She spoke English decently. The others seemed to barely speak English. If you're willing to be patient about that, this place can work for you. My tech was Joan. She only works on Sunday. She had a sweet demeanor and her work was gentle and meticulous. It was a bit pricier here than the 1st location I checked out but worth it. Overall, still less expensive than Manhattan and NJ. An overall good deal. PRO TIP: Join their free membership/rewards program. Ask them about it. After some visits/$ spent, you'll qualify for a $10 credit to be used towards an upcoming visit.

I've dealt with 3 other techs here, each one that sucked more than the next. They don't know how to do basic nails and if you ask them to correct mistakes they make, they say "what are you doing - I am busy, I have other customers". This exact sentence was said to me by David, the guy everyone is raving good things about. As you can see on the pictures, he did not do French nails correctly and then applied quick dry on me to get me out of there quicker, which smeared my whole nail. When I asked him to correct the nails, he refused. So, I went elsewhere and paid more $$ to have it fixed. I'm not a loud or rude customer unlike other crazy people I see come to salons. I was quiet and had my headphones in the whole time until I saw he did a horrible job. I literally asked him to fix the gross marks he made on my nails and he flipped. I still ended up tipping 25% and I should not have. Not sure why I paid $40 for this gross mani but it's my last time stepping foot in here!

I had what might be the most unpleasant nail appointment I've ever sat through. From the start, she was rushing, and not in a subtle way. When I politely asked her to ease up because she was hurting me, she barely grazed her glove and said "see? Doesn't hurt" -- completely dismissing what I was telling her about my own pain. She then continued at the same pace and pressure. Being heard was simply not on the agenda. The quality of the work matched the attitude. One of my nails had a visible thread of polish hanging off it, clearly about to crack, and when I pointed it out she told me she didn't know what I was talking about and couldn't see anything. I could see it. And sure enough, by the end of the same day, that nail had already cracked and was looking overgrown. Same-day results like that tell you everything you need to know. I paid good money to leave feeling dismissed, hurt, and with nails that were already failing before I got home. I'd strongly recommend requesting a different tech if you visit Latouie -- or doing your research before sitting down.

My tech's name was Hebe and she was wonderful! She gave a great 10 minute massage that accompanied my upgrade green tea spa pedicure. She was very meticulous and took her time. I didn't have to micromanage her every step of the way and actually got to relax in my massage chair. My color was gel #269 which was a very lovely coral/ pinkish color perfect for spring. My legs are soft and my aching feet were massaged back to life. For $5, I opted to enroll in their membership program, which was the activation fee. She simply got to work in a way that impressed me with her attention to detail every step of the way, so to speak. I'm honestly a little disappointed-- my nails were done by Fanny this time and I have to say-- my experience with her was maybe the worst out of all the other workers. I took away one star because of a few reasons; Fanny is somewhat unprofessional as other reviews have pointed out. She does things her way and assures you that she knows what she's doing even when you ask her to fix a crooked edge or an uneven nail. When I asked for two top coats she said, "2 nails for $5" she clearly misheard and thought I asked for a design, so when another customer chirped in and told her that I was asking for two top coats, Fanny replied in an oddly grave tone, "I know!" The bottom of my nails were messy and she sanded down way too much to the point where I have cuts on my finger that were bleeding. Whenever anyone moved, Fanny would peak up from my nails and pause for a good 3-4 minutes before continuing. She didn't take her time to make sure my nails were even and even finished earlier than someone who started before me! Other than that, just make sure you get someone other than Fanny to do your nails. Update: I can never be disappointed with the end results of my nails here! Prices are affordable, the people are nice, and the stations are always kept clean. There is literally nothing more that I can ask for. The first time I was here for SNS, they only had one book of colors. Now, nearly 6 months later, they've added another book of colors! I got an SNS dip powder with tips and it wasn't incredibly pricey. My nails are naturally weak, so I was recommended the dip powder and I have to say, I am not disappointed :). My nails feel much stronger, and the lady who did my nails made sure to put on a layer of nail lacquer in between each dip in the powder. She even trimmed each acrylic nail first to make sure that the tip would fit on my natural nails. Good quality for the price, and pretty good service

I understand that mistakes can happen, so instead of leaving a bad review immediately, I called the salon and politely asked if I could come back to have the width of my two thumbnails reshaped. What disappointed me even more was the owner's attitude on the phone. She sounded impatient and made me feel like I was being difficult for asking them to fix their own work. Good customer service isn't just about doing nails--it's also about how you treat customers when they have a concern. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything unreasonable. I simply wanted the nails corrected. Unfortunately, the poor attitude left a much worse impression than the nails themselves.
