They only offer a few bagged items for snacks, but do have table service with drinks. I had beer, but I think that others were having liquor, but not 100%. You've stopped by the Westin, outside Mallory Square for a cocktail. The sky overhead is painting poetry with colors you never even knew existed... A little french man, begins lugging cage after cage, box after box, pole after pole. You smile, slurp the last of the liquid in your cup and gaze out to sea. The little french man, begins concocting a trapeze and tight rope, a la Mouse Trap, the old 80's game. You order another cocktail and glance amusedly at the astro turf and four super tall stools the little french man has put together. Fast Forward an hour. You are borderline buzzed and laugh with glee at the cat show unfolding before you. The little French Man has trained a dozen or so stray cats. He urges them along with the catchphrase " 'Urry Uuup - Take Yuuur Taaaahme" and tosses tuna at them while they jump through hoops of fire and other fun tricks and acrobatics.

He keeps them in tiny cages and has them jump hurdles. Anyone who can read a cats body language can see that the twitching of the tail is stress, not pleasure. He constantly was screaming in the background as people were lined up to watch the sunset. I think he should be removed. Abusive for the poor cats.

I was sitting by the bar of my B&B one afternoon when the bartender casually mentioned the "cat man…read moredown by the Westin". My ears perked up and my heart skipped a beat. Cat man? Where? He trains cats to do tricks? SIGN ME UP! I LOVE cats. I do, I just adore them. My husband, not so much. So I had to bribe him to come here. Several times through the show he whispered in my ear, "you owe me. BIG". I should admit, this was not my first cat rodeo. Several years ago I had the pleasure of seeing the Moscow Cat Circus in NYC. So that's my benchmark of a excellent cat show. Now the crazy French dude who runs this... he's no slouch in the cat training department. He puts on a good show. He's trained his cats to do all sorts of fun tricks. I don't know how people train cats. I had a cat for 12 years and I couldn't even get her to bury her own poop in the litterbox, so when someone trains a cat to climb a rope or jump through a flaming hoop I'm like, NO SHIT! THAT IS AMAZING! The dude who runs this is either acting crazy or is crazy. I think perhaps he acted crazy so long he actually became crazy, but who knows? He's more clever than me, he trains cats! It's a 20-ish minute long show and the man lives on tips, so if you watch his show toss the man some money! It is entertaining and I would recommend this to friends. Especially if you like cats.

The San Carlos institute is a magnificent building on Duvall street, Key West which now operates as…read morean historic Cuban heritage center. The building was founded in 1871 by Cuban exiles to support the fight for Cuba's independence from Spain and also had a school on the top floor to educate Cuban children. The entrance is free and the rooms are full of photographs and historical items. It's well worth stopping in. There is also a screening room that plays a 25 minute video. The architecture and design of the building is impressive.

I even had someone come over and explain with so much passion and detail the stories behind some of the things I could see in the frames on the walls.
