I had already written a review and it seems that it was either not published or deleted somehow. Basically, I was verbally attacked at this place by one of the receptionists. I was literally told that I needed to leave. Mind you, I was simply quietly standing in the lobby. I hadn't said one word to anyone. She repeatedly said this, without giving me any explanation. She finally did tell my partner some bull about a rule that didn't allow customers to just stand in the lobby. Mind you, there is no sign of this "rule" anywhere in this place. We didn't read this on their website either. To add insult to injury, when I complained and wasn't happy with their response, the owner told me not to come back and gave me the rest of the money for the puppy package (so, at least it was a good thing to get my money back). I do not recommend this place to anyone like me. I feel that this receptionist's actions were racially motivated. I also feel that the owner condoned her actions. We had paid $220 just that day and were willing to use that clinic for our puppy's needs in the future. I guess they don't want our money. So, we took our business elsewhere. read more

I've been to multiple vets and clinics in the valley for my pets over the past few years, and this place is by FAR one of the best. Dr. Waldo and his staff clearly care for both the owners and their pets, and it is obvious that their goal is to try and keep pets healthy so they can stay in homes rather than going to a shelter. I took my dog to their tri-weekly clinic for a heart worm test so that she could get back on the preventative chews (i always have her on flea/tick and heart worm preventative during the summer months when we hike alot) and needed to get her retested. The staff was super friendly, and Dr. Waldo knew what he was doing. Seriously, a huge thanks from my family to Tempe Pet Clinic for being an honest practice... that is rare nowadays. I paid over $100 for a heartworm test and a month supply of pills at the normal vet, but it was well under $100 here. They are a legit practice who genuinely cares more about the animal than profit. I don't ever write reviews, but this place saved me when I didn't know what else to do. I was getting married on Friday out of town, and the people that were supposed to watch my dog cancelled last minute. I didn't know what to do. I looked into pet hotels to find that I could only book if her vaccines were up to date, and we had forgotten to get her latest dose. I had 2 days to get her vaccines up to date, or I probably would've had to cancel my wedding. I called 4-5 other clinics and none could get me in. I called the Tempe Pet Clinic and they were able to work me in within an hour. Now, my pup is vaccinated and ready to go to the hotel. I am so grateful for this clinic. The staff was super nice and accommodating and the clinic was clean. Overall, just a great place that saved my wedding day! read more

I never leave review but this is a great clinic to get your vaccines and spay/neuter for a good price. The two front desk girls Shannon and the one with the glasses are both super sweet and know what they're talking about. They are always really friendly and manage the line really well. My only issue was my pet's spaying. There was a miscommunication and they gave her a microchip when I said no and while they were trying to figure it out, the blonde lady from the back came out to tell me I signed the paper and I told her I did but I signed it saying no, and I had someone come with me and he corroborated my story of me saying no. So the blonde lady goes to the back and someone asks her what happened (I think it was the woman I originally bought the puppy plan from and she was very sweet and knowledgeable as well) and she says "She wants a microchip but doesn't want to pay for it" essentially accusing me of stealing in front of everyone! I felt like that was very rude and my problem wasn't necessarily with the microchip I understand miscommunications happen, but implying that I am trying to pull something for no reason is insane. I ended up not wanting to deal with it or be called a thief so I just told Shannon I would pay for it. She was super sweet and understanding, I was just upset at being called a thief. Overall I've had a great experience here but I just felt calling me a thief was uncalled for when it was a miscommunication between the woman who was filling out the paperwork in the morning and I. Just felt very disrespected as she automatically assumed I was stealing. read more

I called and made an appointment a week in advance to get my 1 year old male cat fixed. We arrived at 6:30 am (which they said was their drop off time) and was informed of everything they would be doing. They would start surgery around 9:30 and pickup is around 4:30. They called at 12:00 saying that he was done! I went straight down to the clinic and quickly paid and asked any questions I had. They answered everything and I left in a timely manner. They provided me with a cone to use for proper healing. When I got home, I realized that I had forgotten to ask a question that I had and I called. The front desk answered and did not make me feel like a bother. 3 days later, they called to check up on my cat and his incision and make sure that I still did not have any questions, which was very thoughtful. I highly recommend this clinic. They are very reasonably price and handle themselves professionally!! read more

Dr. Waldo was recommended to my wife and me for our toy poodle Kodi. We had followed Dr. Waldo over the past 13 years as he established his practice in the Metro east side. Most importantly, Dr. Waldo took care of our little guy through a serious fall resulting in arthritic hips. He assisted Kodi when his esophagus collapsed. We had Kodi for a little more than 14 years but knew his days were numbered. Dr. Waldo was kind and caring while helping us make our last decision for our buddy. Although we were heartbroken, Dr. Waldo's compassion was beyond anything we could have expected. He helped relieve Kodi's pain for a day while we said our good bye. I understand doing business and not taking too long on each patient, but maybe try to at least fake it that you're in a good mood or are happy to help us. All us customers want is for our pet to be safe, and I feel like I am constantly burdening the staff whenever I call or come in. My dog was neutered back in September 2019. His neuter got infected and he ended up with an abscess that burst. I had to take him to an emergency vet they cleaned his original neuter and flushed out the abscess. I had to follow up with my regular vet because the abscess was still not healing well. He was put on another anabiotic. I went back to the vet today November 25, 2019 because I noticed a lump where he had been neutered the vet checked him out and and he was able to visually see the stitches trying to push it out of his body. The stitches never dissolved. I do not recommend this place. read more

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! DR STEVEN WALDO REMOVED ALL HIS FRONT TEETH SO HE COULD MAKE MORE $$. I took Marley there for a cleaning, he always had teeth cleanings regularly. Just prior to his cleaning he hurt himself, we took him to 1st Pet urgent care they gave him some medication to relieve the pain I have a complete dental exam report from them stating his "teeth had some tartar, no decay, nothing loose." I'm devastated, when I picked up Marley my bill went from $250 to $390. I asked front girl why my bill was so high she said they extracted 3 teeth then I asked to speak to Dr Waldo. Dr Waldo came out to the waiting room I also asked him how many teeth were removed he said one tooth was loose and a large molar tooth was cracked that's all. He never stated that he took all his front teeth (8) and one molar. IM SO SO UPSET I TOOK MARLEY THERE.. read more

I came upon this Pet Clinic from a friend. BEST CLINIC EVER! The staff is so kind, so professional and so loving. The receptionist, Rylie melted my heart with her kindness. They CARE ABOUT OUR PETS and they CARE ABOUT US as parents. They listened to my concerns and honored them. I had my 10 yr old pup's teeth cleaned and some teeth removed. When I picked her up later in the day - she came out wagging her tail! I thought she would be dizzy and lethargic-like. No Way. Dr. Waldo is compassionate beyond. His staff praise him and agreed with my views on his outstanding qualities. Waited 2 1/2 hours with 2 little 11lbs dogs in the heat!!! Terrible attitude from the blonde desk clerk, she should be fired! no conscious to do what she did! if I had not been traveling out of town tomorrow I would have left after an hour to go to our regular vet but kept thinking I should be very close to next NOPE and my dog needed her rabies. Other people were taken that walked up after me, so I went in and inquired, she assured me they are numbered so I still had to wait. However a lady w/litter of puppies showed up after I had already been sitting there over an 1 1/2 hours and the wait cleaned out, and they went in before me. I finally lost my cool and that's why I'm making this review! Vet is great, the prices are great but the blonde at the front desk should probably lose her job. When you come in, make sure to check the "number" they have on the paperwork for the drop in clinic, then wait until the next person gets there's to see where you are in line. She didn't like that I reported they already had all of my information in their system so there was no need to fill out the exact same paperwork info they already had, but I did sign it and placed the dogs name and put see records. Well, apparently that made her mad so she decided to place me LAST of all walk ins and covered it up by the number explanation, but she couldn't cover up that this litter of puppies who I waited with an hour, came up 1 1/2 hrs AFTER I WAS ALREADY THERE. I hope her employer takes note. She can lie to her employer at that vet practice, but trust me, vindictive manipulative people like her are dangerous, and at the cost of 2 tiny little dogs. I lost out on another appointment I had scheduled that morning and the stress was SO HARD ON MY DOGS, so hard!!! shame on her! I hope she gets caught. For the record, the vet apologized, said he didn't now what happened but I know. I hope he reads this review and then watches her carefully! I cannot be the first one she's done this to!!! read more

I brought my dog to get spayed and get her vaccines here.. at first when I dropped her off. everything was fine, they have a 6 AM to 7 PM time to drop off your pet then pick them up around 330-4. When it was time to pick up mine Puppy the lady in the front desk first overcharge me... and then when I asked to see the doctor they said I had to pay $15 for an appointment. I got almost no information on what I should be expecting and how the procedure was other than a piece of paper that stated some common symptoms. I also have to go back three weeks after the first appointment Which when I asked the lady at front she said I can just walk in from 8 to 9 AM if I wanted to be free other than that I just paid $15 to set an appointment for the doctor. This place is so mind blowing how everybody is disconnected and nobody communicates with each other and after this last shot I will never be going here again. Save your money and go somewhere that takes care of your pet right! read more

They are great to work with, are continuing the same model with low cost services, and adding some great full-service options. DO NOT USE if you're looking for quality care and professional/experienced staff. Took my puppy for her 3rd round of shots and left traumatized. Puppy vaccination was not administered carefully which caused pain and screaming. Ran to the back to check on puppy as I was asked to stay in the lobby only to see staff showing attitude for my concern and lack of empathy towards my puppy in pain. Their eye rolls, attitude, and carelessness caused me to request a refund for the remaining shots (paid for puppy plan). Secretary apologized saying technician who administered shot was new and would be talked to. Did not receive adequate explanation for refund amount received which was different than amount originally stated. Generic paperwork received stating refund amount, no details provided regarding how total was calculated. Horrible service. Save yourself the anxiety and find a quality clinic with experienced staff (both techs and secretaries). Puppy has continued to yelp at home and will be taken for a check up if pain continues in the coming days. read more

I will not bring another pet here. I brought my cat in on Friday 2/15 to get neutered. They said that pick up is anytime between 4:00-5:30pm, but would call if my cat was done earlier. They left me a voicemail around 1:30pm saying that he was all done and ready to be picked up, and that their phones were down. I did attempt to get ahold of them over and over again to let them know my boyfriend would be picking him up around 3:30pm because I had to work, but could not get ahold of anyone due to the phones being down. When my boyfriend picked him up, it was clear that they left our cat in his carrier the entire time. When my boyfriend picked up the carrier, with the cat inside of it, pee poured out of. My car was completely soaked and covered in his own pee because they left him in his carrier the entire time, and because he just had surgery, we can't even give him a bath. We bought bath wipes to try to clean him off and attempt to make him smell better. Days later and he still smells like his own pee. I do not recommend bringing your pet here unless you can pick them up as soon as they call you that your pet is ready. read more
