The Hibachi show was okay but the food stole the show. The Hibachi Chef made sure everything was to order, he even had me check my filet to make sure it was done the way I wanted. The quantity of food was amazing and made the cost well worth it. I consider myself a Hibachi affecianado and this restaurant is the best I have had in years!!!! Although the atmosphere is older and less inviting than Benihana or similar Japanese steakhouses, we still wanted to give the restaurant a fair chance. Unfortunately, our welcome was not particularly warm. No one smiled or seemed especially friendly, but we sat down and tried to enjoy the experience. The soup was extremely bland--almost like lightly flavored water with mushrooms and onions. The salad was acceptable, although it did not seem especially fresh and was covered with a large amount of ginger dressing. My wife ordered the hibachi chicken, and I ordered the chicken and shrimp. When the chef began cleaning the grill, the flames came dangerously close to my face. I have eaten at many hibachi restaurants and have never felt the need to back away from the table, but this time I did. The chef's performance was otherwise entertaining, and I must give credit where it is deserved: the fried rice was outstanding--possibly some of the best hibachi rice I have ever had. The chicken was also very flavorful and cooked well. Unfortunately, the shrimp ruined the meal for me. It was so rubbery that I could barely cut it with my fork and practically had to tear it apart. Although it had flavor, the texture and taste made it seem as though it was not fresh. I could not finish it. At the beginning of the meal, I asked whether they had yum-yum sauce and Sriracha, and our waiter brought one ramekin of each. When we finished them, we requested another of each. When the approximately $70 bill arrived, I discovered that we had been charged for all four small ramekins without being told there was an additional charge. The total was only about $4, and I paid it, but customers should be informed before being charged for condiments--especially twice. As we left, I noticed a drawer of mints with a sign specifically stating, "Only one mint per customer." After the undisclosed sauce charges and the questionable shrimp, that final detail reinforced the impression that the restaurant is cutting corners. The rice and chicken were excellent, but the unfriendly service, unsafe flare-up, rubbery shrimp, undisclosed condiment charges, and overall condition of the restaurant outweighed the positives. Sadly, we will not be returning.

The host and staff were really nice while I waited a few minutes before my order was ready. Packaging was solid and nothing tipped over and had plenty chopsticks and shoyu packets. The Red Dragon and Dynamite rolls were my favorite. The Akuma was an 8/10 only bc spicy crab is a hit or miss for me - to be fair I ate 5/8 of them.
