Mike (owner?) answered and said he would send out Stephan that afternoon at 2:00 p.m.. I left to take a return to the USPS on Red Oak but couldn't get away in time for the appointment. Stephan called as I was leaving the Post Office and he agreed to wait until I got home. Stephan quickly diagnosed the problem (failed capacitor) and had a replacement in hand. He explained the cost, which was more than fair. Stephan quickly installed the replacement and tested to insure it was working properly. He went inside and checked and adjusted the thermostat at no additional charge. High quality work at a more than fair price. I'll definitely use this provider in the future.

I explained that I was unaware that Comfort Squad was bought out by Mr. Reliable, so I called them for a service because my drain from the hvac drip pan appeared to be draining quite a bit from the hose in the attic. I have a service plan with Comfort Squad, so I called them to see if there is a bigger problem or a clog. The service tech came for 5 min and said you need a plumber because your sink on the other side of the house is draining slowly and that is probably the issue. Ultimately, that may be the issue, but as I said the tech was here maybe 5 min. He then states the cost is $50.00. I said for what. You have been here 5 min. I state I have a service plan from Comfort Squad, even at that point he still does not point out that Comfort Squad was bought out and we don't use their service plan. He said, I will let the office know. So then the office calls me and states that I have a charge of $50.00. I explain, I had a service plan, and that the tech was here for 5 minutes or less. So I say, go a head and invoice me, I think this is BS but go ahead and invoice me. The dispatch manager then tells me how they are no longer Comfort Squad and I asked why haven't you sent out a notice to all of the past clients of Comfort Squad and let us know what changes to expect. He then states, "well we can not come out for any new services until the $50.00 is paid." This is where I felt insulted because I already requested the invoice and said I was going to pay, why are you telling me if I do not pay..." Unfortunately, I am extremely dissatisfied with this entire process. Because now that I think of it, why didn't the person I set the appointment with yesterday on the phone inform me it would be $50.00 and that they were no longer Comfort Squad. It's unfortunate because I brought business to Comfort Squad because they had such spectacular service. What a change...

He was polite and friendly as well as did a great job. Other companies we tried, the technicians were in and out in 15 minutes. That's not acceptable for a generator. Fernando spent about 30 minutes testing everything out and making sure it was good to go for hurricane season. I have 100% confidence that my generator will function perfectly should the need arise. We use Malek exclusively, for the last several years, for the maintenance on our GENERAC. After going 21 days without power after Ike, we invested in a Generator, which needs regular service. Their prices are very competitive and we do end up saving money. They come out, change the oil, make sure all of the bells and whistles are functioning properly. They are always kind, helpful, & professional. Today they told us about a new program theory offering, a program for home warranty for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The price was amazing, we're saving $40 a month compared to Sears. While Fernando was here, we mentioned that are dishwasher is malfunctioning. Fernando went to the truck and called the office and had him take pictures of the issue. We just received a call and got an appointment for tomorrow to fix the issue. They would have come today, but the issue isn't so terrible that we need to interrupt someone's dinner, tomorrow is perfectly fine. I highly recommend this service for home repairs. Because of the extent of repairs needed, we decided to just go ahead and repipe the whole darn house and from start to finish and HaLo was phenomenal. As most of TX knows it's been hard to get a hold of any plumber, but Karen and their crew were remarkably responsive and got back to me when they said they would every time. We did have to wait a little to get on the schedule but it was for a reason I appreciated: while supplies were limited they were trying to help the most people instead of sinking all of their materials into one job. They helped me avoid cutting into wood paneling and built in bookcases that would have been a nightmare to repair by moving a hose bib. And when the job was over Nayar was very patient with me when I asked him to give me an overview of where all the lines were located in case I had to trouble shoot anything. Also, the employees who only spoke Spanish were so kind in dealing with my poorly mangled Spanish - So. Kind. It's been about a week since my job was done now, and all the lines are fully functional with no issues!

My experience with Halo was extremely frustrating. A drainage project that began around July 8 took…read moreabout a month to complete, leaving a trench around my home and delaying other work, including roofing, electrical, and AC repairs. The biggest issue was a nearly $6,000 change order for a bathroom drain addition that was clearly identified in the drain inspection provided to the owner before the project was quoted. That inspection recommended replacing both older cast-iron systems with PVC. I was told the report was not fully reviewed before the quote was prepared because the owner receives too many reports and is usually rushed. Unfortunately, that lack of review resulted in a major added cost. There were also property-damage issues. My sidewalk and sprinkler cable were damaged during the work. I had to push back repeatedly after initially being told the damage may have been caused by me or my subcontractors. Communication and customer service were also disappointing. I found the project manager dismissive, and my request for a site meeting with the owner after the first major issue was ignored. The project total nearly doubled. When I requested a resolution, I was offered a split of the cost of the quoting error rather than removal of it. On a Friday evening, I was told the error would be removed; by Saturday morning, I received a threat and a promise of a lien. I cannot recommend Halo based on the inaccurate quoting, property damage, prolonged disruption, and handling of these concerns.
