Souvlaki, FLAVORLESS. No char, smoke, depth. Tasted like you pan-fried a chicken breast then skewered it. Smaller & presented sloppier. (Compare the pics). Lamb Shank Yvetsi still tender, but for the love of God what happened to the orzo? Burned in my memory how flavorful it was (it had depth!) This time, like you dumped Hunts over pasta. Honey Baked Feta was fair, but nothing measurable. Saganaki had last time, actually way better & I regret not giving it a fairer shake. Telia Chips were standout of the evening. Light fry, tempura-like breading, creamy tzatziki. Sad, if fried zucchini is best part of the meal. Food disappointment aside. It was my birthday. Could've picked from a dozen places in Chester Co, but drove to Berks for you. Hostess, zero acknowledgement. Waitress, zero acknowledgement. Not angling for free desert or a song, just acknowledge me! NEVER have I told service persons (or a stranger on the street) it's my birthday & had them gloss right over it, purse their lips & walk away. Really loved the setup here, they have indoor and outdoor seating but in nice weather they really open up the whole front of the restaurant and it's awesome. The food was generally excellent. We started with tuna tartar and pikilia (pita and some spreads). Both very good, the tuna was really nice. My son said the filet was the best he's had in Reading, perhaps not a high bar . The scallops were seared nicely and the orzo was very good. The spanakopita was also delicious. They had a decent beverage selection and the cocktails we got had a healthy pour. The service was great and Eleisha took great care of us. Some other notables: there was plenty of parking at the restaurant, they had 3 outdoor bar seats, we ordered off the menu but they did have specials, and last but not least it was kind of pricey. Visiting from N Myrtle Beach- went with family for the first time for all. We had a fantastic experience. Natalie was our server & one of the best. Explained the menu, suggestions we ended up loving. Menu is diverse and shareable items. We had charcuterie and then meals. Atmosphere is beautiful. Outside dining, open bar area. Highly suggested. Wow, fantastic experience! If you can, avoid peak hours. The place gets busy. I was very lucky to arrive around 5.40pm, and there were seats at the bar, but reservations are strongly recommended. Bartender Chris was flawless, patient, and overall, kept everyone at the bar well served. I went on to try three of their appetizers, and they were from great to fantastic. The mini gyros could be more savory. (They need a flavor twist) But all my bites were superb. As well as my drinks. Excellent ambiance, friendly professional service, and amazing flavors and value. I will come back to continue trying other entrées. read more

This new chic place of Mediterranean cooking is gorgeous and is the best place for summer cocktails, which are strong, and dinner. We started with the dips, zucchini chips and the saganaki. The latter was a little blah but the other two apps were stellar. Fantastic entrees we're the scallops and the souvlaki. Leave the spanakopita, it was meh. Five stars for the kind and thoughtful service. This place is new and is still working out some kinks but we'll worth a try! read more

Ambience on the porch patio was nice except we sat under the tree and an acorn hit me my glasses and bounced off my cheek luckily my food and drink was finished. Wait staff was great. Portions were very large. Enough for two meals at home. I had the salmon. We started with two apps. Very good and shared with our party of four. I can't say enough about our first dining experience at Telia. After the tuna tartare and feta cheese, appetizer, accompanied by a Greek Cabernet blend, they could have fed me anything and I would still be a raving fan. Our server, Elisha was outstanding in every way. I was so impressed watching the care they took to train a new server and it the volume to the professionalism of this restaurant. I will definitely go back and next time will probably just keep my way through the appetizer menu because everything was fantastic. read more

We frequent this restaurant bi weekly. We love it. The food the drinks the people the atmosphere all usually 5 star, but tonight there were so many mishaps. The food was still good the drinks were great, but unfortunately the attention by the server was less than normal. I don't usually complain but it was one thing after another. She gave my husband the wrong wine, never got bread till we asked, I had to ask what the special was even though she tried to get us to order our entree before we even got our drinks to the table multiple times, she also brought my husband steak out over cooked and never boxed my leftovers. I guess she threw away half my meal? Either she was having a bad night or ???? Just left a bad feeling tonight. She was either bad or having a bad night. I think we are better off sitting at the bar if we can get a seat. read more

Let me start by saying that this place should start rethinking what a greek cousin tastes like. last night Saturday nov. 25 at 8:45 pm we ordered a greek sausage and a combo with two souvlakis on a stick with grilled veggies. (Extremely expensive). The sausage was not a traditional greek at all. !!!!!!!! It tasted and looked like a polish kielbasa.the souvlaki on the stick was about %90 all fat. You guys are trying to imitate a very simple dish and you unbelievable messed it up .its shameful that you are deceiving your customers. Shame on you. And iam still irate about how much you charged my daughters .almost $70 for crap. read more

Nice to have a new restaurant in town. We had a very nice young lady for our wait staff attendant. We had the Mediterranean Chicken (very tasty but could have been a little more meat). My wife had the souvlaki- the Greek fries were awesome- however the pork kabobs that she was served was mostly fat. As the lighting is dim (nice ambiance) you could not see what was fat versus meat. So you ended up delicately removing "food"into a napkin. That was a turn off for her. She said she would not order that again. The restaurant was nicely decorated and was not too noisy. Lamb shank over orzo was simple and delicious and souvlaki's were delicious served w feta laced fries generous portion has to take the rest home. Great Greek themed cocktails and hand made syrups. The veal chop according to my husband was good. My spanakopita dry and spinach kind of old tasting and overdone. Asked for a larger table and was denied as they said there was no room. An interesting experience. The drinks were properly executed and well prepared. Our server was attentive, engaging and kind. The appetizers were nicely prepared and authentically Greek. And then our entrees - a disaster to say the least! My husband and I dine out often and we enjoy well prepared, well sourced and creative food. Telia's entrees were definitely not that. A new dish appeared on the menu since our last visit to this restaurant; sliced "Kobe" (American) top sirloin with "Greek" fries. The beef was poorly sourced and although properly prepared as requested (medium rare) was absolutely inedible. I did not expect Japanese Kobe but I also didn't expect crappy grocery store meat. The "Greek" chimichurri sauce on top of the meat was an abomination and added nothing to the disastrous dish. The beef had no marbling whatsoever making it hideously dry. After a few bites, I called it quits rather than risk choking. In an attempt to salvage some nutrition I moved to the "Greek" fries - wilted store bought fries with a few pieces of feta cheese and scallions sprinkled on the top. My husband ordered the fig salad with a shrimp add on. The salad was wilted to the point where it might as well have been bagged, out off code lettuce from the local grocery store. The figs were dried, tasteless and almost unidentifiable as figs. All of the above was brought to the attention of the manager on duty who attentively listened to our critique, took it all in and committed to proving the feedback to the owner. We read a lot of reviews and often think, these people are just complainers and we don't always take these reviews seriously. We are not those people and offer our critique in hope that the dining scene in Berks County can improve because as it is, te local scene barren wasteland for anyone who appreciates fine dining. We want TElia to be better. This was a very disappointing experience. Those who rate Telia with such high marks obviously do not know real Greek food. YaYa should not be happy. read more

Our table was not ready when we arrived, and the hostess acted as if she couldn't find our reservation. Then she disappeared without explanation. After that someone else started clearing a table near us, then looked at us and said, "This is your table." The atmosphere was crowded, and not as cozy as I had expected- it was too bright. The server was nice, but not very attentive. There were numerous times throughout the meal where I had to look for her and hunt her down. I have been to more than 10 Greek restaurants in the U.S. and this was by far the worst food. Saganaki: The cheese was floating in a sea of oil and served with pita bread that was also sitting in the oil. The pita bread was so saturated with the oil it was just a greasy mess. I prefer my saganaki with bread vs. pita, and have never seen it served with pita bread before. Regular bread is a much better pairing. Requested pita bread from the waitress that wasn't dripping in oil, and that helped. However, the cheese was heavily spiced (oregano?) and made it hard for the true flavor of the cheese to come through. Gyro appetizer: The pepper relish ruined it. The meat may have been good, but it was hard to tell because the pepper relish was so over bearing. Additionally, the tzatziki sauce on the gyro was too thick, had no cucumbers, no dill, and had an unappetizing flavor. Very disappointing as a good tzatziki sauce is one of my favorites. Zucchini "chips": There was very little actual vegetable - it was almost all breading with just a tiny sliver of zucchini. Again, over seasoned (oregano?), which destroyed the flavor. Served with the horrible, thick, tasteless tzatziki sauce, which ruined this dish too. Baklava: I LOVE baklava. I have never met a baklava I didn't love...until I had this one. DRY! It was all dough with very little honey and very few nuts. So little honey that it was dry and flaking, as if it were many days old. Are they trying to save money here? Or they just don't have a good bakery. This was gut wrenchingly sad to me. I was so excited for this restaurant and I was disappointed at every turn. Don't bother. This restaurant gives Greek food a bad name. Now everyone in Berks County who never had Greek food before will have a very low opinion. Please close soon. read more
