We ordered 8 tacos de birria and 4 quesabirrias, 1 bowl of Albonidgas (Mexican meatball soup), and 1 chicken taco for my kid. The food took a while to get but it was because they handmade their tortillas which were huge 12 inch tortillas. They prepare/cook everything as you order it, so the wait was well worth it. The tortillas were some of the best I have ever had. We all got so full because these tacos were as big as my face. My son's chicken tacos were the small traditional street tacos but the chicken was so tender and flavorful. The beef birria was not greasy and so finger licking good. The consome (broth) was so good that my sister took it to go. My husband told me he over ate his capacity because the quesa birria was the best he has had. The cheese looked so thick and melted. I have a super picky nephew and he finished the gigantic bowl of Albondigas and damn near licked the bowl. The salsas were FIRE! The red was my fave- layers of chile flavor. The family is super nice and hospitable. They take cash or Zelle. The patio seating was a little tight but everything was really clean. They had two agua frescas- Guayanba and Horchata. We got some soft drinks and went next door to get a different agua fresca, but otherwise, this place was perfect!

Coincidentally I tried the Taqueria El Milagro food truck in San Juan Bautista last week, so I had a basis for a direct comparison. Mi Lindo Apatzingan is located in a foody lot off First Street. I counted 15 separate food trucks, plus a stage, a bouncy house, a covered seating area, and even a small bar. I was there early, but there was music playing, kids in the bouncy house, and it felt like a fun place. During the time I was there, Mi Lindo Apatzingan seemed to be doing the best business. Some of the other reviews I read complained about slow service. All I can say is that the service was really friendly and the food came out fast. I order tacos de asada. They were really good, but the tortillas were a little dry. They were not quite as good as the tacos de asada I had at Taqueria El Milagro. But here's a big difference: the order cost $18. In San Juan Bautista, they were $11, and because I got them on "taco Thursday" they were $6. My friend had the carne asada platter. He said the beef was a little bland (but he didn't use any salsa). The rice was good, but the beans were a little watery. I realized afterwards I should have tried the birria - I'll get that next time. Bottom Line: * Fast, friendly service * Fun, family-friendly atmosphere * Lots of other choices if Mi Lindo Apatzingan doesn't appeal to you * Food was good, but not (in my opinion) "best in the Bay Area" level. Actually when you step inside, it indeed IS the kitchen which doubles as a pickup spot (no seats, no signs, I just showed the guy my order on my phone and he handed me my food packed neatly in a paper bag). The chicken was well flavored and they put an ample amount on top of the burger. Wow! What a great combo. I also tried the maracuya (passion fruit) drink and it was so good! I like that it wasn't too sweet. It's fresh and refreshing. They are pretty busy because it's their opening so there might be a wait but it's totally worth it.
