Maybe the rice could use a little more flavor but they provide plenty of spicy mayo and soy sauce/wasabi. I won't be ordering from here again. Ordered the dynamite roll which claims to have fresh spicy tuna but the contents of the roll looked more like canned tuna. The roll was also SMOTHERED in imitation crab meat to the point of nausea. Hibachi chicken and beef/chicken combination dinners had me rechecking my order to make sure that I had ordered the correct dishes. The beef/chicken combination hibachi was swimming in broth and resembled what you would expect to receive if you ordered hibachi from Chili's Bar and Grill. I just tried Tian Express for the first time a few weeks ago and ever since then I've been going pretty frequently. The prices are awesome and the food is great. The menu has literally everything. It is extremely safe during COVID-19 as they send the food down a little shoot. Also the workers are EXTREMELY nice and are willing to substitute ingredients with no problems. I was not eating rice and they were able to to swap out the base of my bowl for lettuce instead with ease. I love the food, and prices here. I rarely will ever take the time to go on Yelp to rate restaurants but I really had to for Tian Express. Seriously, everything about my experiences at this restaurant has been amazing... Finally, a poke restaurant in East Brunswick....! We visited this restaurant after they were closed for renovation (roof repair?) a few weeks ago. When I called in to order ahead, they actually told me that many of the items in the old menu are not offered anymore and the prices have also increased -- but we decided to give it a try anyway since it's on our way. For now, we tried the regular chicken and beef teriyaki bowl and also the spicy tuna sushi burrito (btw, don't get excited expecting a Japanese-Cali blend of food, a sushi burrito is basically a sushi roll, but not cut into the many slices sushis are typically served as). Honestly, the teriyaki bowls turned out to be well cooked and tasty, but as far as portion, it's just so-so and not grilled as much (with rather sparse portions of the meat). Maybe I've been spoiled by Teriyaki Bowl in Princeton! Nothing to write home about, but it's still worth of a visit if you want a decent teriyaki or sushi dinner in the EB mall area. I will come again to try their poke bowls and hopefully they won't disappoint. read more

Conveniently located off route 18 on the northbound side, not far from the East Brunswick mall. Super friendly staff, especially Christine, the lady that works the cashier. When we first walked in, she gave us many suggestions as to what was popular since it was our first time there. The bubble tea is pretty good and the price is reasonable. I recommend the taro bubble tea. It isn't overly sweet and has a hint of taro flavor. We also ordered the salmon sashimi burrito and the spicy salmon burrito. Both were a decent size and it comes with spicy mayo sauce. It does seem to be missing something though, like crunchy onions. If only you could customize your own burrito. They also have a great special pricing of 3 rolls for only $10 and it also comes with miso soup. That's a great value and so we took advantage of that as well, ordering a sweet potato roll, eel cucumber avocado roll, and salmon avocado roll. All the rolls are really good. We also ordered the chicken fried rice and general tso's chicken. Both were your average tasting chinese food. We will definitely be coming back for more. read more

I'm very upset with this place after changing ownership. Their menu has the same names but all the ingredients are changed out with some lame ones. I ordered $40 worth of food.. Food was delivered by the owner. Called few minutes later to complain- I ordered items and received something else. Owner called back 10 min later asking what to do? I said please remake the bowls because these bowls have ingredients in them I don't eat. While he brought me my new order, I ate the 3 rolls. After he brought me my new bowls, I was skeptical just looking at them but I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I agreed to try them out. I put the bowls in the fridge because the rolls stuffed me. Few hours later, my stomach turned upside down and I was in the restroom for a bit. I threw the 2 salmon bowls straight in the trash after discovering the salmon changed colors to brown in only a few hours in the fridge. I'm so mad because I ordered all this food under the impression it was the same freshness as it used to be .. to my discovery it wasn't. I had given up all hope of having a solid Japanese spot in EB, after Wasabi House became a shell of what it used to be.... until I stopped at a light on 18 South and looked over to see Tian Asian. I immediately Googled to see what the Yelp reviews were looking like... and they were good! YAY! Saving for a cheat day this past Saturday night gave me the best opportunity to try their take-out. Over the phone service was very smooth, delivery was prompt, order was correct.. now it was time to dig in. We ordered standard rolls, spicy tuna, Philly, some apps were honey wings and shumai.. everything was tasty, weren't mind blown, but decent enough to become our go to sushi spot. When I looked in the bag, I realized that we were given some free grub (miso soup and spring rolls which were bangin by the way!!!!--nice touch! I can't wait to try these sushi burritos and bowls on the next go round. read more

Love going here when I am looking for something quick and cheap. I would only recommend the sushi as I have tried other things on the menu and they weren't as good (i.e. shrimp fried rice, hibachi, rock shrimp, etc). Finally had a chance to try this new takeout. I've been wanting to try this place after seeing it pop up on route 18 and reading all the positive yelp reviews. I can see the appeal here. The menu is a nice change from your typical Chinese takeout. There are "hot soup pots" with varying flavors (mala, Cantonese, and tom yum) and loaded with different ingredients. There is a mixture of Japanese (i.e., sushi, bento box), Thai (pad Thai) and Chinese. The food isn't as impressive as the menu. The kids loved the pad Thai (we ordered it without vegetables so it was just plain noodles with eggs and chicken). The kids don't really care about authenticity. As long as the noodles taste good and there aren't vegetables on there, they are happy. The Thai red curry was flavorful and the sauce was delicious when mixed with the rice but be warned that the coconut flavor completely overpowers any curry flavor. The tom yum hot soup pot was ok but doesn't have a strong Thai taste. It didn't taste like tom yum soup but was good in its own right. The chicken with lo mein was typical. We'll probably be back because it offers a different variety of foods than the same old, same old local Chinese take out. read more

I went during lunchtime and the staff was very nice and attentive. Even though it was kinda crowded the food was ready in under 10 mins. I got the spicy salmon burrito and it tasted fresh, but didn't have much salmon in it. For the price I would expect more salmon. The other ingredients they used tasted fresh and flavorful. Four starts for what it is: Asian Take Out. If you go to Tian expecting a 4 star restaurant you will leave disappointed. If you accept it for the take out spot that it is you will be pleasantly surprised. I ate here twice in one day. If that doesn't warrant a review I don't know what does. Somewhere above the level of mall Chinese and your average take out place lies Tian Asian Express. Far from your average menu Tian boasts everything from Sushi Burrito's to Thai Red Curry. With a little bit of everything from the most popular Asian cultures (Thai, Japanese, Cantonese) everybody is sure to find a quick fix when stopping by Tian. Sure you can order your favorites from an actual restaurant, but that usually comes with a restaurant price. What Tian does is gives you all your favorites in a fair size for a fair price with the expectation that it's to go. This cuts out some of the extra overhead. Even if you are dining in one of the three tables your food is served in a to go container. The Food I've been enjoying their Pad Thai. Is it the worlds most authentic? No. Is it suitable if not better compared to some of the terrible pad thai I've had recently...Yes. Thai Red Curry Chicken- Very tasty with plenty of chicken and a nice viscosity. Recently at various places I've been getting very thin/watery curry (Except NTP because that's my 5 start Thai spot). I was relieved when I saw this curry has almost a chowder like consistency. I order my food extra spicy and I'm glad because this curry is on the sweet side. I don't think they have anything that can really bring the food to a spice level I'm aiming for. That's fine though as I wouldn't expect a take out spot to carry the most authentic of heat spices. Vegetarian Spring rolls are good. That's really all I have to say about that. I mean...come on...they're just spring rolls. I've made it a habit to call as I leave my front door and in the 10 minutes it takes me to drive there my food is usually ready and piping hot. I think they already recognize my phone number as well. Yesterday the lady knew what kind of rice I wanted before I said anything. That is Awesome. For the sweet there is always some sour. I'm a pork guy and there is no mention of pork on the menu. If the owners/manager reads this...Can I get some ribs? Bone in or boneless is fine, but just get me some ribs. Normally once I am shot down from pork I jump to beef. However, I have to say the beef here was actually cut a bit too thick and was a little tough. I never thought I'd say this, but I really enjoy the chicken. I've switched from ordering my food with beef to chicken and it's actually very good quality. The chicken from my past 3 visits has been perfectly moist and cut thin enough that you can pull it apart with chop sticks. Get the chicken. Here is my plea to fellow East Brunswick residents. Next time you're at the mall thinking about getting Chinese...consider stopping by Tian. Next time you want to get Chinese from your favorite take out spot...consider Tian. If you are one of the sick people in this world that regularly goes to Noodles and Company and gets something Asian...do more than consider getting Tian. Reconsider your life. read more

I have been wanting to try this place after stumbling on their window sign after Seven Eleven run. Finally tried few things tonight. Clean ambiance, I wouln't recommend eating in unless it is absolutely necessary. There is a constant flow of people going in and out so don't expect restaurant experience. Superb spicy tuna rolls!! 3 different rolls under 10 bucks is a deal hard to miss. It is a must try! Miso soup and hot and sour soup were both not salty and quite tasty. Also tried slush taro drink, decent and not pricey at all. General Tso's chicken was solid 4 stars- fried rice that came with it, not so much a fan. I have a favorite Chinese/Southeastern Asian go to in town, but I really hope this place makes it. Give it a shot! read more

This place is very good. Nice variety of diff types of asian dishes. For the price/portion/quality/speed its easily a 4-5 star. This asian take out spot was surprisingly higher quality than expected. Im a lazy reviewer so im just goin to keep this short. if your looking for a fast and tasty asian take out spot with good prices(currently 10% off) than this is definitely the place for you. Their chicken is better than their beef imo. My recommendations are: -chicken skewers -chicken and broccli with garlic sauce or black bean sauce. - spicy tuna burrito -thai red chicken curry with white rice Ive been ordering takeout and dining in several times a week since they opened. This is a newly opened business in East Brunswick. It has very limited seating, only for small tables for two. This is primarily a take-out business. They serve a variety of Japanese and Japanese fusion dishes as well as some Chinese style dishes. we tried three dishes tonight. The curry chicken with brown rice was pretty good, but not as much curry flavor as I would have liked. The Tom Yum soup with beef was also pretty good. It had a lot of vegetables, but the beef was a bit tough. The pad Thai was disappointing, because it was very watery and did not have that taste of being cooked in a wok (hard to explain, Cantonese people call it Wok Hay, literally translated to mean wok air). It looked like boiled noodles with some chicken and peanuts on the side. That said, the flavor was ok, and we ate it all. We didn't try any of their Japanese style dishes, maybe another time. read more

Fast service and good food. Often reluctant to order sushi takeout but the Salmon Poke Bowl was perfect. Dinner for 2 under $30 w appetizers - not so bad considering we had steak and seafood as our main course! Would give 5 stars but egg roll was well made but very salty and Hot and Sour Soup was tasty but would've been better with more veggies, tofu and pork- a bit lite on that end and a bit salty. This place is definitely unassuming. It is take-out only, but it is better than maybe that really shitty place you would get pickup before you have to take Johnny to baseball practice. Staff is super friendly, and is always telling you when you're making the best choice. They prepare maybe 5 dishes, within 5 minutes. Their meat is delicious and tender, and their sushi is always freshly made, and not made from those disgusting markets you would buy at. They even give free tea. especially great for the winter, according to the lady who works behind the counter. They make their food quickly. Our food was ready, as soon as we got to the restaurant in 10 minutes. Phew! Thrie spring rolls are the best. Such fresh veggies, in a not super fried wrapping shell.
