We had such a fun experience biking around this beautiful valley! Got there right when they opened and had an early start before the wineries opened. Dirk was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived! He even called me back after I first called to check if they were open but got his voicemail! Such excellent service from beginning to end and had a semi-private tasting of his delicious wines! He really knows his wines!! Parking was not an issue as it's located right in front of their beautiful home! E-bikes were good quality and helmets, lock and bag were included! Very easy to ride for us ladies! We had such an awesome experience renting e bikes as well as enjoying a wine tasting from Uys Winery. Not only was Dirk an amazing and patient instructor for the e bikes but he was also very knowledgable about different wines as well. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and worldly experiences but sadly had to go on the e bike tour before the sun went down! After a brief intro and with route instructions in hand we headed out for a ride to some wineries and lunch. The views were stunning and to have the wind whipping through our hair as the sun shines on our faces was just perfect. I was surprised that these babies go over 20 mph! Well I don't even know where to start with this review. First of all the day that we rented the bikes was one of the best days I've had in a very very long time. We got to the rental place and they had just opened up an amazing bottle of wine that they made them self. They shared it with us it was incredible. Then after a few sips they gave us a map and a very detailed list of places that we must see. We jumped on the bikes and off we went. It was amazing as far as I'm concerned it's the only way to go winetasting in Temecula. The bikes were great and very easy to use. Then when we got back several hours later they greeted us with warm smiles. Then they invited us for dinner. It was incredible. My fiancé and I rented two e-bikes for the day (~12 hours) on a whim for our weekend trip to Temecula. It ended up being the highlight of our trip! The drop off and pick up were seamless and Dirk could not have been more helpful in getting us oriented to the bikes and the area. He listened to our loose plan and proposed a route and some other stops along the way taking into account the terrain and our interests, which made the day much more enjoyable. It was a 70+ degree day and we put about 13 miles on the bikes (mostly on De Portola Rd and Camino Del Vino) and didn't break a sweat. Originally I was planning to rent regular mountain bikes, butI am so glad we didn't. We would not have been able to ride on the shoulder or go as far and as long on regular bikes. The e-bikes allow you to choose how much you want the bike to assist you so you can pedal or basically just ride, which is pretty cool. I would highly recommend this if you are comfortable on a bicycle/mountain bike and want to get between wineries without a car. For 95% of our route we were able to ride on the dirt shoulder on the side of the road, which was great because it was out of the way of cars, but there were some occasional large divets that could potentially cause a fall if you are not careful. Dirk provided helmets and the bikes had a bell, an adjustable cell phone holder if you wanted to use your phone as a GPS, and big front and rear lights. There is an option for them to pick up any wine purchases along the way, which is nice as well. All in all, if we're back in the area we would totally do this again and I will definitely recommend it to any friends going to the area. read more
