It's probably a good thing he is closed. Years ago I saw him about an enlarged parodid gland due to sjogren's sysndrome. Without hesitation he said it must come out with surgery. Keep in mind this is a highly risky surgery due to it's location. In addition, I didn't have a great vibe when I saw him, his recommendation was way too quick and he was way too eager. This added stress to an already stressful situaton. The other doctor's I saw for another opinion did not say surgery must happen. I'm seeing a trend here with other reviews I'm reading. I came in for an ear popping issue and then they said I had to take multiple nose sprays for the rest of my life or get surgery because I have a runny nose in the morning. I came into this location for an appointment for Thing Two. The appointment time was at 10:30 AM. I arrived promptly at 10:00 AM to complete the required paperwork for the appointment. When Thing Two was called back to the examination room, we were asked the same questions in redundancy that were on the forms that were completed upon arrival by a technician. At approximately, 11:15 AM, the nurse practitioner shows up to the room apologizing for the "wait". However, at this juncture, we were at the establishment for over an hour and 15 minutes which is extremely inefficient. Aside from the tardiness, the ear examination provided to Thing Two was efficient but not what she was to be scheduled for. She was to be scheduled for a full hearing test with an Audiologist which is not what occurred today. This was a basic examination that was done by the PCP who referred me to this location. I paid $36.00 for a less-than-5-minute visit (the co-pay) which was a waste of time. The two stars here is given for a less than-efficient experience. read more

This happened a few years ago but I never posted to Yelp, only Google. I'm really frustrated with this office. I feel as if they use the "trying to make your health better" as a reason to upsell. I brought my daughter because she has a bump behind her ear that is swollen and will not go away. She went once with her dad and saw the NP. He put her on all kinds of meds that did nothing. We went back and saw Dr Tamez. I chose him bc he came highly recommended by a NP I work with. They had us do a CT and endoscopy which he then used to tell me she needed a surgery for deviated septum. She may very well benefit from this surgery but it's not the reason we were there. We were told we would be sent for a biopsy of the lump. I never received a single thing about the biopsy but have gotten a quote via email for a surgery that we would have to pay our full out of pocket max for or for self pay $25,000. I told them I wouldn't be going forward with that. I then received a call to schedule allergy testing that I don't even remember discussing. I have yet to hear a single thing about the biopsy for the actual thing we went to this office for. Very disappointed. Also a side note...I do referrals for a medical practice. I tried to call last week to get a patient in. They answered the phone and I heard the woman say "Just ignore it" and then was hung up on. I called back and left a message and have never received a call back. I will no longer choose this office to refer anyone to. read more

oh wow, I had same experience as others. I also think that Dr Tamez is working on making money with surgeries needed or not. He also told all correct breathers have oval shape face like his. I went for ear equalization issue after scuba diving which was done with nurse Brandon. And afterwards got setup for an appointment with Dr Tamez even though I was perfectly fine. Dr Tamez gave 20 minutes lecture on why my face is not oval like his as it is because I do not breath right even before looking at ct scan which was taken earlier. He sounded like a hustler who wanted to trap you for nose surgeries as well as your diet. He also told me I have drooling, sleep apnea, beside not breathing right. I have none of the issues as I had told them many times. He was going to do 5 or 6 stents and he was going to be kind doctor to give big discount on 2 stents if not approved my insurance. He also sprayed something in my nose and later asked me if I am breathing better now than before. When I said I was breathing perfectly fine before also. Gave me another lecture that in his 40 years of practice, only 2 did not feel better breathing and asked me again. I obliged and said yes. The 20 minute hustler lecture came after I had 2 appointments of waiting for 2 hours in his office and I had to excuse myself that I can not wait anymore. It was 3rd appointment that I had the honor of his 20 minute memorized non stop speech. 3rd appointment was over an hour. Please get 2nd opinion before going though his surgeries. I asked for a copy of my Audiology records back in September 2024. I'm still waiting for them and this week is Thanksgiving. So much for 5-7 business days. Customer service and correspondence is pretty foreign to this business. They no longer offer Audiology/hearing aids and it's probably a good thing. The ENT side of the business was a horrible experience - so many hoops to jump through to try and see if you even "qualify" to get hearing aids. It was like they were trying to get more money out of you by suggesting other care that wasn't necessary. I wouldn't recommend this business if it was the last option on Earth. read more

my care seemed to be well in the beginning, these people seem to just want money. I walked out of the office disappointed.

I'd seen Brendan in 2023 for ear pain and itching. Brendan stated it was sinus related, he could tell by looking at me that I wasn't breathing correctly, mentioned an underdevelopment of my nose, stated I didn't know what its like to breathe normally and gave me a list of prescriptions to take. I had ear pain a couple weeks ago and saw another ENT who'd suggested an otc ear flush. I'd used the flush and the pain persisted. I decided to go back to Tejas and scheduled an appointment for July 30. My July 30th visit: The medical assistant didn't ask the standard questions regarding current medications once I was in the room. She only asked if I had high blood pressure. Brendan came in shortly after and said my ear pain was gone because I'd taken the meds he'd prescribed THEN I stopped taking the meds and THAT's why my ear pain was back. He didn't ask me what I was currently taking. He proceeded to tell me the same as he'd done previously about me not knowing what it's like to breathe regularly then handed me the same list of meds from before. I told him I stopped taking one of them because (though he said it'd give me a great nights sleep) it made me groggy. I read through the list and told him two of the meds I was already taking. He then said I needed an allergy test and sleep study. I reinterated to him the reason I was there was for ear pain.He said (and as he stated the last time I was there) my ear pain was completely related to my sinuses. I asked about the ear itchiness and he "guaranteed" it was related to my sinuses . He looked up my nose, covered my mouth with a tissue then squirted a solution into my nose. He said, " I bet you're breathing a lot better aren't you?" I asked what it was, then I read the bottle. He'd sprayed generic version of Afrin in my nose. I told him, " I wish you'd have told me what you were doing. That's Afrin and I have asthma. Afrin gives me and an accelerated heartbeat". He walked out of the room then came back and asked if I could stick around 30 minutes. I said " I took a Sudafed before coming here". He said he wasn't worried. (For those of you who don't know, Sudafed side effects include rapid heart rate just as Afrin does). He told me to wait in the lobby for 30 minutes then walked me to the front desk to schedule a follow up with him, along with an allergy test and a sleep study. I told the front desk not to schedule anything as I didn't plan on coming back. I sat in the waiting area and focused on controlling my breathing as I now had two sinus meds in my system that accelerate my heart beat. Shortly after he came to check my heart rate and asked how I was. I told him my heart was beating fast. He came back 10 min later to check my heart rate again and said, "from a medical standpoint you're fine, you can stick around here as long as you'd like.We can get you some water .. and I'm sorry". I left after that. I was seriously shocked at his lack of compassion for what could have turned into a dire situation. He called about an hour later to check on me, apologized again and said my allergy to Afrin was now noted in my chart. Update -I went to another ENT a day later. I told him about my ear pain and lack of smell issue. He determined that the ear pain was from jaw grinding. He looked up my nose with a camera and said I had nasal polyps. I'd mentioned the medications Brendan said would resolve my issue.This ENT said neither of the meds would solve my ear pain or polyp issue. Thank you Austin ENT & Allergy! The medical assistant took the time to ask what meds I was currently on and made note of them in my chart. This nose ... knows! I would like to start off by saying thank you for taking time in reading my mini novel review - smiles. I feel that it is important to go into detail especially if this is your first time or like me seeking help after so many years of misery of failed treatments or misdiagnoses. Dr. Tamez including the different areas of in office testing and staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional, respectful, helpful and if your OCD like me the office is very clean. I have had several procedures over a course of eight years with no success or long term positive results. Trust me! I have had it all done except my deviated septum which will be addressed as well. I appreciate his candor, detailed explanations of what is needed, my pre and postreatment plan and knowing they are all genuinely compassionate to any concerns or how bad you're feeling. My personal advice is please follow any given instructions or recommends for pre treatments and post treatments. You have to work as a team if you want a successful outcome. If you need to see any other specialist he is recommending do so, even if needed for TMJ and jaw realignment or other specialist. We know that TMJ is not pleasant and it all goes together like a puzzle piece. It will make sense once you understand your correct diagnosis or condition. I'm 3 weeks into my pre treatment which will take about 10 months versus 4 months for my TMJ and Jaw realignment. I only want to wear my temporary treatment TMJ and Jaw realignment guard at night. I also appreciate the fact that he dictates his notes while your in the room so you both know you're on the same page and can ask any final questions at the very end. He has a lot of information he has to note in your file so let him do his due diligence. It is beneficial, time saving and necessary. You will find that he will have answered 99% during your appointment. So, have your questions or concerns ready before your appointment as each patient's time is just as important as yours. Your appointment will be more productive and you'll actually have more time and not wasted time if needed. Being that I am a more complicated case this should put some of you who may have any concerns at ease. Dr. Tamez was extremely adamant to make sure that all my tests were up to date including an upcoming repeat sleep study for my specific condition. He also involved my Primary and Neurologist for a release of consent for treatment due to my health conditions. Which by the way all came back as approved for treatment- YAY! So my journey began with my treatment plan last month with my Jaw as you can see in the photo of my 3-D imaging , exercising my bi- lateral gestation tubes with a pretty neat battery operated Eustachi machine. I'm doing the prep work and it's working! Dr.Tamez is not arrogant by any means, he is confident and extremely knowledgeable - there is a difference. In fact his whole staff falls in the same level of professionalism in my book. They have always returned my calls regarding any further questions that have arise and yes, that includes Dr. Tamez. So do your part and understand your full treatment plan, recovery plan and what you have to look forward too. It will make it easier in your healing process mentally and physically. Very disappointed with my daughters visit at Tejas Ear, Nose, Throat. Firstly you cannot get a hold of anyone no matter when you call, and they might not call you back when you leave a message. I had to attempt establishing our appointment twice. I finally got a call back out of the blue about a week after my second attempt at contact. My daughters appointment was for an audiology screening because she is non-verbal we are ruling out any medical causes. I made this clear with the person I spoke to that she is non-verbal and will not respond to commands, I went in expecting an actual baby audiology screening, but instead we were screened like we were getting hearing aids, in a sound proof booth, the second piece of equipment was barely attempted to register clearly, kept giving an error and finally it spit out "Referral", it doesn't seem like the operator knew what they were doing and this referral felt like they were just passing the buck. There was absolutely no patient advocacy in this practice what-so-ever. However, It gets worse, this is where the fun starts, since you can't get a hold of anyone when calling, I had be called three separate times, (one person who called me was actually attempting to reach someone else, I had to explain to her that I was actually expecting a phone call but I'm not this patient they were calling about) Finally it was revealed to me that this Dr. has had his privileges at Dells Children's Hospital REVOKED. Leaving me with absolutely no recourse to get the care my daughter needs, unless I restart the whole process from the beginning wasting who knows how much time and money. Tejas Ear Nose and Throat dropped the ball multiple times in my dealings with them, they took the time I had to get an early diagnosis and squandered it, forcing me to book new appointments. I was looking for an ENT for my daughter. I made the mistake of not asking for referrals with her pediatrician and instead searched Google for doctors around the area. This is how we ended up with Dr. Tamez (unfortunately). As many reviews have mentioned, this place lacks customer service, medical care, and awareness of patient needs. They are after profiting and submitting claims. My daughter is 8 years old, we went to see an ENT because she had a ringing in her ear caused by high allergies. We have an allergy center we have worked with for many years. They are wonderful. We told Dr.Tamez'sz team about it but his nurses kept insisting on scheduling an appt to get her tested for allergies. After the first visit, she was given treatment with antibiotics. The nurse Brandon was already talking about the possibility of having to get her in surgery to treat her problem and also referred us to see an orthodontic. We have not received a confirmation of what the problem was and the doctor hasn't seen her yet... but we had all this list of referrals. After the antibiotic treatment, we came back for a follow-up. This time Dr. Tamez was in the room with Brandon the nurse. My daughter was asked to give a scale on her improvement since the last visit. Her answer was "I feel 90% better". Brandon was surprised by that answer. Dr. Tamez acted as her answer didn't care and went ahead to insist that she was going to need nose surgery (I don't recall the medical terms). Another nurse came in and asked for my credit card for a nose cam. Brandon pushed me to sign a piece of paper. I told him I was not consenting to surgery. He responded that this signature was only to confirm we understood what was talked about during the visit. I signed it. And now, I feel it was my mistake not to read thoughtfully the whole sheet. We told Brandon and Dr Tamez that we were not going to go through with the surgery. We needed to discuss further. At the front desk, I asked for a copy of everything that was talked about in the room. Later that evening I received an email with a letter that was written completely in favor of the surgery and made my daughter sound as if she was the most miserable patient with many sleeping and breathing problems. Which is a lie. She sleeps great. Never had an ear infection or sinus. This was the first time she ever had sinuses. But Dr. Tamez's letter she is described as a chronic patient. On top of that, the letter did not have Dr. Tamez's signature. I felt that this letter was a generic template that his office uses to justify a medical procedure. The next day I received a call from a child cardiologist's office asking to schedule an appt. for pre-surgery. WHAT ON EARTH! We never consent to this surgery!! I called my insurance to notify them that my daughter was not going to have any surgery. To flag any claims coming from Dr. Tamez's office or referrals. That evening I sent an email to Dr. Tamez's office, bringing to his attention the letter I received from his office that was written opposite of everything that happened in the visit. I also requested for his team to stop any pre-surgery procedures as I never consented to one. The following day I received an email from Dr. Tamez's office with detailed information of what was out of pocket expense for the surgery. This office has no respect and lacks communication. They kept pushing for everything to go through as they desired without taking into consideration what the patient needed. Dr. Tamez is egocentric, and selfish and breaks all the rules of his medical oath. He should have his bar revoked. I started going to Tejas Ear Nose & Throat earlier this year after a sleep study. I should have read the reviews first. They only seem to care about getting your payment first and submitting a claim. This is how disgusted I was with the front desk the 2nd and last time I visited- I paid my $60 co-pay for the appointment I made and then walked out. I was getting bombarded about paying for additional procedures while still at the front desk. I have been requesting my imaging Tejas ENT did of the inside of my nose for my general practicioner for months now and haven't heard from them after many phone calls that go to their messaging system. I don't recommend this medical office at all. I rarely leave reviews, but I'm disgusted with Tejas Ear Nose & Throat. read more

i went to dr tamez in 2024 for breathing/wheezing issues. at first, his office appeared to run well. the PA's were pleasant and seemed competent. over the course of a few weeks and a couple more visits it was determined that i needed sinus and deviated septum surgery. i noticed during this time that it was not easy to communicate with the office staff. i don't ever remember a live person answering any of my calls. the protocol was to leave a voice message and wait for the appropriate person to call you back. the doctor made me get clearance from a cardiac specialist, even though i have no history of heart problems. he told me that was bc he expected the procedures to take 2-3 hours, and i would be under anesthesia general anesthesia for that. his post op required at least two visits a week apart to physically clean out my nasal passages. at each of those visits i was to take calming and pain meds for the expected discomfort of the clean out. the communication was really annoying. i did a lot of research and had over a dozen questions i wanted answered before the surgery. i actually dropped off the question list prior to my final visit with him. on my final pre-op the doctor opened with "well, it's mr question man." he then made this comment: "if i took the time to answer all these questions, i'd never get anything done." that is a quote. i did not get the surgery done by dr tamez. i went to another ent on mopac. that doc made the same diagnosis and recommendation for surgery. HOWEVER, his surgery methods were so advanced it took less than 20' to complete. there was almost no bleeding, very little pain, and no followup appointments to scrape tissue out of my nose. i was back to normal stuff in less than 48 hours and my first followup was one month afterwards. no cardiac eval, no blood work, no condescending manner. and an office that actually answers the phone. read more

I guess he failed to read that I work in a related industry. I do not have faith in a doctor that doubts his own field and education and I definitely won't be going under the knife with him. Don't bother. Scheduled an appointment, waited a month, walked in 8 minutes late (I'll admit I messed it up by putting it at the wrong time on my calendar). On my drive in, they called and left me a voice mail, I called back twice and both times no one answered. Once the staff got to me (11 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) they said the doctor already was at a different appointment (they book the appointments that close together?) and wanted to reschedule for a different day. If that was all, three stars. But I got back to my car and listened to the voicemail they left earlier and it said they charge 75$ if you're more than 6 minutes late? I've never seen an ENT before, but my ears were starting to be concerning so I made an appointment. Creating an appointment was easy and the office emailed me most of the paperwork to fill out so I could get it done ahead of time. Appointment day arrived and I was seen promptly after arriving. Review based solely on communication with office staff in pre appointment scheduling as I never became a patient due to the poor experience... The gal who originally scheduled my appointment with Dr. Tavez was super bubbly and accommodating. We set a visit for over 2 months in future due to his booked schedule, to check out some ear and nose issues. A week before my much anticipated consult, I received a bizarre voicemail from their practice with a girl giggling as she spoke. Borderline sounded like a prank call or how a pre teen girl would communicate to a boy. It was really uncomfortable. I called back shortly after, saying I received a strange voicemail and was hoping to speak with a manager and figure out what happened. I was transferred to the girl who left the voicemail and she was trying to put it on one of her staff saying it was a girl in the background laughing, which it clearly was not. I was then transferred to an office manager who immediately discounted my concern and spoke in a very belittling tone attempting to overpower me, not let me get a word in, and try to make me feel stupid. Instead of a sincere apology, and trying to regain my trust and attempt to have me keep my appointment / make it right, she gave me one of those 'we're sorry you feel that way' cop outs. I canceled the appointment and am now looking elsewhere. Very disappointed! read more

My complaint was a constant feeling of an obstruction in my left nostril. Dr Tamez examined me, then went on a tirade about how if he fixed my sinuses I would breathe better and it--seemingly--would cure everything that ailed me. I thought I was speaking to a chiropractor. He then prescribed treatment for a sinus infection, even though I had no symptoms of one. After weeks of pills and multiple sprays up my nose--$50 worth of drugs--there was zero improvement in my discomfort. I then sought a second opinion, who confirmed that I did not have a sinus infection and that treatment for one was uncalled for. I have not returned to Tejas ENT for this reason. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Tejas ENT. I started seeing Dr. Tamez back in October 2020 with brain fog issues. Dr. Tamez quickly identified that I had a severe deviated septum and was able to link a number of symptoms to issues related to that. I had no idea that my nasal issues could have been solved by getting braces when I was a child. I opted for the deviated septum surgery (carried out by Dr. Tamez) and after some recovery I can breath like the wind! Having been a mouth breather for so long I had no idea what it was like to breath normally. Heck, I thought what I had was normal. Tejas' staff was very communicative and were there for me throughout the entire process. Highly recommend. read more

I'm 100 times worse than before I had the procedure which included turbine reduction plus what we he did to my ears. My tinnitus is 2x as bad. My nose has a different look and I have photos that can prove that... and I ask if that could happen before and they told me no. I now have a bump and a soft spot below it. I was back in his office numerous times other than my regular follow ups. His answers to my concerns were bs. And after months of not getting the help he should have given I Had to go to another ENT where I was told... and I knew this as I could tell and even suggested this to Dr Tamaz... one side is collapsed. A stint was recommended but I don't want anything up my nose and I'm pretty sure you could tell it would be there. I can't breath through the side I initially went in for. My snoring is worse. Basically everything is way worse! I would never suggest this to anyone. And I am pretty po'd and weighing legal options as I feel he took away some major quality of life. They also ask for a review after your first visit, when you leave with a FALSE since of security because he seems to be a nice guy...Being a Smooth talker with a nice personality does not = skill imo. Excellent staff! The front desk lady, Calista, was extremely friendly and professional. I've seen many medical receptionists in my life and she is a breath of fresh air! Very patient with me in helping me get all paperwork worked out. I saw the nurse practitioner, Andrew, because Dr. Tamez wasn't available and he was great! Excellent bedside manner, listened to me and educated me on everything he was doing in a way that was easy to understand, all while making me feel comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as you can with things going up your nose. First visit success! read more

My appointment with NP Morgan Wassell was at 2:30 pm. I sat in the examining room until 3:05 pm. At no time did anyone stick their head in the door and say Morgan was running late. At 3:05, I left. Morgan called me at 5:25 afterthey closed at 5 pm and left avoicemail taht I should call her. The number I called was an answering service that could not put me in touch with her. After three tries, the service finally got a message to Dr. Tamez. The doctor told the service to tell me to callback in the morning. This business could use a course in customer service. read more

When the meds he prescribed gave me side effects, he told me that they couldn't have given me those side effects because they just don't do that. Arrogant to the point of being dangerous. I began seeing Dr. Tamez in December of 2014 for recurrent sinus infections. After trying treatment and deciding to have sinus surgery, he did four procedures (sinus surgery, fixed my deviated septum, trimmed some turbinates, and removed my adenoids). Dr. Tamez and his staff were always friendly. I did experience quite a bit of difficulty in the staff locating records, x-rays, and communicating promptly. After surgery in February, I developed a fungal infection. This went on for quite some time and by May, I sought out a second opinion. Dr. Tamez treated the infection with a nasal steroid/antibiotic/anti-fungal treatment and oral anti-fungal. The infection did not seem to get better and I was in constant pain. After going for a second opinion, it appeared that I did not need the adenoid removal, turbinates trimmed, septum surgery or the more invasive sinus surgery. I really needed the balloon surgery and nothing else. Dr. Tamez also mentioned having a consultation with my dentist for maxio-facial work to help with the alignment of my jaw to allow better breathing, etc. I thought this was a bit much and did not opt to have any dental work done as a result. I did file a complaint with the medical board and they did find that the treatment for the fungal infection seemed sufficient. I do think that Dr. Tamez recommended more procedures than were actually medically necessary and wrote this review in the hopes that anyone seeking treatment/surgery will at least get a second opinion. I did address my issues with the staff in a letter to Dr. Tamez in the hopes he would correct the problems. read more

Tejas practice is really overrated. Here is my 0-star experience 1. When I called Tejas office to get an appointment with doctor for my ear pain, they gave me an appointment with nurse practitioner without any explanation. 2. She put me 3 weeks on antibiotics and a week on steroids which did not work. 3. After 5 weeks, I still get sharp pain in my ears and I called the office to cancel a following ear wax cleaning appointment because of same sharp ear pain. 4. Front office said that I'll be charged $100 no-show fee for not cancelling the appt. 3 days in advance, even after I called them and mentioned valid reason just before the appointment. 5. I am expecting the front-office to schedule me a follow-up appointment with the Doctor, instead my call was dropped saying $100 no show fee for eax wax removal. 6. Finally, Tejas office never picks the call during any time in the day, they will only call back after few hours if you leave a message. read more

Nice facility, easy appointment process, staff is friendly and Kelly the nurse practitioner was attentive and kind. My husband also had a good experience and I will be sending my son there too. Definitely recommend. read more

Absolutely horrible. I've been a patient for close to a decade... over that course of time it seems like they have never been able to figure out how to run a business and see patients on time. Over 5 years ago my experience was that they couldn't get patients seen on an on-time and reliable basis. I gave them feedback and received a call personally from Dr. Tamez apologizing. I made the mistake of booking an appointment hoping they had fixed these issues but obviously not... they estimated I could be called back 10-15 minutes late and would not be seen until 30-45 minutes after my appointment time. When I communicated my frustrations to the office manager there was no accountability, just excuses. This office has you sign an agreement that if you are more than 10 minutes late they have the right to cancel you appointment and you are charged a fee.... but they can be 30-45 minutes late? My experience over these years has been that they are consistently late, sometimes hours late. This is a terribly run practice and I urge you to find a different doctor. read more

I was experiencing sensitive hearing in my left ear, and was recommended this place on Facebook on a Friday, was able to schedule an appointment for the following Monday! The staff was very helpful, even did the paperwork with me over the phone prior to the appt! I was seen within 5 minutes of my arrival time and received excellent service! I'll be back for sure! read more

It takes a miracle to get an appointment less than 2 months out and showing up 45 mins before your appointment time doesn't matter because still waiting. Always get told they're busy and will see us as soon as they can. "WHATS THE POINT OF APPOINTMENTS THEN!" Seriously should just move to walk in basis...then patients can at least expect to wait over an hour past appt time just to be put into a room to wait some more. read more

My family and I were staying in the Round Rock area for our kids softball tournament. While here, my husband had an awful ear ache and could not hear due to ear drum blockage. (Awful thing to deal with while out of town) He knew he needed to see an ear doctor right away. After many unsuccessful attempts at calling around and dealing with not very helpful people and my husband driving to see if he could get in somewhere, he was directed to Tejas Ear, Nose and Throat. The girls at the front were the most helpful people we have met in Texas and were able to get him In right away. They started working on insurance right away and actually had sympathy for him and the situation. When meeting the Dr he was nice a friendly and he made him comfortable. He took care of the blockage in minutes. The office was clean, the staff was awesome. It was a great experience. If we ever are in Austin, Texas this would be his ear dr. We are all so grateful for the staff and Doctor for taking the time to actually care and help us. Thank you all Tejas staff! read more

I originally went to see them because I was sick and had some issues breathing. After setting up an appointment and coming early to fill out paperwork I waited over 90 minutes to see the doctor. He recommended a lot of tests that I felt were unnecessary at this time because I was sick. He helped me clear up my nose issues and I wanted to come see him to see if all the surgery was needed. I was very vocal with him and his staff that I did not want any optional treatments or procedures at that time or in my follow up visit, regardless if I have insurance (I do.) Today I went to the office 20 minutes early. They charged my credit card as I entered their office for a copay and as I signed off on it I notice the bill they were going to process. It had 2 hearing tests on it and a endoscopy. Before I could get a word out they said they where running 20 minutes late and I would be seeing another doctor first. I asked why would I see another doctor if I was there for a follow up appointment. They said it was for my hearing test. I lost it and asked to speak with Dr. Tamez. Their office manager came out and tried to explain that it was an optional test and I didn't need to do it.... Then why would you schedule me for it when I stated to you last time I was in your office I just wanted a follow up visit. It's because Tejas is trying to get every dollar out of the insurance company. I was told to wait to talk to the doctor because he was with another patient. 10:30 is when I got there, 10:50 was my appointment, we left at 11:20 without seeing him. Asked the office manager to have him call me. 6 hours later no call. I will be reporting this to the insurance company and any government agencies. Your office sets up shady practice policies and you refuse to even contact your patient. Shame on you. read more

When the hearing aid I had used for ten years finally gave out, I knew it was time to retest my hearing and get a new one. What steered me to Tejas ENT was TruHearing, via my Humana Health Plan. Dr. Mendez was just terrific. She retested my hearing and gave me my options. I'm now the proud owner of a Widex Cross System, and I love it. I'm handicapped on a walker and Dr. Mendez was just great, showing patience and understanding. I look forward to working with her in the future for any adjustments I might need. read more

Dr. Tamez is amazing!! He took the time to explain my son's breathing issues and explained how he was going to correct it. I would recommend Dr. Tamez to anyone having ENT issues. read more
