We stopped by on the way home for a couple of reasons: it was close to home and they have good food and large portions, usually we get 2 days out of 1 meal. On this day they had some crabs left over and we took advantage of that. They are prepared by Lady Frances just down the road for $3 each. My husband loves corned beef, he just does not pick crabs. Hostile Holy displayed no empathy or understanding to this customer who seeked shelter from hurricane force winds, heavy rain, lightning, downed trees, and road closures. I explained I had come from a pool party thus only carried my drivers license and some cash. I brought this to Holy's attention voluntarily. She became rude, nasty, and called me a name. Turkey Point road was blocked from all traffic. I could not get home to retrieve my wallet. I explained that I was a neighbor and would return asap. She kept my drivers license as collateral. We tried again on 2/1/2026 for dinner. The specials looked good on paper But that's it. Wife had Chicken Cheasapeake that was as dry,over cooked to deatth. When it's hard to cut chicken with a knife you can imagine how the crab topping was. Overall the dish was not eatable. I had pork chops that were also cooked to death. Beyond tuff Shoe leather. All of the same people work here and patron which is nice but they don't invest much into the establishment. duck tape holds some cracked tiles together in the lady's room. A huge hole in the base board.And the front door is semi shattered but still usable .Prior to noticing these things I ordered lemon pepper wings.They looked freezer burnt.I was told they looked like that because the grease was fresh.NO THANKS!..The crab night use to be my favorite night you would get big juicy crabs sold at $1 each..I paid $3 per crab & these don't even look regulation-sized. Wings! Only reason we go. Tuesday night, 25 cents, lots of sauces to choose, I recommend the standard hot wing and the honey mustard wings. Bar setting with tables around it. My BFF told me that she heard that the Tempo Lounge has really great food, so we always like trying new places. The Tempo Lounge has been around for years but I had never been there. So when we went inside we were welcomed as if we were friends already. We ordered a cheesesteak sub, which was the best sub I've had in years. The flavor was the best. It was served on a toasted roll which made a big difference. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to go back!! read more

I was a regular customer of tempo lounge every Friday and some Saturdays for the past 2 years. I went this this past New Yar's Eve. They were offering karokae and a buffet. When wer first arrived, we saw people who were not regulars being denied access to the buffet. There were 3 people in my party, I had a beer with my food, but the other 2 chose not to have drinks until after we ate. The manager camu up to our table and said "are you two going to have drinks and not just drink water all night? The buffet is expensive and we are not going to make any money off of water." Needless to say, we chose not to spend any money there, nor will we ever step foot in there again. If this is how management chooses to treat customers they do not deserve for anyone to spend their money in there. read more

Also, I was raised in Essex and the Tempo has been there as long as I can remember so I figured it must be decent. Surprisingly, it was! Great pit beef stand!! Food is great and you can go inside and drink a cold draft while you eat your sandwich. Plenty of televisions if you like sports and the staff is very nice and welcoming. They also have an ice cream and snow ball stand but we did not use that during our visit. Great neighborhood dive bar. Will visit again. They do have a craft beer selection which always nakes me happy. The food was pretty good, the crowd is mature and friendly. They no longer have pool tables which is dissapointing if you prefer games like we do. The place itself has good space but I don't think they utilize it well, needs a bit of a facelift for sure. I went to the Tempo because it's close to where my mom lives and I wanted to grab a bite to eat. It's a dive bar and the decor showed it. The staff were all very nice, the owner was there and actually came and talked to us. The food was good and pretty cheap. The beer selection was decent and the bar tender made a great Jack and Coke. There was a deck so we were able to go outside with our drinks and smoke. All in all, it's a cool little place to eat but nothing fancy. read more

Best wings in Baltimore and, more importantly, best wing night in Baltimore. This is not an area that most Baltimore County residents frequent, but they should. The wings are gargantuan and, if you like heat, the Blazin' Wings bring it without sacrificing flavor. Damn shame. I was a regular for years. After it changed owners, prices have gone up and service has gone way down. Takes forever to get a drink or even pay your tab at the end of the night. The last time I was there I stood at the bar waited 25 minutes to pay. There were only about 6 other patrons there. New barmaids are lazy and apathetic. I hate to say it but it's the truth. Stopped in to watch the Orioles game after I saw the place on the internet. Everyone was eating crabs so I asked the bartender If I could order them at the bar. She said yes and brought them to me within 5 minutes. I found out it was crab night and they have them ready for people that come in to the bar. I actually ate them right at the bar and got to watch the game. The crabs were really good. The bartender was nice and the had a great selection of beers for a neighborhood bar. It is a locals place but everyone was very friendly. They also have Keno which I played for a while I was watching the game. I travel to the area once a month and will definitely go back to eat and catch a game. read more
