I arrived about 7 minutes early for class and the large gym space had about three people inside. The front desk was empty and there was no real way to know what to do to get checked in. I asked another person what I should do and she told me the instructor would be there any minute . A few more people came in right before class along with the instructor. The direction was to do the warm up. As someone new I expected a little bit of an overview and a warmer welcome. I introduced myself and said this is my first class so I don't know what to expect. The directions weren't much different than "warm up". I asked a few questions so I could understand the format of the class. Once I got this was strictly weight training with a circuit like format decided to just go with the flow. The workout itself was slow in the beginning, there was quite a bit of downtime and talking from other people in the class. While the workout was challenging I felt the directions and modeling were lacking. The gym itself was much like a large auxiliary gym and it appeared to be a shared space that isn't well managed because things were out of place, dusty, and someone else was trying to use the same equipment as the class during the class. Overall I think I got a good workout but there is some room for improvement to the space and operations.

Killer place for athletes that are serious. Staff is expert. Very welcoming to new people.read more

I really think pretty much everyone in Minnesota should at tend at least once. They do a good job of explaining the rules so first timers know what is going on. *Five stars for being a first class organization, good for families, supportive of lots of cool community stuff (like the Anne Bancroft Foundation and Project for Pride in Living) *Five stars for showcasing quality woman athletes of all sizes. *Five stars for the live band dance party during halftime. *Five stars for $11 tickets plus kids 9 and under are FREE. *Five stars for beer. (Ok, I'm not a big beer drinker, but I fully support beer sales at any event. I just do. The rest of the concessions were just a bit above average in the pricey but tasty popcorn style) (I brought in my own water and snacks, they were checking bags but not closely.) But. BUT. And I wouldn't dare take away a star, but I'm old. And my kids are young. Could you turn down the volume just a tad so I can have a conversation that doesn't involve yelling?. And maybe start the main bout just a half hour earlier? I don't mean to nit pick, and I didn't for one second think about taking away a star.

Mostly at the haircuts. As I mentioned in my previous review, I'm the biggest fan of tennis. I love it more than all sports combined. I've played in a summer WTT league here forever, but I've been playing at Baseline even more the last couple of years with USTA leagues year-round. The courts are in really good shape so I'm happy hitting here. There are changing rooms downstairs, and bleachers for my adoring fans both indoors and outdoors. They will re-string your racquet at the front desk and sell you balls if you forgot them. There's still some room for improvement and I outlined most of those things in my old review. Parking is easy ($4 at the lot in the back, which is usually empty), but it's a mess when there is a hockey game. My choices last Friday night were to wait in a 20 minute line of cars to pay $10 (and miss my court-time) or run five freezing blocks while wearing a tennis skirt. I couldn't feel my legs. Lesson learned... for this and many other reasons, beware of campus on Friday evenings.
