There truly are not enough words to fully express our gratitude for the care we have received at Premier OBGYN. It has taken me nearly a week to find the right words for this review, and even now I feel it falls short of capturing the exceptional care we have experienced.
Reviews matter. The vulnerability women and families experience during pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic care makes it important to share experiences that are positive and empowering, even in the midst of hardship. Providers who care for patients through difficult moments with grace and compassion deserve to be recognized so more families know this kind of care exists.
Our experiences with this practice has spanned both the happiest and most devastating moments of our lives.
My husband and I want to recognize Dr. Hervey. While we initially came to him for obstetric care, he became an important source of support through some of the most heartbreaking experiences our family has faced. Over multiple pregnancy losses, he consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical expertise while treating us with empathy and respect. He always took time to listen, answer questions, and acknowledge both the medical and emotional realities of what we were facing.
One thing that stood out is that he never dismissed our losses as simply "common." While miscarriage may be common, the loss of a child is never insignificant. He never lost sight of the fact that these were our children and that they mattered.
Two weeks ago, we delivered our baby girl after another devastating late pregnancy loss. Walking into the hospital knowing we would meet and say goodbye to our baby on the same day was one of the hardest moments of our lives, especially after a previous miscarriage only months earlier. Throughout this experience, Dr. Hervey treated our baby and family with dignity and compassion. He guided us through difficult decisions, supported us at every step, and helped ensure our birth plan was honored with care. While no physician can take away this kind of pain, his presence during one of the darkest moments of our lives has left a lasting impact that we will never forget. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Hervey, the nursing staff at Banner University Medical Center, and our doula for helping us honor our daughter and create a healing birth experience we never thought possible. What could have remained a traumatic experience became the beginning of our healing journey.
One of the things we value most about Dr. Hervey is his commitment to patient-centered care and informed decision making. He has always reminded me that I am the decision maker in my care and that his role is to provide education and support so we can make the best decisions for our family. We experienced this same commitment with Melissa Christensen, (Midwife), two years earlier. Informed consent and shared decision making are clearly core values throughout this practice.
We would also like to acknowledge Carrie, PA-C, who supported me after one of our losses and helped address both physical and emotional recovery. We are grateful the practice recognizes the importance of caring for the whole patient.
We also met Rosie, Nurse Practitioner, during an early pregnancy visit. Given our history, we were very anxious, and she was extremely kind and reassuring. Finally, we would like to recognize Jessica and Shonda with the billing team for their patience and help navigating ALL my insurance and billing questions.
One additional note: Premier OBGYN is a busy practice, and appointments may occasionally run behind. While this can be frustrating for some patients, it's important to understand the delays often reflect providers giving extra time to families facing medical challenges or just in need of extra support. We hope patients extend grace and understanding. We have found that the compassion, attentiveness, and professionalism of this team are well worth the wait.
I could write a book about the exemplary care we have received, but we hope this review conveys a small part of our gratitude. Thank you Premier! read more
