They have the worst online purchase policies! They make returns so difficult and keep you on the phone for over 15 minutes for a simple return to get a return label. They have all these rules for exceptions of returns and applying coupons they send you. They will tell you one thing one day and then tell you another thing the next week. I would never buy from them again and I've been a customer for decades and not realize why I seldom buy from this company because my memory waned over the many years.. I probaby had a bad experience over a decade ago and stopped buying from them and then tried buying from them again since they solicited me online.... even on What's App. The other tennis stores like Midwest Sports and Tennis Warehouse have MUCH better customer service online, they do not take forever to approve a return label, and products are usually less expensive and better stocked in those stores anyway. I also can't stand the way TE advertises discounts for certain products and when you get to the webpage, they don't even identify the size of the shoes or apparel until you put the item into the cart. The management must be control freaks since they do not give any lateral decision making ability to the telephone reps. They have to put you on hold for every little nuance such as combining orders for returns into one box, approving a discount code, etc... no wonder they have meek sounding telephone reps and supervisors who are in a quandry of what to do on every single situation. The management doesn't allow their staff to use their own brain. I would guess that this company out of all the online tennis stores will go downhill and out of business within the next 10 years. read more

Came in for same-day racket stringing (only an extra $5). They said it would take an hour and it only took 45 minutes! Excellent service, I just walked around the store while I waited and appreciated that no one tried to sell me on anything - just asked if I needed anything! It didn't arrive on time and they gave me a refund for the shipping fee and assured me that they'll send it with free 2day shipping. It has been more than a week now and still no shoes. Then I said it's fine whatever comes with the racket is fine. Then they proceed to tack on a $20+ charge and restrung the racket and won't ship the item until I pay an EXTRA charge. This is after waiting for a month for my order. I refused and eventually the customer service "waived" the unauthorized extra fee. Then a month later my racket's string knots went loose. I sent this today Sept 18, 2024 I have purchased from Tennis Express over the years and the last purchase I did this month, Order # 6082510 for tennis shoes were way too narrow when I tried them on. i was going to return for a better fit but found out the shipping cost was $ 34.00, so I held off. When I called the other day your representative said that I could not return them as it was a final sale which I was not aware of. (my fualt) That would have been okay if the shoe had fit but they are way too narrrow. If this their policy, then I will shop at other stores that have a product fit warranty. The Nike shoes have a mix of fabric and harder vinyl. You do need to unlace a bit to get the shoe on, but it has support for running on the court-they grip. For a normal width shoe--this is good. I am familiar with Nike shoes and the fit & insoles. The cloth version is easier to put on, but don't lend the same support--however, I buy both. read more

They gave me the coupon number and I plugged it in & then got an extra 15% back. I go through lots of court shoes, so I usually purchase two or three pair at a time, and their service has improved. I really enjoy the selection of shoes. It's extensive! When a new style of shoe comes out, they're quite expensive, but they tend to go on sale pretty quickly for at least a little bit off. During the ordering process is specifically stated there were 3 pairs left in my size which made this all the more annoying. I needed these shoes for an upcoming match and ended up having to use shoes that aren't meant for clay courts. This company mailed the purchased items to an old shipping address despite my entry of the current address. I never received the paid merchandise and the merchant refuses to do anything about it other than to suggest I pay more money for them to pick up (assuming it is still at that address which most likely it is not) and reship. Below par handling and extremely poor customer service.
