Fish taco with guacamole, pico and mild salsa.

Unassuming looking place in a strip mall, but the food was fantastic! We were there on a Saturday afternoon and there was a continuous stream of people coming in. I had the fish tacos and they put the fish in the fryer when I ordered them so super fresh! My husband got a burrito which they loaded up! And when they accidentally tore the tortilla, they promptly wrapped it in a new one! And the kids got churros which they made fresh and brought to the table. Overall, I would recommend and would definitely go back!

    Barbacoa tacos with Sangria Señorial

Decided to try Taqueria Olvera today based on their rave reviews and I was in the area. I ordered three barbacoa corn tacos (they come with three). They have a topping bar where you tell them what you want as toppings, guacamole, onion, cilantro, pico de gallo, limes etc. The tacos were authentic. Estoy Tejano. The barbacoa was spot on and they give you a good potion of meat and toppings. You know the place is good when it's 50/50 people ordering in Spanish and English. The service was great and quick. They have plenty of tables inside and after I got there a line formed, but they got through it quickly. Food Network was playing on the tv, which is always an added plus for me. They have a wide variety of Jarritos, margaritas, and Sangria Señorial.

    Three small corn tacos

Hate to be the one who disagrees with the rave reviews but this is not a $ place for meals. We thought we would have a light meal of three corn tacos each for Taco Tuesday but ended up paying thirty dollars for them! Caution to not get the guac because they charge you $6 extra just for a dollop. No mention of that when ordering that from the counter. Once again you order from the counter and carry your tray to your chosen table, but they have the option of asking for a tip to your face then though you kindly decline one Mexican says to the other in English "Did you get a tip?" Most offensive for us to hear especially when the bill was too high loaded with hidden costs. If they want to nickel and dime us then be upfront about it and tell us that thcosts extra but at $5 a small taco I will not return. The food was just meh, not cooked to order and spread out behind the counter.

3 tacos for my wife and me. $30. Pricy! Guacamole (a minimal amount) was $6 extra, but no notice of additional cost.

Wife and I took a quick date night here. It was a fun change on the typical Mexican style restaurantw They were quick and friendly. Service was nice and explained all the options to us. The food was spot on what we hoped for, just something fresh and new we hadn't tried. This one is worth a trip :)

We were in the area and decided to stop and try this place. You know a foreign restaurant is good when it's full of non English speaking people. This place is set up like chipotle, pick a entree and customize with the way you want. Absolutely incredible, can't go wrong with really anything you get from what I could tell. One word of caution, their salsa is spicy! A medium is really spicy!

This was a perfect stop for a quick but junky lunch before hitting the road to go home. This area has many places to eat, but they were mostly nation-wide chains i have been to, so I wanted something I never had tried. Taqueria Olvera had variety of meat options and I tried pastor, asada and barbacoa tacos which were all great. There was a line but it went quickly as their staff were efficient and quick. They put a generous amount of meat and toppings on my tacos and I felt so stuffed after finishing all three. Just missing one star because of the cleanliness. Tables could have been kept a little cleaner I think, and there were several big flies in the dining room which came close to my food many times.

If you're near St. Louis this place is awesome! Hidden gem. Delicious, authentic, fast, affordable, and close to the interstate.

Was given chips and also when we sat, but never asked if we wanted a refill on either. Now for the food! Honey Bbq Quesadilla- Portion side was good. Came with rice, beans, sour cream, guac and Pico. Only request would be for it to come cut, since they add Bbq sauce to the top. Arroz Con Pollo - we left off all veggies and subbed out the rice for French fries. Most restaurants have no issue doing this. Unfortunately here we were told they couldn't do that, but if they did it would be a up charge. We went with it since that it what my daughter enjoys. Burrito Bowl with Chorizo tasted wonderful and portion size was great! California Burrito - was just ok. Was super greasy on the bottom. It was also served wrapped in foil and in a basket for a dine in order. Made it very difficult to eat. Was expecting it to be served on a plate smothered in cheese like most Mexican places. Mexican Street Corn delicious as always! Would have been nice to have been offered more tajin. Plenty of parking! No wait, plenty of seating, but we were there at 2 in the afternoon

However, tonight's experience was very disappointing due to a waitress who apparently didn't want to wait on us. Upon arrival, we asked if we could sit in the bar area and was led to a dirty table. Instead of her wiping the table and removing the trash that was left behind by previous patrons, the waitress places the menus down and starts to walk away. My aunt then asked if she could remove the trash and wipe the table. The waitress looked angry, walked over to an employee who was wiping another table, took the cloth from her then proceeded to walk over to our table. She didn't bother to rinse the towel or apply more cleaner but wiped the table and walked away with an attitude. My family and I decided to leave instead of staying to see what other trifling and rude service we were in store for. When my family member called the manager, he said the waitress is nice and something must have happened to her for her to act that way. Say what?! He actually made an excuse for her nastiness towards us and thought it was ok. No thank you! We will not spend our dollars where we are mistreated. That's your job to make sure the tables are clean and to be of service. We had a very enjoyable experience with staff and food at Rio Grande! After pleasantly greeting us, the waitress said "let me make sure your table is clean" before she escorted us to a table.

My "grilled chicken " tasted like it was was fresh out the freezer and was really watery, the salsa was also sour. My margarita was ok, was supposed so be frozen but was mostly just slush.
