Located off of Broadway. Street parking is metered until 6PM on the weekdays. Quaint, but open atmosphere. They have a decent amount of seating. Good for small parties of large groups. Service is great. Patient with ordering, suggested items on the menu. Provided samples of in house made drinks. The lemonade with Cardamom bitters was delish. The cardamom really elevates this beverage. Tried the spicy chicken wings, and spicy noodles bother were delish and would order them again. The entrees are easily shared as well.

Their new location on Piedmont Ave is open (next to Dona). They now have outdoor seating on a patio off the parking lot + indoor. During lunch service you order at the counter and then take a seat. Beautiful space, high ceilings and tons of light. The food is the same, amazing quality it's always been!

Recently found out that they are likely moving their location to piedmont in March. Came here for a large birthday party and that was friendly and accommodating. Even offered to do separate checks. All the food we got was fresh and tasty. But I was particularly happy with the green beans and tofu and the Airbender drink! The restaurant is nicely decorated.

Food was delicious~ Came here for a Valentine's Day date with my favorite person :) Space was plentiful on a Sunday lunch and we ordered the tea leaf salad, whole fried fish and the basil cumin chicken along with a coconut rice. Food is fresh and packed of flavor. Tea leaf salad is a 3/5 as I'm used to it havig more ingredients and varied flavor. Whole fried fish tasted quite plain without the sauce and the sauce was where it was all at. It was a bit too fried and the ratio of fried to flesh was a little imbalanced, 3/5 The basil cumin chicken was delicious and the best ~ It has a kick to it and went well with the coconut rice. 4/5 Overall, a delicious meal ~

Went here about two weeks ago with a bunch of friends for lunch on a Friday. I got lucky and found some free parking around the corner. The place looks absolutely fabulous inside. Modern, swanky decor, think of something from the Pottery Barn catalog. It was not very busy for lunch. Server was really nice, but there was only one, so we had to wait a bit. I ordered a lunch special salad with chicken. It was pretty good, except that the dressing was extremely salty. It seemed to be a fish sauce based. I probably would order something else next time or get the sauce on the side. I got a few items to go, which were better, IMHO. The Pea Shoot Salad ($15) was a riff on the Tea Leaf Salad and it was great. The dressing is different on this one, sort of like a mild citrus vinaigrette, which worked better. The Coconut Bayleaf Shrimp ($25) was amazing! The flavors were really complex and worked well together. It was even better with the Coconut rice ($5). Highly recommended! Portion sizes were bit on the small side. But all the food was very high-quality. Should be even better once we figure out what to order. Has a lot of potential. Give it a try!

Great service, no lines, beautiful ambience and delicious food. They give great recommendations too. Several gluten free and vegan options.

To be honest it want my favorite. The flavors were very different than the standard Burmese cuisine I've had over the years. It seemed like a mixture of Trinidadian mixed with Eritrean mixed with Indian to be honest! Great location and the service was good. The drinks were a little weak but bit bad.

Why don't I get over to the east bay more often? Teni Kitchen is just so good . It's been too long since I had those yummy spicy noodles with chicken and coconut curry. This time the pea sprout salad was perfectly dressed - very tender and delicious pea sprouts and a generous serving. We shared and we agreed -- delicious! Very spacious place and attentive waiter.

The food was good and as you can expect for Michelin guided with small portions but pricey. Service was alright and the setup up of the restaurant is to one side with the kitchen and bar on the other so it feels kinda small. Coconut rice is really good and curries were mild and good as well. Probably would not come back however nice to try burmese food

I've kept hearing people rave about this spot! I'm so Glad I finally got to try it tonight! The servers were so sweet and attentive. Everything was absolutely delicious! There was no wait too which was so nice! I'd definitely come back and order the exact same things. Fried Whole Fish - so so fresh & the spicy sauce it came with was fire! Ten Spicy Noodles -- this wasn't spicy at all and is more on the curry side of flavors. Tea Tree Salad -- loved the use of kale in this! Flavor was delicious! This spot is WAY better than Burma Superstar!

Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2024! This is now my favorite Burmese restaurant. At 11:30AM on Saturday, my fiancé and I were the first customers. Immediately, we were warmly greeted. The friendly and efficient service lasted throughout our whole lunch. Our server made great recommendations on the menu as well. Here's what we ordered (spoiler alert: everything was delicious) -- Crispy Spicy Catfish: this was fire. My favorite dish of our meal. The spice comes on the side so you can adjust your spice level according to your preferences. The fish was perfectly fried, so crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside! A 10/10 from me. -- Chicken Cardamom Curry: deliciously warm and filling. The chicken pieces are generous and juicy. We ordered rice on the side to pair with the curry. -- Tea Leaf Kale Salad: excellent flavors! I recommend starting with this. Tastes savory and crunchy. -- Roti with Dip: the roti is veryyy buttery but still good. Warm and easily pulled apart. Paired great with the curry we ordered This area of Oakland seemed pretty walkable and nice (ish). Street parking may be harder to find on a busier day. The interior of the restaurant is really clean with natural lighting, so lunch here was a pleasant experience. I will be back!

We absolutely loved everything we ate and drank at Teni East. The flavors were spectacular! We had two servers, both were great, and there was a lovely low key sophistiated ambiance, it wasn't too crowded on a weekend evening. Parking in the neighborhood was easy.

My husband and I managed to snag a couple of seats, and the bartenders quickly wiped down our spot and handed us menus. I ordered the Frozen Espresso, and my husband got the Melon Drop Martini. It was an absolute treat watching the bartenders make each drink--they were incredibly fast, skilled, and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. Our cocktails arrived within minutes. I think I finished my martini in literal seconds. My husband's Melon Drop was served in a perfectly chilled glass and wasn't overly sweet (IYKYK). It is a unique layout to a bar, and probably better concept for earlier hours, when it isn't as crowded during the night. It can fill up really quickly, since the area to order a drink, dance, and mingle is narrow, since the bar is literally in the middle of the room. Some of the staff can be extremely nice and kind, and there are some who you can tell are fed up, upset, and don't have the best attitude. I get it, though. It's a cool bar to check out or be the first stop of the night. The djs they have always turn up. Good luck getting a drink under 15 minutes though!

Such a beautiful interior space vibrant in celebration for AAPI Heritage month, and a super fun cocktail menu that was the perfect post-meal moment (both photo-worthy and tastebuds approved). We also noticed they have a cool food menu too filled with yummy and innovative dishes like Cheesy Char Siu Tots, Szechuan Salt & Pepper Wings, Korean Fried Mapo Tofu, BBQ Char Siu Ribs, and more. They also have nice swag ~ we took home a hat that resembled a Kirkland hat that spelled out "Oakland Viridian" (IYKYK). Drink-wise we ordered the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned and the Café Sua Daddy, which essentially is an espresso martini with a fun twist with black sesame and an egg cream foam. Both drinks were outstanding and presentation was beyond..I wished we could have stayed for round two, but duty calls! Ride-share and or BART suggested in this area, it's just a bit congested downtown to park. Service was fun, prices fair for the whole experience. Loved it!

I really took a liking to the El Capitan - it had a nice spicy kick to it. The Old Fashioned was definitely solid, and the Pisco Sours were well-liked by a couple of guests in our party. Aside from the food, the ambiance was great. It wasn't too loud, with nice Latin music playing in the background, and the decor was very cultural and colorful. The bathroom was actually pretty nice, too, with a good vibe to it. The staff was super friendly. The servers offered great suggestions on what to eat, took birthday pictures for us, and were just extremely welcoming. Even the hostess came over to our table to greet us and thank us for coming. It was crowded that night, so the only thing I would say is there was a tiny bit of a wait just to get our order in.
