Needed a boba pick me up in the area and came across this place. I was initially hesitant due to the 3.9 star rating but was VERY surprised by how good it was! The menu is extensive with a variety of options for every pallet, and the pricing is reasonable for Boston. I love that they have unique kinds of Boba, including butterfly pea Boba and dragon fruit Boba made in house. The barista was kind enough to let us sample some of the dragon fruit Boba, which was so fragrant and chewy. I ended up getting the roasted oolong milk tea with 50% sweetness. Stopped in for the first time and tried their Rose Alpine Oolong Tea with boba ($7.22 for a medium). It was good- light and fresh. When I inquired what the difference in taste was (primarily what the "alpine" taste was) between the Honey Rose tea and the Rose Alpine Oolong Tea, I was informed that the Honey Rose tea is topped off with water, while the Rose Apline Oolong tea is topped off with oolong tea. So, be aware and perhaps ask if the tea drink you're about to order will be "watered down." Also, when I chose a particular topping, the barista refused to add it to the tea drink I was ordering and insisted on another topping choice. So, despite paying $1 extra for a topping, you may be refused your choice. The topping she insisted on (the clear boba pearls) was still good and similar to traditional tapioca pearls. For lactose intolerant people who want to drink a milk tea, Ten One offers both lactose-free milk and oat milk. They also offer two ordering kiosks, which look to cut down time considerably, and the drinks come out in a timely manner. You can order at the counter, too. Their new CROFFLE is SOOO GOOD! It comes fresh and warm. Super light and airy and a perfect combination of a croissant and waffle. I love the texture it is a crispy and fluffy! When I called on the phone, they said they don't take phone orders. Instead, they are on delivery apps. I ended up ordering via Yelp, fulfilled by Grubhub. I had a large Osmanthus Alpine Oolong tea with green tea jelly ($8.30). The jelly was in the shape of hearts and had a faint taste of tea. I chose to get "regular" amount of sugar. I thought this amount was acceptable, but would have preferred the drink to be more sweet. I feel this drink was less on the sweet side and more on the tea side. Next time I would try to see if I could get more sugar. When I arrived to pick up my drink, there were several customers waiting for their drinks. As someone who frequently Assembly a decent amount, Ten One is a spot I return to often! Their drinks and toppings are on the pricier side, but I have yet to get a poorly made drink yet after the 5+ times I've visited over the past few months. The storefront is rather small so it's much more of a order, pickup, leave rather than sit and sip spot. Drinks never take longer than a few minutes upon placing an order and it's easy to do over one of the two kiosks they have set up. You can also order up at the front if that's more your speed. I enjoy their fruity drinks with aloe, however their milk tea is also a solid option. Their taro is also nice as it's made with real taro root, not powder. This store is located in Asembly Row which is usually hard to find street parking but I lucked out and found a spot a few stores away. I'd never visited before but I was in the area and craved bubble tea. Locating the store initially was a headache. I passed by it a couple times but I ultimately located it. A cute small shop, a type of place where you order and go. There's no chairs available to sit. They have tablets for easy ordering and the menu is displayed on the wall. I love how they used organic whole milk for their drinks. I got the rose milk tea with brown sugar boba. It was yummy and the boba was nice, chewy and lots of brown sugar flavor. We also got mango green tea with white boba. The mango puree made it very flavorful and it was super refreshing! But, I thought the white boba was crystal boba. I can't wait to come back and try their other drinks, as they have a big variety. I read a review about how amazing the croissant waffle was, so I had to get it. There are no limits to the choices of bubble tea in Boston so the bar is pretty high to be at least pretty good. Finally a boba shop in Assembly Row! Another great news is that they sell mochinuts from Pon De Joy! Mochinut locations are located in Brighton, Chinatown and Worcester. Now I have to be a regular just for the mochinuts :) They are $3.95 each and a small discount if you buy three or half a dozen. Love the chewy texture and strong sesame flavor. I got the boba Tiguyan with no ice and sugar and the drink came out perfect (strong tea flavor). I agree with other reviewers that boba is pricier than other competitors ($1.00 vs $0.50) but could be inflation where all boba shops are increasing their prices on add ons? Very fitting for Ten One to open on national boba day! The location is very small - no seating at all. We ordered the lavender milk tea and the lavender forest with dragonfruit boba. The lavender milk tea had a nice lavender presence and I definitely enjoyed that. As for the lavender forest, there was hardly a lavender taste. It was basically a fruit tea but the dragonfruit boba was good. Overall it was pricey for the size and $1/topping is higher than most boba places.
