I came here with my wife and 4 year old son and we had a good time. First, the experience is pretty intense so I would recommend choosing the least scary experience (the one with the robot bandits, I think) if you have a young kid with you. We chose Dark Castle because my son likes skeletons, but it ended up being a little overwhelming for him. Basically, they strap you into a chair, you have a laser blaster and 3D glasses, and you fire at all of the stuff leaping out at you from the screen. There were definitely some jump scares that startled everyone. If you get too scared, you can perform a gesture to the attendant to stop your chair from moving or even stop the ride entirely, which I thought was nice. I thought the ride was a lot of fun, personally, but my son was pretty scared, as mentioned before. Overall, I'd definitely do this again as an adult, but I'd be wary of taking my young kids with me. read more

The place its self was amazing and a brilliant concept but a specific employee made it unbearable. Our "guns" weren't calibrated right and the employee tried to fix it but she only made it worse and we constantly tried to explain to her what was wrong but she refused to be wrong. My boyfriend tried to show her to properly calibrate some of the guns that were working and she ignored him. When she did calibrate then she would stand off the side and have the gun tilted causing the gun to be pointed one way but the "x" that shows effects it was on screen would be way off. We played the "movie" 3 times and each time i was not in the game even when i'm in the chair, they were obviously having technical difficulties but the employee refused to be wrong. When we asked about a refund the employee said "but i gave yall a free game" that is wrong, i was never in the game once so i never got to actually play then the last round my boyfriend wasn't in either! Exploring Groupon prior to our vacation we came across a deal to try these guys out. Actually a couple locations, 1 in Pigeon Forge and one in Gatlinburg, so keep that in mind if you are purchasing the Groupon deal. We arrived at about 5:00 or 5:15 on a Sunday evening. Walked in and had no issues redeeming our Groupons. Staff member asked which show we wanted to experience (Zombies, werewolves, or I really can't remember the name....but basically ..... cartoon robot in the old west experience). He let us know he could get us in on the Zombie one he was getting ready to start or to give him 10 minutes and he'd get us on whichever one we wanted. We went with the robot ride. He took us in explained the details and got us set ups for the shoot 'em up thrill ride. Once it started the 3D was in full effect and the seats start moving with the screen. Shoot the robots, protect the civilians, hit the bonus items, score the most points and you win. If I were the type of person to keep track of those type of things I'd have noticed I scored the most points, but I'm really not sure who won. Kind of pricey, but a good change of pace. The ride itself goes for about 5 - 7 min, so not exceptionally long. This attraction is a 5.5 minute interactive video game combined with a ride simulator that moves during the action. You can choose from 3 different game scenarios. Since we had young kids, we chose one of the "less" scary versions. The object was to shoot bad guys while the ride moved on a virtual train track. The experience was pretty cool because it was in 3d (you wear glasses), had some thrilling drops, and it takes pictures of the winning shooters. This is a fun activity for a group because everyone shares in the game experience. While it is a little pricey, I'm glad that we did it. read more

As we planned out our vacation we came across the 7D Adventure on Groupon. I think my boyfriend paid around $24 for 4 people, so in fact he booked it sight unseen just because it seemed like a great deal. Regular price per the website is $9 something a person online or $10.99 at the door. We walked into the location and were given a choice of theme. I am a sissy so I chose the "robots invade the west" theme over zombies or werewolves. Once we went inside it was set up like a small movie theater. There were 12 seats but only us 4 and 2 others were occupied. Your chair is equipped with a laser tag type gun. After a brief overview, the interactive movie starts and you shoot the bad guys but not the civilians. At the end it shows your ranking by taking a picture of you and placing your score underneath. In case you are wondering, I came in second but I wasn't wearing the 3D glasses (they make me queasy) nor my regular eyeglasses. The 7D part comes in when the seats interact with the cartoon-like movie making it feel like you move around, up, down, etc. I did feel my heart rate going up as we seemed to go over a waterfall! It was fun but seemed to be over very quickly. Kids around 8-12 years old will probably get the most out of it, and you could let them do a few rounds themselves and they would probably have a blast. For myself, I would probably not do it again even if it was free. So I gave it a generous 3 stars because I feel like to judge a kids activity by adult standards is a little unfair. Plus it was nice and new and the staff was friendly. But I could not bring myself to give it more than that because of the brief length and I don't feel that it lives up to the hype. read more

This was a real fun experience. My kids were really looking forward to playing this game, and let me say that it did not disappoint us. Got to the counter and realized I did not purchase my groupon. Destiny at the counter told me that they could do a even better deal for me, and they did. The wait was a few minutes, but we were able to view the other players play the game while we waited. Once it was our turn, they were very prompt in moving everyone into the 7D room, the guy gave us instructions on how to play the game, and after that we started. The game last about 5 mins, and is very interactive. We all wanted to play again, but will save this for our next trip. If your in the area this is a MUST. Very disappointed! Went online to find this place and it showed that it closed at 10:00pm. My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes, parked our car in a far away lot, and rode the trolley to The Island to visit this place. We arrived at 7:58pm to find that they actually close at 8:00pm! We walked into the establishment and waited for an employee to arrive so we could enter the theater. A few moments later an employee showed and without any introduction and said, rudely, "I'm closing up. This is my last ride," and continued with his work. No empathy whatsoever! I arrived before closing and could not find any hours of operation on the establishment. I am truly disappointed. Had no idea what this was when we first arrived. We paid for a single ride then jumped in line. We finally picked up that is was a interactive game type ride and got pretty excited. You were allowed to ride any or all of the 3 rides and their system to get people through quickly and in an easier manner, was a bit complicated and ended up causing some confusion with some of the customers. One In particular who yelled, cussed, and complained the ENTIRE 45 minutes we waited in line. Finally, we made it to our turn only to have the whole thing stop working. We sat another 10 minutes while they tried to fix it, then another 30 minutes while they gave refunds. It wasted a lot of time. But I understand it's not their fault. I'm giving 3 stars because of the wait and how complicated they made the viewing order. read more
