I've lived here about 4 months now, and there has hardly been one day without some type of disappointment. First, I've had 3 separate building employees simply walk into my unit! No notice or permission whatsoever! When I asked them to stop sending people without my direct consent, they acted like I was out of line? Staff said tenants here like for staff to just enter tenant units unannounced! How absurd is that?
I moved to California for the prop 215 laws, and would never move into a building that didn't at least allow vaping. Before signing the lease I was promised vaping medical marijuana would not be a problem, and pointed out how it is not mentioned in the lease, just tobacco. The day after I moved in I was told vaping not allowed. They told me whatever so I would sign the lease. I even tried shutting myself on the tiny balcony and only vaped there, yet still complaints. This is not legal in the state of California. A resident cannot be restricted access to their legal medication. http://beta.latimes.com/politics/essential/la-pol-sac-essential-politics-updates-bill-allowing-landlords-to-bar-medical-1472663620-htmlstory.html
I was also told upon moving in I could relax, this was my home, and everything would be handled by staff, yet absolutely nothing is handled easily. You will never have access to any "house cars", they are always "reserved". I was promised anytime access for rides to the airport. After my stepfather of 37 years passed away I needed a ride to the airport, so I could be there for my mother. I texted staff the day ahead telling them, and did not receive any reply. Assuming, since this was something promised multiple times, and was promised it was one of the perks associated with the extra cost of living here, it would be taken care of. The following morning I texted I needed the ride in 20-30 minutes; Only Then did they tell me that rides were only between 8am-8pm, and since mine was 7:45am I was not able to use any of their cars services! After 10 minutes of texting they finally offered to order a car for $140 fee. I texted Uber and they were there in 5 minutes, charged $29. Not One Time in the entire history of moving/living in the building was I told of this 8-8 policy.
When I enquired about a dry cleaner, I was told the building used one that was great, to just drop off my clothes and everything else would be taken care of. I went to pick up my clothes the following week and they were still in the drop off box, dirty. Both building and dry cleaning staff played the blame game.
DirecTV is the only option here, and is Completely undependable. Most of the shows I record get interrupted during broadcast. I've had several techs in and still messes up daily.
The master bedroom only has one AC vent, which is Not sufficient to cool it off, unless you blast it so high the rest of the place becomes a fridge!
Yes, the valet are fast, friendly and remember your name. There are a few other staff members, like Richard and Miles, that do amazing jobs. But they cannot make up for the lies I've been told, and the $15K a month price tag that the units come with.
