I would not use this service after what I experienced this morning. I was behind a Telecab car this morning at a stop light and the driver threw some trash out his window. I'm furious and start yelling and gesturing to get out and pick it up, not expecting any response but he gets out and for a moment I'm worried it's going to escalate but at least he pick it up with many nasty expletives directed at me as if I am the one who's wrong here. Dispatchers are friendly upon the friendly conversation... We pickup and drop off in all types of weather conditions and can travel through some deep water plus we keep our cabs clean and fresh smelling. The disbatcher are rude. The disbatcher will say the cab is on it's way. But the driver show up 2 hours late. So late that I don't get my whole treatments at hospital. It's the same thing waiting to be pick up from hospital 2 hours wait. The drivers smoke in cab and smell like an ash tray. This awful treatment of the whole company got to stop. I went to call a cab around 1 am.... spoke with a very rude dispatcher who gave me HELLA attitude when I tried to give my address. No surprise given it's a company located in shitty Joliet. After quoting me their ridiculous price rate (15$ to even begin the ride, understandable but steep) I was advised it was a THREE HOUR WAIT TO GET A CAB. I would give a 0 if I could. My first experience I used their service and attempted to pay with my credit card and the driver said my credit card did not work. So I paid with cash. The charge showed up on my credit card. I contacted the company and they did nothing. I contacted them a second time. I paid the fare of $40. With a $20. Tip with cash and the driver claimed I stiffed him. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. NEVER AGAIN! I have been a lot lot of places,and these cab prices are insane!! I do not know how it is legal!! The Citizens of Joliet and surrounding area that have or choose to use a cab service should demand lower fares!!! This cab company has terrible drivers that have no concern for the safety of their passengers nor other drivers. They will rip tourists and visitors off it happened to us. Driven all over town and charged $40 to go from the train station to Harrahs!! Ridiculous!! I despise this cab company and I have submitted reports to the Better Business Bureau. I always use a taxi service when I am out on the town. Usually these guys are great. This time however the lady on dispatch, Lori, was absolutely the most disrespectful person I have ever talked to on the phone. With uber and other taxi services being available you would think they would appreciate good customers. If it wasn't for the cab driver I would give this service a 0. They make it so difficult to get a cab. Once you call, they email a contract and want you to reply with your credit card info. The surcharge to Lemont was $17 and then additional $2+ per mile. So we paid over $30 for a 2 mile trip, which I suppose is cheaper than a DUI but it took forever. read more

I tell everyone I know to stay away from TeleCab based entirely on how rude they are, especially their insane drivers. They must hire anybody who walks in. I had one of their drivers follow me and scream out their window at me for no reason, and another who almost hit me and looked at me and laughed about it as he drove past. While waiting for TeleCAB taxi transport from the United States Postal Service (USPS), 2000 West McDonough Street, Joliet, Illinois, 60436-9998, United States of America, I found it necessary to exit the premises before the driver arrived. I needed to use the restroom, and there is no public access in the USPS Joliet Main Post Office. The nearest place to go was the Hotel where I am staying. I sincerely apologize; and due to the consistent understanding that I have received from City of Joliet Police Officers, TeleCAB dispatchers and drivers, and other TeleCAB personnel, I believe that I shall be forgiven. I needed to make arrangements for early AM pick up at my home to get to the Joliet Amtrak station. I booked a pickup and a return using their TeleTaxi android app. I got confirmation codes on both requests after a number of app crashes. My pick up date/time comes up and I get a no show. All while I know the train is running on-time. I called and the dispatcher said they could not confirm my pickup, but I could get a pickup in 40 minutes (which would be after the train had come and gone). I loaded my car and drove to the station knowing I would be leaving my car in a parking lot for a few days. On my return, while I am driving home, the dispatcher calls and rants about me not cancelling the pickup at the train station. What gall! I had to hang up. These people are rude and do not care about their customers. Next time it's Uber. read more

Rarely am I moved to write a review. I do when service is quite superb or to the contrary. I'll start from the beginning. I ordered a cab at 7:55am and was told that it would take 30-45 minutes but probably sooner because she was in the same town as me. After an hour of waiting I called back. I would get through, put on hold. The phone "disconnected" three times. The woman working in dispatch was rude and from the first call she did a lot of deep exasperated breathing like she simply hated her job. I asked her if my driver was delayed and she reluctantly radioed the driver for an ETA. I was told less than 10 minutes. 20 minutes later my cab/van arrives. The van REEKED of smoke, I could barely breath. She had a passenger who she chatted loud with about her job and random inappropriate topics. My destination was less than 6 miles away and my charge was 16.50. After she charged my debit card she says "oh wait, there's an additional 8 dollar charge because I picked you up in Plainfield". Which is the neighboring city, less than 5 miles away. My response "you were already in Planfield, you didn't have to leave Joliet to get me." I originally was going to leave a tip against better judgement, and asked her to remove the tip and charge my card the 24.50. Changing the charge from 16.50 to 24.50 was a hassle for her and the dispatcher. She cursed and discussed her dislike for the process and her annoyance. Overall, if I could give Telecab a lower star rating. I would. It's exceptionally unfortunate that this is the only cab service in the Joliet area. I will avoid using this service at ALL cost. read more

I called and talked to two dispatch women. They were both extremely disrespectful. The older women actually called me stupid and swore at me. The younger girl did the same. Guess you have to be ignorant to be a dispatcher for Telecab. This is the story- At the end of my event my friend and I called for a cab. We couldn't stand at our current location so I called and told them we had walked a few blocks down. I kept calling every 20 minutes and they kept telling me my cab was on the way. Then they kept telling me to walk back to the original destination. No amount of explaining that "we can't stand there" would get these women to understand me. An hour and a half later we were still standing on the side of the road and the cab was nowhere to be seen. This is a horrible cab company. Never been so disrespected. read more

Lately we've been using Telecab a lot. One day my cab was very late. Standing waiting to come home from work I was very annoyed at the situation. As soon as I got into the cab in Joliet my driver, Kathy was very pleasant, apologetic and just a pleasure to be around. Instantly I didn't care about being picked up behind schedule. Since then we have used the service many times and we run into Kathy as our driver and she always remembers us. Always is personable and pleasant and easy to talk to. She has been the best driver we have had. I hope the company gives kudos to her for being very customer friendly and a great driver. We love you Kathy! Wish there was a zero star option. I called an hour and a half ahead of when I needed to be picked up at the Joliet train station. When I got there the cab wasn't there. Called dispatcher and she said they were behind and it should be 15 to 20 minutes. After 25 minutes I called again and was told that driver was dropping someone off and was coming to get me. After another 20 minutes I called again and was told the same thing. A few minutes later I got a text that I was being picked up at an address in my subdivision which is almost a half hour away so they messed up on the phone numbers and were picking someone else and dropping them off before they picked me up. Then about a half hour later I was picked up. It was well over an hour late. The Joliet train station is not a place you want to be standing out at night. There was another guy standing there and I started talking to him and he had just gotten out of prison and was waiting for a ride. I don't know why the dispatcher just couldn't be honest with me. I could have had someone from my family pick me up way sooner. Someone on the train was also going back to Lockport to get there car and they offered to give me a ride but I didn't want to stiff the cab driver. Joke was on me. Then I stopped at Jewel on the way home and told the cashier what happened and the manager overheard and said Telecab left him outside waiting in the cold for over an hour in February. I downloaded Uber when I got home. The only unfortunate people that will be left using cabs are ones without a credit card and a cell phone. read more

So disappointed. Have used TeleCAB every New Year's Eve for years. This year, however, booking one week in advance, the dispatcher would not allow us to book both ways, and were told to call 1/2 hour prior to needed pick-up time. The first trip was fine, driver was great, although the van's seats were not set up prior to getting here. We called at 12:05 am for pick-up in 1/2 hour, for 7 people (same as drop off) and since we didn't have the exact address of the Moose Lodge, (although they didn't need it to drop us off) dispatcher told me to get the address, call back, and hung up on me! Called back 5 minutes later, and were told our cab would be there. A regular cab showed up without enough room for our group. Driver called dispatch for another cab. At 1:00 am, called again, sat on hold for 8 minutes, then got voice mail. Left message. No return call. Another in our party called, asked when we would be picked up, and dispatcher said "we're very busy tonight" and hung up on him! At 1:45 am, a friend came to pick up all 7 of us. Sorry for the driver who may have eventually showed up for us, but that dispatcher needs to be fired!!! read more
