Food was pretty good and portion sizes also good, not expensive. Staff was friendly men and women. Place is clean. They do beer buckets if you ask. We saw a mixed age group. This is a homey, quaint pub that I have visited a couple of times in the distant past and have found it to be consistent. The menu is pretty ambitious and left me wondering how they can do it all and do it well? For starters I chose the Slow Braised Beef Chili Crock Soup, it came with corn chips. The bowl is topped with melted Cheddar Jack Cheese. Its presentation resembled french onion soup. There were a substantial number of jalapeño slices embedded in the cheese. It looked great, I dug in and the chili itself was barely warm, sent it back to be heated. This also happened to the other person who had the same order. The chili was good, but the jalapeños slices overwhelmed everything in it.Way too much heat from a pepper. With this I ordered a small House Salad, balsamic vinaigrette on the side. The salad was fresh. The chili and salads were delivered together to the 2 of us in a group The rest of the group ordered a cheesesteak sub and Oysters Rockefeller, they were pleased with their selections. The delay in the 2 other orders was too much of a lag. Our server was new to her job here and did ok, a bit scattered. When dining out, all orders should be delivered at the same time and not a significant time period between, this was a good 5 minute lag. Portions were generous. After seeing several positive posts about Woody's on social media, we decided to give their carry out a try (during the Covid pandemic). We stayed in the car the entire time and they brought food out to us. The seafood smothered chips (a special) were fantastic. There were large shrimp, tons of crab dip, and a lot of cheese. My sons enjoyed their cheesesteaks. Our only difficulty was in ordering as the line was busy. A second line or the ability to order online would be helpful. We will definitely be giving them another try soon! read more

I've been to this location three times and all times were bar side. Service is slightly slower if you like a fast pace. However, the bartenders were nice and fun to talk with. The reason why service is a bit slower is that the bartender talks with customers, which in my definition is a bartender; a friend that you've just met who you can relax with. The place is a nice lit local atmosphere with wood decor, bordering close to a sports bar theme. The first time around we had Thursday rib special with grilled asparagus and cole slaw. The ribs were fall off the bone and seemed baked. The sauce was nice, but next time I might ask them if they could also quick sear the surface for an extra crisp. The asparagus was cooked just right, with the crunch present but none of the raw uncooked taste. It was a simple dash of salt over to enhance the flavor. Cole slaw was okay, nothing too special. The second time was Tuesday special of New York steak, with asparagus again along with potato salad. The New York steak was medium rare with a nice seasoned slight char to the surface to give a slight bitter contrast. The asparagus was consistent, and the potato salad though not my favorite was tasty with bacon mixed in. Only reason why I didn't favor this side is a personal taste profile (I don't like raw celery or chunks of celery). Third time was brussel sprouts and New York steak with asparagus and mashed potato. The brussel sprouts were slightly crisp and mixed with onions, bacon, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup into a sweet and savory decadence. The New York steak and asparagus were consistent. Mashed potatoes were a perfect blend of creaminess and buttery with the slight contrast of potato skin and the factor that it wasn't mashed to the point of being a purée. Personally I liked the rustic feature, and how the potatoes weren't overwhelmed by butter. Overall a nice spot to enjoy local dining if you're in no rush. read more

I ordered the ahi tacos..45 minutes _ 1 HOUR later one of the Ahi tacos were good enough to eat was very tasty and great however, the other ones.. not so much; brown avacado, cold broccoli and Luke warm waffle fries. They did warm up the broccoli and the manager Val offered to get me something else but they refused to make me tacos. Wow! OVERALL RATING FOR ME..2.5. Went here for dinner yesterday with my bestie. Cute place. Fantastic service. We had the Parmesan truffle fries. The very best I've ever had! I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich with a spicy sauce. So good, but enormous! Friend had a pot roast sandwich. Very tasty but a bit more salt than she would like. Still good. We both took most of our sandwiches home because we couldn't stop eating those yummy fries! Can't wait to go there again to try more things on the menu! read more

We have stopped by several times in the past coUple weeks, only to find there was no seating available. So last night/ evening we got there early. No seats at the bar, but there were 6-8 open tables We were told we couldn't sit at at a table because they were 4 people tables, and there was only 2 of us. Disappointing attitude. Food and service are both consistently very good. The cream of crab is delicious, pretzels are fresh and the beer cheese is awesome, the burgers are yummy, crabcakes are all meat and tasty (needs more Old Bay though), steak is amazing, the Chesapeake quesadilla is to-die-for, and the specials have not disappointed us yet. It gets crowded after 6, so go earlier if you can and you won't have to wait. read more

Even though the atmosphere is inviting and the wait staff/bartenders are excellent, the food is mediocre and the ownership need a lesson on people skills and learn how to talk to their employees instead of reprimanding them in front of patrons. Great small local bar, friendly service and incredible food! Stopped in with my wife to grab some food and drinks with friends. Place had a one man acoustic musician playing, great ambiance with plenty of seating. The service was spot on from the bartender to the waitress. We had a party of 6 and arrived at 6:00 on a Friday night. The place was packed. But the hostess made us feel welcomed and checked on us every once in a while to let us know the time frame. Once a large table opened up, the hostess and busboy didn't waste any time cleaning it and we were sat right away (wait time was 35 minutes from the time we arrived until we were seated). Food was amazing! I ordered the stuffed shrimp and mashed potatoes and both were delicious. My husband had the French Dip and he liked that too. The waitress didn't seem to familiar with the drinks that the bar offered. It would have really been nice to have a drink menu. I opted to drink the malibu and pineapple and it was really good. My husbands food came out about 10 minutes later than everyone else's. But the owner or manager brought it out and apologized and offered him a dessert on the house. That was really nice and unexpected. We will definitely be back! read more

Food is fantastic & the place looks great, but the blonde (Jess) is trash. Didn't want to wait on me and a friend when we arrived and sat at a table around 9PM on a Friday night. She looked annoyed that we even sat down. We had to go to the bar to order drinks and then asked her if we could order food. Told us table service was over. She was more concerned with talking to her friends and flirting with the bartender than doing her job. Get rid of her and we'll be back. read more

We were excited to try this establishment as friends have told us the food is great. The food is excellent from the ahi tuna to the burgers, kudos to the chef. The bartenders, not so much. We have been at Woody's twice and have received the same service. We have arrived at this establishment twice about an hour before shift change. The gal with the blonde hair ignores you for a while then bitchily asks you what you want. Always makes you feel like an inconvenience. We would be more than happy to cash out with her before she leaves and give her a nice tip if her service was better, but it surely wasn't deserved. Next bartender up is the bald guy with the big beard. He prefers to socialize with his friends at the end of the bar rather than serve you. Once is a fluke, twice is a pattern. It's a shame because the food is excellent and presented well for a neighborhood bar. Unfortunately, the service will keep us from coming back. 5 stars for the food, goose egg for service. read more
