Ted's is a very good sports shoe store.. while it has a limited amount of different labels it has enough to choose from. It feels like an old fashioned shoe store with its service.. Helpful with picking shoes, even puts them on your feet, and check out. I was looking to get fitted for hiking boots and inserts and the employee that helped me was awesome! He was very young but very informative and knowledgeable as well as listened to what I was looking for and my concerns. I ended up with a pair of merrels and arch support inserts which have been very comfortable and the arch support inserts have been amazing! Not to mention they were the same price with the extra inserts then just the boots I was looking at! I'll definitely be returning for any other fitment needs! read more

I recently started a treadmill regimen and immediately aggravated minor nueropathy in my foot. My son and daughter-in-law sent me to Ted's for new shoes. I walked into a busy store and was waited on immediately by Ted himself. He asked what I was interested in, I explained my situation and what I was doing with treadmill. He measured both feet and came up with a few options for my 12-EEEE feet, with no attempt to upsell anything we came to the pair of running shoes that almost seemed sculpted to my foot,and felt like walking on pillows. A little pricey, but well worth the comfort. you won't find these at Walmart or target. in my mind well worth the money! Since my last review, I would just like to report that Ted's is awesome. I went in and did the whole experience of having my feet measured and buying new shoes. My feet are so much happier now. I've been buying shoes online with a pro deal for so long that I forgot how many other shoe companies are out there. I've gotta say..I knew Ted was an expert shoe fitter, but I didn't realize the extent. While I did grow up in NH, the Monadnock region, I've since moved to WA state, and occasionally will still purchase things from Ted's from time to time. In my...middle age (is 39 middle aged yet?)...I've developed a spine condition which is pretty gnarly and I need REALLY good footwear otherwise I'm a mess. And I was on the market for new walking sneaks. With COVID-19 preventing me from going anywhere, and understanding fully the importance of getting a proper fit, I messaged Ted about his virtual fit process. It was all really simple. I sent him a bunch of pictures if my feet and answered a few quick questions and Ted knew exactly what would work and sent me a few options. The coolest part by far was hearing ted tell me about my feet and that I probably injured my ankle at some point, which I'm sure I did. I'm super stoked to get my new kicks in the mail this week. We were greeted by Taylor as soon as we walked through the door. We needed sneakers for myself, my husband and my teenage son. I also needed sandals. I came in looking to replace my favourite hiking shoes that had finally died. The person who helped me was very attentive and friendly, and actually measured my feet! Nobody's done that in years. She was also knowledgeable enough to tell by looking that I have wide feet. You'd think that would be kinda easy, but then you'd be surprised. Anyway, she came back with shoes for me to try on and pretty much had the sizing exact - accounting for the fact that different shoe companies run large or small. This is, by far, my favorite store for shoes and running supplies. I started running and my ankle was always hurting. My sister recommended this store to see what type of shoe I should be using for running. I went in and they asked me to simply walk down the aisle. Immediately they could tell that I had flat feet and gave me shoes that would help me run and eliminate the pain. I was a little doubtful at first but it worked! Now, when I need shoes, I travel to my sisters to go back to this store. I also found that they have balega socks (if you run and haven't tried these, they are a must) and great running gear. Was up visiting my son at Keene State and decided to take advantage of the tax free shopping and get a pair of shoes for my 9 year old son. As one of the previous messages said I couldn't find prices either. I looked in the shoe, on the bottom, and even on the ones that were in boxes. They only ones I could find with prices were the ones in front of the bathroom. I also found it difficult to get anyones attention to help me or even make eye contact with me. I asked two people if someone could help me and all I got was "I'm with someone..." Not I will find someone to help you or anything. About 5 minutes later another guy walked in and suddenly two people dropped what they were doing to help him. I guess you have to be a regular to get help here. read more

I give very few places 5 stars. I'm not picky, but to get 5 stars from me a place REALLY has to go above & beyond & not need ANY improvements. Ted's is one of those places! My physical therapist recommended this place to me. I was professionally fitted for running shoes here. This seems to be a dying art (the only other place I know that does this just as well is Alec's in Downtown Nashua) but they know their stuff at Ted's & I couldn't be happier. The gentleman who helped me was helpful, professional, fast, & friendly. I will be back! Re: the reviewer who complained that the prices are not on their shoes: if you ask, they know the prices off the top of their heads. The point is to get you into a shoe that is perfect for your foot, not just getting you into the cheapest shoe. If you want cheap shoes, go to Wal-Mart. read more

There should be s six star option for Ted's. They are incredibly knowledgeable and will fit you with the correct shoe. They won't sell you crap you don't need or try to push something trendy on you. I went in recently the day before I left for a walking-intensive trip and my New Balance 993s were very suddenly causing problems. I was fully prepared to buy a new pair of shoes and/or orthotics, but they simply tweaked the fit of my orthotics (which were close to a year old) by reheating and trimming and sorted me out without charging me a penny. They are worth a significant drive. The only place that comes close (but is more strictly running-oriented) is Marathon Sports in Boston. read more

Excellent, no-nonsense, non-patronizing, quick service. Great selection of running shoes. Greg (I think?) got me the perfect shoe for my needs and my budget. Was honest and friendly and humble. Frankly I'm not used to being treated so well by a young man in a sports store as a non-jock woman. Pile of toys in the corner for my kiddo was excellent, but the shoe in the bubbling fish tank held kid's attention even more. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an excellent shoe. I rarely write a "yelp review"as I prefer to call and speak directly with the owner of a business. However, my most recent experience at Ted's has prompted me to to both! Since having surgery on my foot five years ago ,I wouldn't consider going anywhere else!All the staff is trained to "fit" those of us with particular issues..in fact, on one occasion Ted called my foot surgeon to "consult" before selling me my shoes. They have also ordered sandals for me that they don't usually carry based on my fitting, and will gladly order several sizes of a running shoe if it isn't in stock. Most recently, "Thomas" was the sales person who fitted my sneakers and he was extremely professional, knowledgable , and so polite. I would absolutely recommend Ted's to everyone- amazing service, products, and great selection ...always a pleasant experience. Thanks! read more

Stuck up college kids! Went into Teds to find a pair of sneakers. I am not an avid runner or a triathlete. I just wanted a good pair of shoes. It was a Sunday and there were two kids working (girl and boy). No one was in the store so I thought I would of been helped quickly. NOT! The girl was left to answer the phone while the guy played a game on his phone. When I asked for help he just looked at me and huffed. After 5 minutes of getting really no help I said I was leaving and taking my business elsewhere... He just looked at me, smiled and said "Have a nice day!" and said something under his breath. If you see a guy with wavy dark hair, skinny and about 5"10" working there... just walk out because you ain't getting any help. read more

Now, first of all I want you all to know that this is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review for anything ( not even when Amazon e-mails me a link to do so) so the fact I'm doing this says a lot (and I have to sign up to post this, and will)! About a week ago I wondered into Ted's and was friendly welcomed by the sales staff (Ivan, I was so impressed with my experience I made sure to get a few business cards and the name of the gentleman that assisted me) I then explained to him that I was looking for a very specific style of shoe and instead of pointing to the wall or the general area of the shoes, like I'm used to, he actually took the time to listen to what exactly I was looking for, sat me down, measured my feet, and said wait right here I have a couple ideas to try, about a minute went by, and Ivan had returned with not only one option but a couple for me to try on and all in the right size, which to me as a particular person left out that awkward feeling of having to ask the associate to continue running back and forth for different sizes or styles. At no point in what I will now refer to as "my visit" to Ted's did I feel anything but real customer service. Like I said I never take time to do this sort of thing but I was literally blown away with the professionalism of the Ted's staff, I purchased a hundred dollar pair of shoes and was made to feel like I was buying a new home! I will never buy shoes anywhere else again! On on a side note, while in there another of Ted's staff was assisting a woman in selling her a custom fit brace or shoe for her daughter who was injured. These guys and gals really go the extra step. Do yourself a service, check Ted's the next time your looking for shoes. read more

very upset. I have diabetic neuropathy (which I told the salesman) but they had only one ugly black shoe for neuropathy. I then asked if there were any sandals that would work and he said yes and sold me a pair. When I got them home, I put them on and walked across the living room rug just 3 times. The straps cut into my sensitive feet and inflamed them and they swelled up. I took the shoes back 3 days later but they would only give me a store refund. There was a small sign by the cash register which stated this but I hadn't seen it and no one had told me. Because of my neuropathy there was not anything else in the store I could buy. I feel sick about this. I did finally special order some beige neuropathy shoes for $140 (which haven't come yet) but if they also don't work I'll be out even more money. I would notrecommend that anyone go there unless they can be absolutely sure that they wouldn't have to return the shoes. read more
