I was immediately blown away by the instructor Sylvia Borowska, who is so knowledgeable about strength training. She runs her classes with warmth, energy, precision and humor. The vibe she creates along with Scott Leiendecker, who also teaches here, is women-friendly, queer-friendly, everyone-friendly--and between the two of them they have a combined 25+ years of teaching experience. After taking their classes consistently these past few months I can't believe the strength I'm building, and I look forward to working out every day. Because I wear a size 7 (on the smaller end), the socks fit a little more loose on me, but they are still perfect for my weekly pilates classes. Besides just having grippy socks, they also sell regular socks and apparel. In the store, they also hold classes! After shopping here, I loved my socks so much I bought another 8 pairs online. Classes usually start with a quick Q&A where I ask for guidance on any of the exercises I've been working on at home, and last an hour. The workout is as tough as you make it, and I always leave feeling good. The studio is small, but never feels cramped, and has a little library where students can check out books and DVDs for home exercises. After about 9 months of weekly sessions, all of my most severe lower back pain is gone, and I have dramatically improved sitting, standing, and sleeping posture. Needless to say when I saw…read morethis deal I said I had to do it (it sounded so sexy and unique) and somehow convinced two other girlfriends to sign up for the deal. With three girls, it was very hard to coordinate schedule on when we could take the class. Cody was very patient with me on scheduling classes, canceling, and rescheduling over a two month period. My girlfriends and I finally were able to schedule an aerial class with her in the Williamsburg location. She had three silks dedicated for a class of around 10 people. The newbies (us 3) had one sillk and the more experienced individuals took the others. Cody was very good at spending time with the newbies and teaching us the basics. Everyone, at the class, were also very supportive and gave us positive feedback. We were only able to learn the basics in one class. I wish there was more time to teach us some of the more complicated moves but that's what makes you want to come back for more. Let me just say that it's not as easy at it seems. The experience definitely humbled me. Just watching the regulars there, it was amazing to watch how sexy and free flowing the moves were.
