from for this spot. It is great. I'm no Noob to eating out and ordering burgers. This place with its background music with a mix of classic and modern rock. Not to loud but just enough for you to know it is in the background. Kid and family friendly with a super wait staff. They were on point. I ordered the black and blue burger doubled. It almost beat me. It was seasoned and set up perfectly. Cooked on point. My daughter had Gouda burger and she was in heaven. Oh and the fried mushrooms that canoe out were huge and more then enough for a party of 4-5. It was just the two of us. I definitely recommend this place for a great experience and good food. My family treated me to a meal before I headed back home. Helped myself to a double-double with gouda cheese instead of American and topped it off with bacon and fried onions. Came with a side of crispy, tasty onion rings and I ordered a chilly draft beer for good measure. Service was slow for 4pm (my folks are older, so they tend to eat earlier), and my burger was cold when it arrived to the table. So was my beer, though, and the onion rings made all forgiven. I was also impressed that the bun held up to the enormity of toppings I put on it! Overall my burger was good, but as I mentioned the beef was cold and surprisingly not seasoned (salt & pepper, anyone?).
