We've been coming for 9 or so years and it's extremely consistent in its excellence. Their red curry is so flavorful, their pad see ew is so satisfying and their macadamia nut chicken is wonderful. I don't know that I've ever eaten better Thai food. Edit: well, apparently it's been about 10 years and I forgot I already reviewed this place. Well, it's still just as good!

This restaurant is located in a pretty good spot on Ryders lane where it's easy to get to going north or south, being that left turns are allowed when coming from the south and from the north there's 2 entrances to turn in. Exiting is also not terrible since there's a traffic light to help you make the turns you need to get on the road. The decor is also pretty good. It's a upscale feeling interior. Plenty of parking spots outside. With this said I wondered why it was so dead inside. We had the roti canai which was tasty but too burnt on the outside. My carcinogenic pet peeve. The chicken curry it came with was tasty but too sweet. The pad thai with shrimp tasted pretty good but again it was too sweet. Do people actually want it this way? C'mon let's do better. I understand Thai food is a blend of flavors with one of them being sweet but this was too much. The drunken noodles were delicious but also (to a lesser degree than the pad thai) too sweet. On the bright side they were stir fried well, fresh tasting and the texture of the noodles was good. The service was friendly but forgot our soda order. They told me that next time I can request the sweetness level a little lower. I ordered the drunken noodles with a spicyness level of 2 on a scale of 3 and that was perfect. The stir fry was also fresh and the noodles delicious. The prices are ok. Around 17 a dish which I guess is normal post pandemic. 3.5% cc fee so cash is king to save a few bucks. I would only become a repeat customer if they don't burn or make my food too sweet next time as requested. This is really like a 3.5 star review rounded up because this area is enhanced with much needed diverse dining options.

Once we were seated, my friend ordered a variety of dishes for us to have. Pork Juicy Buns, Dumplings (Chicken & Sweet Corn, Beef & Water Chestnut, Spicy Pork & Kimch) as well as Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Buns. To my surprise, Wu's Shanghai Dumpling met my expectations. The dumplings were really good overall, and the Pork Juicy Buns standout that afternoon because they were really delicious. The service was good and the ambiance was pleasant and we enjoyed overall our dining experience. One negative note however, their service water tasted off. One of my friend even had to step out to buy bottled water since it wasn't available in the restaurant. At this time, I'd rate this restaurant 4 stars and I'd definitely come back to try more items on their menu. Hopefully next time, they'll offer good service water or bottled water instead.

The food is northern Thai, authentic and owner-cooked by chef Jack. The Som Tam Thai was exceptional -- fresh, crunchy papaya, perfectly balanced tamarind, and just enough sauce to carry the flavor without softening the salad. One of the best I've had outside Thailand. One other note--they were able to make it peanut free! The drunken noodles were rich and well-rounded. They dialed back the spice for my husband without losing any of the dish's character, not something other restaurants in the area have done well. The creamy tom yum hot pot was my highlight. Silky-tender velvet beef, bright sourness, and a chili tray to push the heat on your own terms. I like the heat so ordered medium spice and even added a bit. Don't skip dessert. Their mango sticky rice adds ube to the rice to give beautiful color and a subtle earthiness that plays perfectly against the mango's sweetness. This is the kind of place that earns regulars! Highly recommend.
