The coffee was pretty average, we went there just to be able to work somewhere. They have one outlet only, and the place has too little sunlight for my liking but it was fine, there's plenty of space to sit down and work, and it seems like many people go there to work. Love this spot! They have the best chai tea, iced or hot. My favorite is the Tiger Spice Chai. I love it hot and cold, but there's a slight nod to hot. If you can't do regular sugar, they have an Orca Spice Chai (hot or cold), which uses sugar free sucralos. As sugar free drinks go, it's still tasty. As for eats, I alternate between the breakfast wrap (pico de gallo added) and the empanaditas (two are beef and two have fresh cheese). I've definitely ordered the wrap more, so I guess it's my favorite. I love that it comes with a small fresh fruit cup. And after I eat the half for breakfast, I can have the other half for lunch. As for the empanaditas, although I enjoy both kind, there's an obvious nod to the beef. They come with three delicious sauces. If you're going to dine at a Venezuelan restaurant, why not try the empanaditas. I doubt you'll regret it. I've also had the avocado toast, the croissant, the waffle and the scrambled egg (added side of bacon). Not once have I been disappointed. Here's What I Think... Surprisingly light bread, and it came out in decent time (they give you a buzzer to pick Up your food when it's ready). We stopped by during our visit to Palo Alto and saw that there a lot of people drinking coffee and tapping away at their laptops at the cafe on a weekend afternoon. It gave me such college campus vibes and we decided to check it out. Got the spicy maya hot chocolate and a chicken chipotle quesadilla. The hot chocolate had a light spicy kick and the quesadilla was simple but tasty and more importantly crispy. It came with some pico de gallo which I liked but then it made me want some guacamole and sour cream to go along with it. The cafe stayed busy as people came in and out to order or pick up to-go orders. They have an app so you can order online ahead of time as well as collect rewards. I was in Palo Alto on a beautiful day and needed a spot to work, grab a drink, and enjoy a light bite. This café seemed popular, so I decided to give it a try. The ordering system is very convenient. I have gone to Coupa Cafe Mountain View over the years and always have a positive experience whether I dine in, grab a coffee and go, or pre-order and pick up. There's lots of great seating for working and studying, so it's probably for the better that I don't go to Stanford, because otherwise I'd probably blow all of my money studying at cafes. I came here on a Saturday morning brunch with a group of people wanting to practice our French ! There was quite a lot of outdoor seating, which was nice as I brought my family maltipoo along. The inside of the cafe also looked really lovely, and one of these days I will have to just go and sit inside. I came to Coupa Cafe on a Thursday for lunch, a little after noon. The cafe wasn't packed to the brim, but there were many people sitting at the tables doing work or studying. I ordered the breakfast wrap, but Coupa has a pretty large menu covering breakfast items as well as lunch items. It took a while to get my order, and I did notice that someone who had ordered the same item after me had gotten their order first. Nonetheless, I enjoyed how the breakfast wrap came out fresh and warm. The wrap itself was not the largest portion, but the ingredients were fresh. Meshed together, it wasn't anything extraordinary, but it did serve well as a reliable breakfast wrap -- a typical one you'd expect. Again, not bad, but nothing out of the water. Overall, Coupa Cafe has a cute vibe that can be enjoyed whether you're looking to be productive or just looking to relax and eat. We chose this restaurant as they it looked like they had good brunch, salad, and coffee options. I get that salads are ~$20 these days, but I do expect some abundance of leaves in there and a decent amount of protein. My salad portion was so small, barely the size of a fork squared. My coffee was mediocre and came out lukewarm, which meant it had been sitting for a while. And the service was nonexistent. I've been going here for several years and blown probably hundreds (oops) on their food and drinks. There are plenty of coffee shops in downtown but this is my go-to when I want a cozy, warm space to catch up with a friend and get some work done. It's not perfect but it checks enough boxes for me. Coupa's Spicy Maya Hot Chocolate is far and away their best drink. When frothed right, which it usually is but sometimes not enough depending who's making it, this is the perfect cold weather beverage. Creamy, sweet, and the tiniest bit spicy. I usually get mine dairy-free and the consistency is still great. I've tried the coffee beverages here as well, but would recommend other shops for a latte or Americano. I don't normally order food here, but the chicken chipotle quesadilla, chicken chipotle panini, and carne mechada panini are the ones I go for when I do. While they're not the cheapest, they're good for a quick bite and come out pretty quickly. I don't get the pastries or desserts, since I've been underwhelmed by those in the past. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with heaters. Indoor seating is usually filled up on any given afternoon, so best of luck. There are skylights in the back of the cafe so you can get some natural light. They also play music but it's not overwhelmingly loud. I'm pretty sure the employees know my face by now, and the ladies there are really friendly. They do somehow manage to spell my name wrong every. Single. Time. Last time I was Mararette. I've also been Margat and Margrette. Spelling is hard. Occasionally they forget to make my order, but they're apologetic when it happens and I can look past that. This Coupa location is such a classic, outlasting so many other establishments that have come and gone. Ambiance 4/5 Good atmosphere and a comfortable setup. The music was a little loud for casual conversation, but not overwhelming. Food: 2.5/5 (Just for the Capresa Panini) I ordered the Capresa Panini -- mozzarella, tomato, arugula, pesto, and garlic aioli -- which sounded fantastic. But when it arrived, the bread was barely warm and the cheese wasn't melted! :( That surprised me because this is labeled as a panini, and by definition, a panini is usually grilled and pressed with melted cheese and warm fillings. This felt more like a cold sandwich on toasted bread... If this is intended to be served that way, then I think it would help to rename it so expectations are clearer. That said, this rating is just for that item. I've had other things here I enjoyed, and the overall vibe -- plus the thoughtful follow-up from the owner -- left me with a positive impression of the place overall.
