Big fan of Temporal. It's one of the better upscale modern Mexican restaurants in the Condesa. The food is uniformly good and the service is attentive. After three visits, this one goes in my top 5 for the Condesa. The only issue is that beverages arrive later than the food.... it has a bar on the first floor and I think they pour all drinks so they are out of sync with the kitchen. What a cute little restaurant in hipodrama! I went with two friends and myself for a late dinner before we went to a bar. The food was great. I had the filet and my friends had the lamb and the filet as well. My friend didn't like his lamb all that much, but he said it was fine. I like the drinks there- they had a special drink and varieties of drinks as well. Price was great and the vibe was beautiful. The building is nice and open and the service was great as well. Amazing meal. More emphasis on vegetables than most Mexico City restaurants- and if you avoid salads when traveling (yes we're gringos, but we don't get sick) the veggies are very welcome. From the roasted cauliflower appetizer to the vegetables with our beef and fish dishes, everything was delicious. And the citrus cheesecake was amazing. As were the cocktails. Food was mostly ok, and nothing stood out as great... given the wealth of other options in the area we won't hurry back. Started with the octopus tacos, which were quite tasty. For mains, we had the grilled octopus and the picaña steak with tomato-leek tart. The octopus was good, and so was the tart, but the picaña was so stringy and chewy as to be very difficult to cut with a sharp knife and completely inedible in parts, beside not having much flavor. Service was ok if not great -- I had finished my beer by the time the appetizer was gone, and would've ordered another if anyone had noticed or asked; no one did for the remainder of the meal. read more

Everything I ate was very good. The menu changes regularly but there are always good meat, fish, and veggie options. The cocktails were also very interesting. The staff was always very friendly. Great meal! Was relatively empty when we came in. The mezcal cocktails were spot on! The autumn salad and pulpos tacos were great! we were given bread chimichurri and a jam curtesy of the house, which was excellent. we had the tomato soup which had depth in flavor. the vegetarian lasagne was overwhelmed by the mole sauce and was heavy. the tuna tostadas were disappointing - the tuna itself was good but the guacamole overwhelmed its flavor. it was wasted on this dish. for desert we chose the cream burle. again, the flavors did not come together well. clearly chef Diego is creative and put effort into the dishes, but they did not satisfy our palette. read more

We had the most delicious meal for $35 USD. I ordered the fruity and flavorful Zombie drink and my boyfriend had a citrusy mezcal cocktail with complex flavors. While we waited, bread was served with an incredible herb and oil spread and a slightly spicy marmalade. The wild mushroom risotto was one of the best things I've ever eaten. We also loved the roasted cauliflower and the quinoa salad was fabulously light and full of so many flavors. Everything about the food was perfect, but the atmosphere made the experience. Amazing dinner! We were craving some veggies after eating traditional Mexican food and were happy to find Temporal. We ordered the gin berry drink and spicy mezcal marg type drink and both were amazing. The bar even adjusted them to lessen the sweetness/sugar. The chimichurri sauce with bread was super fresh and yummy and we also enjoyed the fruit paste with chili (unsure what it actually was but resembled a semi fig paste). As for food, we weren't starving but needed to eat so got the fish over fava purée and the roasted cauliflower head - both VERY GOOD. The restaurant was empty which made me sad since the food was fresh and the service was great. Highly suggest going if you want a fresh alternative to traditional Mexican food. Ambiance was also very posh. Drinks were around 100 pesos and the fish was 250 pesos. This meal in the US would have cost triple the price. read more

I had a great experience here! The food, drinks and service were all excellent. I had the braised pork enchiladas which were easily some of the best enchiladas I've ever had. My companion had the octopus tacos and said they were great. They brought out some complementary bread with a delicious guava jam and spicy cilantro oil that made for the perfect combo. I only wish I had been more hungry so I could've tried more things!! The cocktails are well-crafted and flavorful. I highly recommend visiting Temporal if in the area. read more

This place is 1 block from the Air BnB I was staying at and had great yelp reviews so I decided to check it out. Didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat our party of 4 immediately. We were brought to a table but then told by another employee that we needed to sit at a different table downstairs... ok, no problem. We ordered our drinks and they all showed up a few minutes later except mine. I was the only one who ordered a cocktail so I figured it would be out shortly. Our appetizers came and I began to wonder if my drink had been forgotten. Our waiter went missing for about 15 minutes so we flagged down another employee and inquired about the drink. Our entrees came out and then my drink a bit later, no apology. Our server asked if anyone else needed additional drinks and 2 of our party members ordered more. We finished our food and eventually the server shows up with the 2 drinks about 20 minutes later, said sorry this time but we were already finished eating. He left dessert menus with us and then disappeared again for another 20 minutes. Eventually we flagged down someone else to ask for the check. Our server comes back with our bill which was about $1800 pesos. All of our drinks were on the bill at full price, whatever. I paid with a card and the server suggested we tip him 15%. He never checked on us during the meal and we had to flag down other servers multiple times but he apparently still felt that he should be tipped 15%. This is a higher end restaurant and the food was good but the service did not match at all. Would not come back. If you want a fancy evening out where you feel like a cherished guest, spend your money somewhere else. Had 10x better service at cheap taco places around the neighborhood. read more

I never usually write reviews, but I was really impressed with Temporal. I went by myself and sat in the bar. Excellent and very well executed cocktails, the food was delicious - I had the tomato soup with goat cheese and the pork shank with poblano mashed potato and beans. The meat was fall off the bone tender and both dishes were full of flavor, but not over seasoned. The service was warm and professional. This is my first visit to Mexico City and I am overwhelmed by all the delicious restaurants. Temporal made my night. The Chef is FANTASTIC. My husband and I enjoyed the Risotto with Mushrooms, the Cauliflower and the Red Snapper was out of this world. The ambience is lovely with the perfect lighting. The service was friendly, professional and extremely thoughtful. This is a perfect dining experience for a romantic dinner or a fun evening with friends. We will be coming back. Dinner Sunday here was my least favorite meal of our weekend trip. Not many places were open Sunday night so our choices were limited. Even the nice atmosphere did not make up for the average food. The octopus app and pumpkin soup were both ehhhh. My short rib entree which the server recommended was a yawn. And what's up with grounded up rabbit in my friend's rabbit mole? My pregnant gf's gnocchi however was amazing. She didn't like it as it was rich and cheesy. So I ate most of it because I have no shame in eating a pregnant lady's food. My veggie gf's vegetarian entree was a salad for rabbits. She did not enjoy. The desserts were awful. The chocolate tart was an overly sweet chocolate mousse cake or brownie. And the apple dessert was an odd diced apple crumble with an overwhelming cardamom taste. I only took one bite of each. Last time that happened was in 1999. My pregnant friend however liked the desserts. Skip this place unless you get stuck on a Sunday night. In which case you should only order the gnocchi. read more

This place is fantastic from all aspects of food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. This place puts most American upscale/ casual big city restaurants to shame at half the price at least. We came here to watch one of the World Cup games with a group of ex-pat journalists. They had a big buffet set out of sausages and ham and croissants and fresh fruit and so on, all of it completely excellent. Upstairs seating was excellent and we all had a good view of the tv. On the downside, service was a little slow. Requests for more juice might take a while or might be forgotten altogether. On the whole I thought it was a pretty good place. Went to Temporal last night we got there late, and the wait staff was on there goes. We were seated by the manager, the jazz band started from a break and was very smooth and not overpowering. The drinks were very good, I had a mojito. The food was excellent. Had to complement the manager. Definitely will be a regular when we are in Mexico City. read more

Another great meal in Mexico City. Located in the beautiful Hipodromo area, the restaurant is light and airy. Appetizers were well made and included a wonderful goat cheese and tomato soup. Main courses were a perfectly cooked piece of fish over a potato puree with mushrooms and brussels sprouts. We also had a delicious pasta and shrimp dish. Dessert was a beautifully presented piece of cheesecake. Finally, my wife recommends the "incredible" tamarind margarita. I had a delicious local stout. After dinner, this is a safe and beautiful neighborhood to have a post dinner walk. read more
