This a very low key bar vibe spot, but it got the job done for what it needed to do. They have a decent outside patio area and a good amount of parking. The view was nice and you'd be able to see the sunset. I cannot comment on the food directly because I didnt eat, but they have plenty of bar food options and crabs that other people seemed to have enjoyed. At 9pm they started music with a DJ on the inside and at 10pm the music got better with more of a party vibe. At 10pm, apparently 2 for 1 drinks also started.

Brewers Landing We love to go to Brewers Landing by boat. It is right on the water in Essex, Maryland and you are surrounded by nature on three sides. It is a casual, fun funky kind of place. There's plenty of car parking in the front and there are several jet, ski landing pads, and a pier with plenty of cleats for boat dockage. The draft (water depth) into and out of the cover is shallow outside of the channel so be certain to stay inside of the markers. We have gone there for brunch on Sunday mornings several times. The food is so good in the morning. Their breakfast menu has the full compliment of everything you might like for breakfast. We usually get omelettes and basically something similar to a grand slam breakfast. Breakfast is very fresh/cooked to order. Extremely reasonable prices for all of the food. Another thing we like to do is to visit Brewers Landing for the live music. It's usually pretty busy but we've never not been able to find a seat. Everyone is there listening to music, dancing and having a good time. You can get hot fresh steamed crabs or a pit beef sandwich like we did on the day that we went to see the band Experience. Their menu is extensive. The food is always very good. It's a casual, laid-back place, so it's not fine dining, but it's always good for an afternoon of fun. The staff is always friendly and it is always busy (the sign of a popular place with good food), but they hustle. Everything comes out as ordered in a relatively fast time. It's a great place to go if you love to watch sunsets on the water, too. Convenient to the 695 Beltway as well, you just get off at the Eastern Avenue exit and head towards Essex. We hope you can make it there some day.

Bacon cheese fries- large portion! I think you can order them with cheddar or sleazy cheese. We opted for cheddar

Very cool ambience and setup. Inside bar is decent and partially two-tiered. Our one server was awesome and on point but a few others weren't as attentive. They have an outside bar and lots of outdoor tables. Sandy area with some chairs too. Outdoor stage for bands is excellent. I would go back solely for their mussels! Ribs were not super meaty but were tender, fell off the bone, and had a great flavor. You can pull your boat up too! Might be tighter for some larger boats- but call and ask.

Steamed Shrimp with potatoes and onions, huge soft shell crab sandwich with the legs extending out of the bun.

Remember folks, this is a rowdy dive bar on the water in Essex. If you want top service and a white tablecloth, you need to go downtown. We love Brewers Landing for what it is. You can get an icy bucket of beers and sit outside. The water views are nice. Indoors is all about the sports in the big screens. The food is good if a little heavy on the salt. In summer, they have a connection with a local waterman and you can't get fresher crabs as they come direct from the water. But don't expect crabs anytime. Don't expect perfect service, the place gets crowded. The servers are hustling. The French have the Rivera, we in Essex got Brewers Landing.

On a drizzly Friday evening, we headed to Brewer's Landing for a social gathering for the Harley Owners Group. It was disappointing that we could not sit out on the patio overlooking the water due to the weather. Nevertheless, the staff at Brewer's made us feel so welcome and took such excellent care of our large group of about 30. Brittany was the main server, and she was just incredible. How she managed to keep everyone and their drink and food order straight was beyond me. She did it effortlessly. The Seafood Club Wrap had my name on it. The wrap had a fried crab cake, shrimp salad, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce & tomato. My husband really likes Cheese Steak subs, so that was what he ordered. Both came with chips and a pickle. We were very satisfied. Many in our group said the Friday Night Special of 10 Butterfly shrimp with one side was a steal at $7.99. We thought the food and service were terrific. Thanks for taking such good care of our large group!

The Chicken Parmesan sandwich I had last night was on point and my girlfriend had a very good chicken quesadilla as well. Prices are pretty reasonable. My only beef is with the service. The bar is a little "cliquey" from several observations. The regulars seem to get waited on immediately and a newcomer gets a "I'll be right with you". No placemats, no silverware, no napkins seems to be the norm. Had to ask for ketchup when my fries came out after getting chips by mistake. We will most likely go back though, especially since The Bird River Inn changed their whole menu and did away with most of our favorite menu items. Everything is smoked now and very salty. If you're looking for ambience, you may want to try somewhere else. The Dugout is a hole in the wall dive bar and has been for decades...just the way the regulars like it!

They have one pool table where APA league members usually play, a shuffle board, and a number of TVs for sports games (although they are not HD). I could tell this was a local go-to for many of the customers at this bar especially since they all seemed to know each other. Our bartender was very friendly with helping us decide what to order. We got the Belly Buster Fried Fish sub ($8.99), with a side of fries (an extra $2) and Italian Cold Cut ($9.50), with a side of chips (free), along with a Loose Cannon ($5.00) & Grapefruit Crush ($6.00). The subs were pretty good. The fried cod (I believe it was) was nice and crispy and the tartar sauce paired perfectly to cut the richness of the grease. The portion was definitely money's worth. The cold cuts in my sub were fresh. There was enough acid to not make the bread soggy. The grapefruit crush was very icy. I noticed the bartender made it by blending a grapefruit fruit cup with ice and some grapefruit-vodka. When I was done with my first drink, she poured the rest of the mixture from the blender into my glass, which I thought was very nice. All in all, dugout tavern is a hidden gem that has great food and service. There is also parking on site and outdoor seating.

The food was good and we enjoyed our meal, but as a wheelchair user, I wanted to share a few constructive accessibility concerns in hopes management can address them for future guests: Restroom Stall Door: The accessible stall door opens inward, making it impossible to maneuver a wheelchair inside to close it. Reversing the door to swing outward would fix this immediately. Handwashing Station: The sink in the back for washing hands after eating seafood is operated entirely by foot pedals, making it completely inaccessible for anyone who cannot use their feet. A hand-operated lever or motion sensor is needed. I reached out directly to management with these specific concerns a week ago and have not received a reply. Great food and atmosphere, but the accessibility barriers and lack of follow-up on these issues need attention.

Instead, we spent the night surrounded by security. I didn't have my ID on me when I tried to order a mixed drink which I completely understood and didn't argue about , but it felt completely over the top. The whole staff seemed to get involved over something minor, and security even came over to tap our table and warn us not to touch a drink that was sitting on my wife's side. Imagine trying to eat a family dinner in your late 20s while being treated like that. To make matters worse, they seated us outside in the darkest, dingiest corner of the restaurant with no lights, no fan, and spiders everywhere, even though plenty of better tables with lights and fans were wide open. Our server, Kaylee, was terrible. We didn't get water until 20 minutes after sitting down. After our appetizers arrived, we realized we had no plates or silverware. When our main entrees came out, we still had zero utensils, so I had to walk up to the bar to get them myself. And the food was just as bad I ordered the stuffed rockfish, and it came out rubbery and nasty. To top it all off, they slapped an 18% auto gratuity onto an $75 bill for a table of three (two adults and a toddler). You will never survive as a business if you keep treating customers this way. Good luck.

The entire place has been updated and expanded and there is still more work in progress. We arrived around five on a very busy St. Patrick's for dinner. We were meeting very good friends and were excited to spend some time together. The decor was so fun and the place was hopping. Even though all of the staff seemed to be extremely busy, we were allowed to wait for a table that would seat us comfortably while being a bit out of the way of the hubbub. The redone U-shaped bar area is very large with plenty of seating at the bar and around it. There are multiple long, high top tables too. The other side of the restaurant is filled with booths and tables with plenty of room to accommodate any size party. I saw tables that fit at least 10 people there. There is also an outdoor area that is under construction, but looks like it will be a very nice addition to the bar. Now on to the food and the drinks. They had so many specials for St. Patrick's Day and a large variety of them too rather than just the typical corned beef and cabbage or Ruben's. They had lots of other Irish delicacies like shepherds pie, and bangers and mash. They had all kinds of drink specials, including green margaritas, Guinness, and lots of other fancy drinks to choose from. They have plenty of beers on top and basically a full bar where you can get anything to wet your whistle. I had a two guys burger, which was basically a bacon cheeseburger, and it was cooked to perfection (not to mention it was probably close to a half pound of ground beef on that burger) along with some fries and a salad. My friend had a Reuben, which she thought was very good. My husband who loves hot turkey sandwiches ended up getting one of those and a side salad too. It was made with fresh turkey and we all know how that kicks it up a notch. Other friend got the meatloaf, which was good, but there was cheese on top and he wasn't a big fan of that. They have daily specials with lots to choose from. We had the $1 wings and were delighted with the many choices of sauces. There were so many customers coming in constantly for their carry out, too. Everything was fresh. The prices were great. Everything was very tasty and the atmosphere was fun without being too noisy. We can't wait to go back and try it again soon.

We have never had a bad experience there. Breakfast is always a winner. People are very friendly.read more
