From there it travels northward, stopping every few blocks. Streetcars run every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends. The train interiors are similar to TRAX, albeit much smaller in size. It seems this line is intended for residents that live close to this line to get on TRAX as well as TRAX riders traveling north or southbound to get to Sugar House. Given the relatively short distance of this streetcar line, which is about 2 miles, it seems like the S Line has limited appeal. I think a bus could serve the same purpose at a lower cost. Though if they do intend to expand the line, I could see some justification for it.

I'm not giving it 5…read morestars comparing it to the Ritz Carlton, but based on what it is: ski loding! 1) GREAT location -- walkable to the Town Lift and all Main Street restaurants. There is a bus stop directly outside of the condo complex. 2) Totally find lodging -- it's a little dated on the decoration but the unit I stayed in (129) was remodeled and had fancy glass bowl sinks and did just fine. For 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit--there was a queen bed, 2 twin beds, and 2 sofas (1 pulled out to a bed, I believe). Full kitchen, fully stocked if you wanted to cook. Big dining table and all. It was something like $500/night including all taxes and fees (booked through Sports America) so it wasn't so bad for the value. One downside: if you check in after 10pm, you have to go to Park PEAKS hotel to pick up your keys--IT IS NOT REALLY WALKING DISTANCE. So you have to have your shuttle/taxi stop at the Peaks hotel to get your keys before getting in. They just do the Park Station a favor by working late and distributing the keys; they're not even related. All in all, great place to stay. Nothing fancy, but 5 stars for value, location and just overall a great place.

The condo is very close to town and everything is within walking distance especially the Town Lift. We stayed here two night and completely enjoyed our stay. The comfortable beds and cozy fireplace are just a couple of the things that made this place our favorite. We also met some really nice people at the hot tub, all of whom had nothing buy nice things to say about Tuck. Next time we are in Park City we will definitely be staying here. When we came home, my wife had accidently left her brand new I-Phone on the train. The next morning, I called the Lost and Found department. They told me that nothing had been turned in, yet, but Cecilia asked a lot of VERY IMPORTANT questions and was very friendly and very professional the whole time. I waited, over the weekend, then tried the call again on Monday morning. Cecilia informed me that the phone had not been turned in as of yet. I pinged the phone and it showed that the phone was sitting inside the train building in Midvale. I drove over and spoke with a couple of guys who made a phone call. Nathan Wojnowski appeared and told me he would assist me. We searched for approx 2 or more hours!! Nathan informed me that this had turned out to be a quest, for him, and he wasn't going to stop looking. We finally found the phone. I want to thank NATHAN WOJNOWSKI for being such an AWESOME person!! You just don't find that anymore!! Thank you SOOOOOOO VERY MUCH NATHAN!!!! This station is very exposed to the elements. It's a fairly large hub at the intersection of the…read morefront runner train that goes from Ogden to Provo and the green train that goes from the airport straight to downtown Salt Lake City. It gets heavy foot traffic and I have found my average wait time to be around a half hour. With the wait being so considerable, they only have covered benches with glass window panes behind them to protect from rain and the ever present wind. It does have screens that tell you how many minutes until the next train. It is accurate and very helpful. If it had restrooms and wifi like the front runner, better wind protected waiting areas and heaters for the winter months I would feel much more comfortable while waiting for my next train. From 90 degrees in the summer to 30 degrees in the winter, this station provides the bare minimum in comfort and protection.

TRAX runs seven days per week, and every 15-minute during peak times. It's electrically powered via a pantograph that connects the train to overhead catenary wires. Trains can range in length from one to four cars depending on time, day & projected ridership. We purchased our fares before boarding at an on-platform ticket vending machine. We tap our ticket on the card reader before boarding & after exiting the train. In 1999, the 1st segment of TRAX opened on Dec. 4, 1999, and connected riders from Salt Lake City to Sandy. Today, TRAX has 3 lines: the Blue Line from Draper to Salt Lake City, the Red Line from South Jordan to the University of Utah and the Green Line from West Valley to the Salt Lake International Airport, for a total 42.5 miles of line and 50 stations. The City Creek Center Station is near our Marriott and in front of the city Creek shopping center. The blue or green line will take us two stops to courthouse where we can walk to the library and Washington Square, Park.

I love mass transit! I was happy to hear years ago when they announced the city was going to put…read moreTrax lines in. No worrying about parking your car. This location is fairly close to one of our major hospitals in town, but is still a bit of a walk to get to it. I don't see using Trax if you have some kind of medical condition that stops you from walking over to the hospital. To bad it doesn't drop you off or pick you up right at the hospital entrance. Side note: When I was in Washington D.C. (Crystal City) the hotel I was staying at had a train line that stopped right at the hotel. It was nice to just hop on the train right from my hotel. UTA has added a few other offshoot lines from the major one that runs North and South, parallel to State Street. Let's be honest...we live in the West, and when this city was planned out, they didn't plan ahead for over crowding, and businesses and housing to be so spread apart. If you travel to a city where mass transit works, you will find most of what you need in walking distance from the station, even housing. This is NOT the case here. In fact most "stations" are out of the way. You either have to drive to, or ride the bus, to actually catch the Trax, which kinda defeats the purpose of mass transit. Let's say if you ride the Trax downtown, you are able to walk around without a car, if you don't mind walking large block sizes. Think of the strip in Vegas. You look out onto the strip, and you see a casino you want to go to, because of an optical illusion, you head out because it's just right there, and you tell yourself... just a few more steps. The reality is the casino you want to go to is really blocks, and blocks, and blocks if not miles further than your eye told you it would be. That's what the distance from the Trax line is to the establishment you intend to go to here. In order for Trax to really service the valley they will need to put more lines in, to access places that people frequent, and build closer to the Trax lines. Trains are on the small size, and are weirdly designed. A lot of wasted space in the train cars. Trains run smooth, and run on time, unless there is a problem. like someone thinking they can beat the train, and they collide. Trains are pretty much empty except during rush hour, and you are going to/from downtown, or for events that are downtown. They keep raising prices which is a deterrent for some people that would ride the Trax, but opt not to, because it's cheaper to drive your car. I wish our county, and specifically our city, was walking friendly, but it just isn't. It's to far to actually walk from Trax to most businesses. They do have Car Parks to leave your car while you ride the Trax, which helps keep cars off the roads. I have noticed that more, and more apartment buildings are being built within walking distance to each Trax station, this helps, but this isn't going to help getting to your final destination unless it is a conceivable walking distance especially during our winters here.
