I began a full mouth reconstruction right before COVID hit. Dr Jay & has team continued the reconstruction as restrictions were lifted and he could get the office open. It took longer than usual because of the stops & starts, but Dr Jay and Tracy stuck with me thru all of it. I am not an easy patient, and this was no exception. The calming effect of everyone in the office eased my anxiety. The expertise of Dr Jay and the professional assistance from Tracy made me so confident in the outcome that I never worried about the final result. Just about the process. I had hated the way my teeth looked. I have worn nightguards most of my adult life after spending my teen years in braces. The constant teeth grinding moved my teeth around. Years of eating and drinking stained my teeth so they were never as white as I would like. Now my smile looks amazing. 2019 review: Dr Hidalgo and his staff are extremely pleasant and professional. As a new patient I was impressed with the VIP treatment from everyone in the office including Dr Hidalgo. During my many decades of visiting dentists and just as long working in healthcare as a nurse, I have never had such a comprehensive dental exam. Outstanding Dentist! The staff is very upfront and personal. I had a few old silver-mercury fillings from when I was a child that needed to be replaced. They replaced these with the new bonded fillings with excellent care and followup. I had this done 8AM on a Friday. 8pm Friday night, the staff called me to make sure I was OK! I was impressed. Now that I've had my childhood fillings redone, I'm an official 'boring dental patient' that only needs biannual cleanings and checkups. The staff here is lovely and the customer service I received was amazing! The dentist was very thorough and I never felt rushed as I have at visits with other dentists. I saw Dr. Tennyson for a TMJ issue and he was very open and honest that what I needed was more serious than what he could offer. The price of the visit was very fair and reasonable and I didn't have to worry about them trying to take advantage of you by offering services you didn't need. Dr Hildago is a great dentist, but be prepared to be incorrectly billed and then ignored when trying to resolve the matter. I have been disputing the bill I have continually received from Tennyson Lake Dental for months. Initially, I was told to disregard the bill I had received as they had been told the payment was in the mail from the insurance company. When I continued to receive bills, I called to inquire as to what the bill was for only to be given vague and unclear answers by the girl who took my calls. I was told I would be followed up with every single time and never received a call back. My daughter had dental insurance at the time of this visit and I was not informed at any point of my insurance being in or out of network. This visit was a routine check up and cleaning. Sealants were performed for which I payed the estimated out of pocket cost at the time of the office visit. The visit should have been covered 100% for and in network provider and 80% for an out of network provider based on my insurance benefits. ( Since this visit, my daughter has been to another dentist who noticed that one of the sealants applied by the hygienist has broken and another has completely fallen out.) I have continually asked for detailed statements to explain the bill I was receiving. They even took a credit from an amount that I overpaid on my account (which they failed to inform me of) and applied it to the amount due on my daughter's account. In looking over the statements that I was able to locate through my insurance, they are attempting to bill me for services that were never actually received, specifically the code for D2140 for an Amalgam on tooth 30. My daughter has NEVER had a filling performed at Tennyson Lake Dental, and has NEVER had an Amalgam performed at ANY dental office. When I called to inquire as to why I was being billed for codes on procedure that were not ever performed I was told that they didn't even see that code as billed and would investigate and call me back. I never received a call back or an explanation of any kind. This office is practicing fraudulent and unethical billing procedures. I have made a significant number of attempts to obtain answers, explanations, and statements explaining the charges only to be ignored and not provided with the information that I have a right to know as a patient. Texas law requires providers to provide an itemized bill on request and I have requested a detailed itemized statement more than four times since May 2019 and have yet to be provided with this information. I have tried to be patient and understanding but am now at my wits end with this mess. Avoid if you don't want a huge headache dealing with the billing office whom are either incompetent or deceitful (or both). read more

Dr. Jay told me he likes patients who are afraid of the dentist. That's me! I have a needle phobia and have had horrible experiences with many dentists. My mouth is small, I can't usually relax, and my teeth aren't the greatest (lots of fillings and crowns). Well, Dr. Jay babies me so much that I now tell people I'm going to the "tooth spa." He goes so slowly with the needles that I literally don't feel them. I get a blanket to stay warm. I get glasses to protect my eyes. I use a soft mouth guard that keeps my mouth open without getting lock jaw. And the nicest touch is they set me up with Pandora headphones. So sweet! read more

I'll cut to the chase in case you don't want to read the whole review. Dr Jay and everyone at Tennyson Lake Dental are amazing! My entire family uses him. I came in from out of town to see him! I went in for a deep cleaning after far too long and ended up needing some fillings. I've had some bad dentists before and I'm always a little nervous. Every step of the process was pain free. They communicated with me and let me know what was going on the whole time. And in the end my smile was restored! The only downside is I can't afford to fly into town every 6 months! read more

The service has been fine, although pricey. My husnands partial was constantly cracking and had to be replaced within a year (kiss another grand good bye). They have not stayed in touch for the follow up that is needed. Despite the fact that my husband had provided of our dental plan ID cards they only bill one company and demand the rest in immediate payment. This was not mentioned and we paid over $1500 out of pocket over two years - all of which would have been covered by the second plan. When I called to ask they were unapologetic and stated they will not coordinate benefits. Well - my dentist does and that is where we will be going in the future. read more
