We finally decided to look for a new dentist and I found Dr. Miller and his office online and then got a mailer from them the next day. So we called and made appointments for the next week, expecting the worst. We were extremely surprised. The office is very nice and the people, including Dr. Miller, are even nicer. There was no lecture, they laid things out for us and prioritized what we needed to do, and the communication is great. My hygienist, Alexis, is fantastic. I had a lot of deep cleaning done and didn't feel a thing and she let me know what she was doing and why the whole time. We got written quotes on the work we needed and were told to just let them know when we wanted to proceed. That was refreshing. Their technology and equipment are state-of-the-art which makes things very comfortable and easy. The dental hygienist falsified my records and claimed I had an extensive in-depth cleaning that cost over $200.00. I paid $136.00 out of pocket for a treatment I did not want nor receive. When I called the office to request a refund, the office clerk argued with me, telling me I had an in-depth cleaning, that my x-rays showed blah blah, and that she is unwilling to remedy this situation. As a grown educated woman, I do know the difference between a routine cleaning and an in-depth procedure. Being patronized only irritates me more. Thankfully, Cannon Park Dental saved the day and had immediate availability to fix my filling. The office itself is very clean and has all of the latest equipment. Beth, the Dental Assistant, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process. Dr. Myers also has great bedside manner and fixed the filling in record time. As someone who has had fillings done in six different states, it is incredibly rare to have a painless and enjoyable experience at the dentist. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Myers and his team for all the help (especially during a terrible pandemic!).

Her office is state of the art and she's great about walking you through what's going on with your treatment and why. Others may not, but I appreciate this time to understand why or why not a procedure, surgery, etc... is needed. She uses digital cameras and photos to show you one tooth vs another so you become a part of the process. I definitely recommend Dr. Seay personally, she's excellent. I still live in Park West but I no longer go to this office and I'll tell you why. After a visit and a recommendation to see an oral surgeon about having a tooth removed, I did. I went to Dr. Maltezos for a consult and it was recommended that a particular tooth be removed and an implant be put in. I wasn't opposed to this, but at the time, the tooth wasn't causing a problem and I was in-between jobs with no dental insurance or extra money to pay for such an expensive procedure. I had a family friend who had been my dentist for years look over the x-rays and his suggestion was that there was no immediate problem so there was no issue with waiting. Months later, I was having some sensitivity and needed a cleaning anyway. I came in to find that Dr. Seay had taken leave (I think for a few months) so I was informed that I would be seeing a different dentist. It turns out, my dentist for the day was Dr. Maltezos wife. I told her about the sensitivity in that tooth, which had actually passed, and wasn't bothering me. She pretty much scolded me after looking at her husbands recommendation and asked me "why is this tooth still in your mouth?". Um, maybe because I wasn't ready to have a tooth permanently taken out that wasn't causing me any problems and was going to cost thousands of dollars that I didn't have... that's a start. She then belittled every response I had and just ruined my experience there. It truly felt like she was just trying to push business onto her husbands office. I never ended up going back. I went to another dentist who agreed that the best tooth to have is the one that's in your mouth. I would have stuck with that dentist, but there was an insurance issue. I've now moved on to another office and actually had a new consult for the tooth. It finally started causing a problem almost 3 years later. I ended up eventually having the tooth out, which I mentioned, was my goal eventually, but I was able to do it under my own terms and when I had my insurance back in place to help defer the cost. Part of me wanted to knock this review down lower because of how my experience took such a 180, but Dr. Seay doesn't deserve that. She really is a great dentist. The office isn't cheap, but they're not sparing a single expense when it comes to the most up to date and top of the line equipment. Park West Dentistry is a great office, but I would never see Mrs. Dr. Maltezos again.

In particular, I need to praise Tasha, who has cleaned my teeth for years. Here are a few words to describe Tasha: competent, proactive, kind, and warm...bottom line is she cares about her clients. Next, I need to praise Teena, the office manager. She is the last person you see on your way out the door. Teena promotes goodwill in everything she does, advocating for each client. Teena & Tasha are two of the threads woven into the cloth that is Modern Family Dentistry. There seem to be many other good people here; I just talked about the two I interact with regularly. My mouth is so sensitive that I have had horrible experiences with ever dentist I have been to. I don't get numb enough so when they start drilling it is very painful. Also, I will feel pain for a week just from the numbing shots. It scares me so much that I put off going despite the severe tooth pain i was experiencing. One day it got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I called into this office because it was the closest to my house and luckily I was able to get a same day apt. I was so scared I brought my husband with me for support. The lady at the front desk greeted me by name and I was brought right back to a chair. Grace talked me through everything and made me very comfortable. I explained to her my bad experiences in the past and how scared I was. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and offered me nitrous, which I gladly accepted after finding out I would need a root canal. The lady who had to give me multiple numbing shots had a special trick that made them completely painless, even one on the roof of my mouth. The dentist was the nicest one I have ever met. He walked me through the entire thing. I was completely at ease. It went by so quick and painlessly. I have hear horrible stories about root canals and how painful they are but this one was easier than any cavity filling I have had. I cannot even explain how relieved I am to have found Modern Family Dentistry and how comfortable I am to go back for future dental work.
