Not one of our regular places, we stopped by when we were out for a ride mid-afternoon on a Saturday. We will definitely will be back. Can't rate all their food, but the staff was very friendly. Had a good Margarita and I will flat say the best Al Pastor and Carne Asada Street Tacos I've had in this area. Well seasoned, very juicy and generous serving. Definitely need to make sure they double the Tortillas (Just ask). For those that are wondering, I would call them Northern style like Juarez, Very Juicy, good amount of cilantro and onion and served with tomatillo Recommend trying the Habanero Avocado salsa. Food was okay, pretty much typical fried food covered in cheese to mask the lack of taste. But the waitress dumped a whole tray of salsa and strawberry jarritos (strawberry soda) on my girlfriend. Granted it was a mistake and we tried to be gracious and not punish the waitress more than we had to as it was an accident. But instead of our meal being comped or a free fried ice cream, she has the nerve to give us three dollars off of our check. Three Dollars?!?!?! That is not how you keep customers. We drive to this location from Shiloh because their food is always top-notch. We recommend this location to friends. I will have to make this a qualified recommendation tonight because we ordered a taco salad and a three-taco plate and both were served with CABBAGE instead of lettuce. The restaurant was very crowded tonight and we had a new server who was late taking our order (didn't realize we were there). When we got about halfway finished with our entrees, we thought the lettuce looked a little WHITE and had an odd consistency. It was cabbage. We flagged down one of the more experienced servers and she told us they had been serving cabbage ALL DAY. Ouch. I hope they clear this up. I think I would have gone down the street to Tom's Market and bought some emergency lettuce, eh? They comped us one entree and my Bud Light. Their guacamole and their chips are excellent. We will eat here again next week but we will be on the lookout for cabbage. If I wanted cabbage I would so someplace that serves coleslaw. Oh, towards the end of the meal, the server asked me if I had ever eaten at Joe's Crab Shack because I tucked my napkin into my sweatshirt collar. She went on to explain how they give you a bib if you order lobster. I think she was trying to establish some rapport with us. This was the wrong way to do it. We did leave her a gratuity. read more

This is NOT exactly the same menu fixed for you from the other ST. Louis or Columbia or even Waterloo locations... It isn't prepared the same way. The burritos for example are prepared much differently. Anyway its pretty much the same decor (except Waterloo IL which is horrible). A fun place to be (we have been coming here weekly for years). All the staff is great. Ask for Ashley on Thursdays and be prepared to be stunned in her service AND her.... uh... shall we say stunning appearance. The wine is superb at $4.50 a glass... not the 5 or even 8 dollars in St. Louis. Marguerita pitchers on Thursday nights are well attended so get there by 5pm. Patio seating is large and needs more green plants to make it appealing. Freeburg is so lucky to have a fun place like this with patio dining. Entertainment sometimes inside or out. read more

i really enjoy coming here to tequila's when i want the best Mexican food around... their chips are the best, they are like thin and light...never stale and and the salsa is so yummy! the atmosphere is nice inside, it is fairly quiet unless they have a band playing... last time i was there they had a real mariachi band there and it was AWESOME!!!! The portion is huge for the price you pay and it is seriously delicious. I love their chips and salsa as well. Terrible service. Got in an argument with the manager Manny who refused to provide additional chips to my wife on our to-go order. My wife and I ordered 2 entrees and a side of cheese dip, which we were granted 1 bag of chips. You normally get 1 bag of chips to go along with the salsa provided with all orders, so we asked for an additional bag to go with our cheese dip. The manager refused to provide anymore chips without charging us more money. These are the same chips they provide in an all you can eat fashion while dining in. The manager lied to us on multiple accounts and wouldn't provide us with a higher up person or owner to discuss our disappointment and treated us very poorly on a follow up phone call. This is a restaurant that we have been to dozens of times in the past but won't be anymore. They're essentially lost a repeat customer over a 99 cent bag of chips. They need to understand there are repercussions for bad customer service. Word of mouth is powerful. read more
