If you want to watch football in Rapid, Teddy's is definitely the place to go! When I lived in SD I used to go to Teddy's every other weekend to watch games. I'm a Bears fan and there are always other Bears fans there, so we generally get a big screen to ourselves to drink beer and eat good food and watch a game. The place is huge and there are TV's all over the place so you can get by watching a couple of games at a time. I've never been there to watch any other sports, but I'm sure it's the same. The staff is really friendly and cool and they'll put a TV on whatever you want (well, as long as it's sports . . .). The food is pretty good. I noticed that sometimes the nachos were good and sometimes they were fair. The inferno wings are REALLY hot. The chicken sandwich isn't bad. But the best thing is that if you hit it during happy hour (which you most likely will during a game), you get big discounts. The beer here is good. They carry a few of my faves but the selection isn't top notch. But the bartenders are super cool and friendly and that is what I like. The place is HUGE. Two sets of bathrooms which makes it great when it's busy and it's always clean. There's several pool tables and dart games and such. And if you like dancing, the other half of the bar is dance club. It's hoppin' on Fri/Sat nights. That's not really my scene though and I prefer the sports bar side. I really miss Sunday's at Teddy's now that I'm back in CA. Weekend nights are fun. Pool tables not hard to get on, drinks are served quickly, but I did have one bad experience that ruined it for me. The beer pong tournements. A friend of mine was playing in one. Being as that he is there every weekend, the staff knew him pretty well. They knew he was military and had orders to leave soon. Same guy made it to the finals of this beer pong tournement, before the game started, the ref gave the winnings to the other team because they were also usuals. When my friend asked why, they replied, "because you have orders and want them to come back." This was just an uncomfortable experience. The bouncers Enders up exhorting out friend that didn't want to dance with this reta of u on the floor, mind you, he was completely sober and waiting for the rest us that weren't dancing, I watched our DD get exhorted out because he wasn't drunk enough! Great drink specials and the bartenders are really friendly. Reason I only give this a 3 star is because of the crowd it attracts. Between this and Budds, this bar draws the rowdy type that seem to want to start fights. DJ is an awesome guy and plays really good music. Great place to watch UFC fights. read more

My husband & I moved to Rapid City ~ 1.5 yrs ago & visited Teddy's a few times. The bar itself is very impressive and great TV's for the sports. We were there just last night and they still have not gotten rid of the cig smoke smell. It's prob still in the carpet & they haven't bothered to replace it or even clean it. I used to kind of like going here. However, my most recent experience has left me with no drive to ever go back and I am definitely complaining to the manager. I was treated just fine by the bartenders. It was tough to get a drink because of how busy it was but I understood that and the courtesy was more than enough reason to show patience. However, upon preparing to leave and the bar closing down, there was the most disrespectful security guard I have ever encountered in my life. My friends and I had maybe 2 quick swigs of our drinks left but the guy stood over us for a good 7 minutes, just at our table and nowhere else. I politely asked him if he could step a bit further away, he was making us uncomfortable like we weren't wanted and we were finishing our drinks in a timely manner. We were not loud nor were we belligerent but I'm damn sure going to drink every last drop of my hard earned money. He stood over us saying that we were supposed to be out by now and that if we wanted to "act that way" he was going to take our drinks from our hands. After I asked "why would you do that? I'm just politely asking for space. As a woman, you are making me feel uncomfortable". He proceeded to be disrespectful until we left and I heard him tell my boyfriend to "get your woman in check" and a comment of a "muzzle" was mentioned. I understand a hard night of work and I understand rude customers. I was respectful in my requests but he was the nastiest and most unprofessional employees I have ever encountered in my life.
