Nice atmosphere. The current menu does not match what's online now. Ie., there is not a chili relleno plate with beans and rice any longer. Only Al a carte. Which makes it ridiculous. Unfortunately that's what I came for.... 4 orders worth. The guacamole was good and that was a large serving. The two cheese chili relleno plate was good. BUT, one had the complete seed stem in it still. Unacceptable for sure. Feels like it's missing something though. The 3 barria tacos are not authentic but still tasted ok. The spinach and cheese enchiladas were good and cheesy. This seems to be a regular TN Mexican food restaurant. West coast or Mexico authentic not so much. read more

For all my fellow California transplants out there, avoid this spot. Trust me, I'm saving you the money and time. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this ain't it. Don't let other reviews try to tell you different. Bland and tasteless, every dish we ordered was lacking flavor. Everything from the salsa to the chile relleno is off. I ordered a bunch of items off the al la carte menu and was disappointed by everything. The ground beef and chicken they use as a main ingredient in so many dishes needs much more love put into it, very bland. My tamale was so dense and dry, it was almost inedible. The Chile relleno tasted as if it was frozen and reheated, and the breading that was on it was soggy and tasted off. The enchiladas were okay, but the ground beef ruined it. The burrito is very lackluster. My wife got the fajitas and they beef had no char to it, it was just completely gray and it looked like dog food. This place leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to the food. The service was super friendly and very attentive, they're the only reason I'm keeping my review above one star. The lighting is waaaaaay too bright, makes for a weird vibe in a Mexican restaurant. I heard a lot of hype for this place so I was excited to try it, but it misses the mark for us. Finally perhaps a place that is destined to keep this location open. Beautiful and bright inside with colorful booths. Excellent customer service from the time we entered. Greeted by several people and then seated. Wasn't super busy but it is new and not well known yet. Large menu selection. Comfortable seating. Had the Coctel de Cameron and two steak street tacos. Younger son has a la carte tacos (one soft & one crunchy) and a la carte grilled chicken enchilada. Fresh hot and tasty. This place never disappoints! You can't beat their $2.99 margaritas (I usually prefer frozen but I recommend on the rock here), they make them strong. I'm sure all their food is fire but I can't not get the steak street tacos! They will also give you different types of salsa if you ask. Service is always top notch too. read more

Visited Tequila Mexican Restaurant, they have been open for a month. My server Xóchitl got me set up with some water and a beer while I looked over the menu. Love it when beer is served in a frozen mug! I ordered the Chorizo Queso appetizer and based on Xóchitl's recommendations selected the Carnitas with beans & rice. The queso is really good and had a nice flavor, but no spice or zing at all. The Carnitas confused me...I asked Xóchitl if the Carnitas were fried and she told me they were. I thought the outside seemed "crispy" which made the exterior a little tough, but the inside was tender. I learned that this is the Crispy Carnitas version (who knew). Sadly the flavor you expect from carnitas was not there...the slow cooking, seasoning, etc just wasn't there. Overall the meal was OK when everything is taken into consideration and the service was very good. read more

We visited Tequila for the first time this evening. The place was reasonably busy. The food is quite tasty and well priced. The only major complaint is the cost of a large margarita vs a small margarita. I ordered a large and a friend ordered small. Once the small was consumed an additional small was ordered. While waiting for that order to arrive I finished the large margarita. When the small arrived we poured it into the large glass and it was the exact amount of the large drink. This is an insult and a ripoff! The large costs more than $10 and the small was on sale for $2.99. read more

Still my favorite place to get Mexican food in all of the boro!!! I tried the street tacos for the first time today and I think I might have found my new go to order. The Al Pastor was my favorite followed by the chorizo and then the chicken. They had so much flavor! The street corn dip and bean dip were really good. I'm all in! We've been here twice now and the service is outstanding. There is plenty of parking, but there is only one entrance. So, if you park on the left side, you have to walk around the building to get inside. The restaurant is well lit, bright, and vibrant! My husband ordered the Shrimp Poblano and I got a wet burrito with chicken. The first time I went, I ordered the a la carte Chili Relleno...it was huge! No complaints on the food. I also ordered a house margarita. I think Carmen's still has them beat on margaritas, but I'm really picky with my alcohol! We really enjoyed our lunch here. We scored a $2.99 margarita that was so yummy as well. We ordered a variety of street tacos, lunch carnitas, burrito supreme, and a dish with Carne asada and elotes, everything was tasty. We are planning to come back already to try their other dishes. Lots of Mexican food in Murfreesboro. None of them get it all right. This place does. If you don't think this place is authentic then you probably don't know Mexican food. I went to Tequila last night ( 4/6/24) i really wanted to like it and the parking lot seemed crowded so I had hope ..... and it was bashed .... When I walked I I was seated quickly .... I actually had three different people attending my table. I ordered a combo plate with. Beef burrito , a beef enchilada . And a tostada with Beans, beef, cheese and sour cream ..... this plate comes with refried beans and rice.... I also ordered a small cheese dip for my chips .... The cheese dip never came . They brought out the traditional chips and salsa... first red flag was the salsa looked and tasted like can tomatoes with added water and a few drops of spice !!! Super bland When my plate came it was not hot it was barely warm ... the flour tortilla my burrito was cheap and goopy.... I've bought better tortillas at Walmart . Enchilada was just ok .... Bland and not seasoned . I did not get the sour cream I asked for to go on my tostada so I had to ask for some ....... And still no cheese dip .... It never came out.... The beef across the board tasted cheap and had a strange consistency to it, almost tasting as if the beef had been boiled, instead of cooked on the stove, there was no seasoning in the beef whatsoever I'm not trying to pile on, but this place was honestly really bad. I would rent Taco Bell higher at least at Taco Bell they seasoned the meat. So, if you go here after reading this, don't blame me, you've been warned..... just saying read more

The food is amazing. Very authentic. The salsa is to die for as is the cheese dip. You will not be disappointed. People that disagree have no taste. The steaks are so tender.
