We loved our lunch, the atmosphere and the staff! We were traveling from Denver to Santa Fe and wanted to stop and wanted to investigate the town of Trinidad. We had stayed overnight a couple years back on a roadtrip to Santa Fe. We arrived at lunchtime and were intrigued by this place. We liked the history of the place and the homey comfort. Stopped for some sandwiches to go on our way south. My club sandwich was perfection. TONS of turkey and ham, soft bread, all around excellent. Came with a bag of Lays and a pickle - quite a deal compared to Denver prices. My boyfriend had a hot ham and Swiss which he seemed really happy with, and a cookie which he talked about for the next 100miles south. I wasn't sure about a restaurant that also sold T-shirts but the inside is really neat with old 1870's hotel ceiling and yes tee shirts. Wait staff super friendly and fast service. I have never felt so unwelcome in a dining atmosphere. The food was fine but in no way justified the rude behavior & off-hand remarks from the time we stepped inside. I'm still mad at myself for sitting through a meal when it was perfectly clear that (who I'm assuming to be) the owner would've rather we kept walking by. Typically, I wouldn't take the time to write a review for something that can happen anywhere (backed up kitchen, extended wait times, etc) but his attitude & demeanor were unacceptable. In the heart of Trinidad, this sandwich shop nestled in the back of a cute souvenir store is truly a place to visit. While on our way back home, we decided to stop there, mainly because they make a Rueben with actual homemade Russian dressing. They also have plenty of vegetarian options and delicious soups! Everyone was very happy with their meals- no complaints. The food came out perfectly hot, and they didn't skimp on the meat, cheese, and veggies that go on their sandwiches. Not to mention every sandwich was DELICIOUS. Not just that, but the store owners are kind and easy to talk to. You can tell they care about the food and the shop (the chef's passion makes me think about the passion Bob in Bob's Burgers has for his food). We will definitely be stopping here again during our next trip in Trinidad! read more

This place is PERFECT if you're on a long road trip and just can't do fast food anymore. Located on Main Street, Tees Me Treat Me looks to be run by nice couple who happily accommodated my kiddos' tastes in foods. We sat out on the courtyard which had plenty of shade. While you eat, take a second to take in the really cool, rustic building and mural of aspen trees. The food: The ham and Swiss panini was super yummy and BIG! My husband recommends the turkey and green chili panini. We will be coming back next time we come through Trinidad! read more

I choose this place on a whim, and I am so glad I did! The service was exceptional! The food was phenomenal! My kid noticed a whole in the antique tin ceiling. I looked up and said, "Wow, that looks like a bullet hole." Then I read a little non-discript plaque on the wall. The shop/restaurant is in what used to be the Columbian Hotel built in 1879. The hole in the ceiling is credited to Bat Masterson. Lot of history, not sure how much of it is true, but it made the already quaint ambiance warm and charming. read more

For celiacs they will toast your sandwich inside foil to avoid cross-contamination. They have lovely peaceful courtyard in back - you have to go down an alley that has metal sculptures (see photos) to get to the courtyard. Extensive coffee and Italian soda drink menu. This place was very awesome to see, with bullet holes in the ceiling from people like Doc Holliday. The staff were awesome and very knowledgeable about the town. The staff wore masks and gloves to ensure everyone's safety. Great mom and pop place where everything is home made and delicious. When the weather is nice we love the intimate "secret" outdoor patio and let Craig cook us up a burger. Stopped for lunch this week & got there when they were busy. All the tables were packed so I sat at the bar. The lady (owner?) explained that they were a bit backed up & apologized. She took my order & got me a beer. I had a double IPA from a Colorado brewery which was pretty good but the sandwich was to die for. I had the Ruben pastrami sandwich which was the best I've ever had. I also liked that the place was clean & had good music. They have interesting artwork on the wall so I asked about it & her husband came out to talk to me. Turns out that he's a fly fisherman & ties his own flies. the artwork is made up of tied flies but put together very artistic. They were really nice people & the food was so good. Our salads were good. We asked for a side of sliced avocado and bread. The avocado was bad - strange color, texture and taste. We asked the server to take it off our bill. She brought the manager out to show her how to do it. He was rude and abrupt. Wouldn't even look at us, and made a snarky comment about "no more special orders. If it's not on the menu, we won't serve it." The problem wasn't the special order. It was bad produce. We won't be going back. Wow!
