All religious organisations should follow suit! Anyway, just follow the signs that lead into a room that has a counter with chafing dishes and some industrial sized fridges. Someone actually approached me, asked if it was my first time, and helped me to order! P.S. He also tried to upsell me, so that guy was doing his job. In comparison to dining out, prices are quite reasonable. A dozen pierogies were ~$8, a tall plastic container of soup was $6, $10 for 8 smallish, but adequate sized cabbage rolls, etc. Menu is also online, so you can call ahead! With the exception of the baked goods, everything else is made on-site. Soup was really tasty and garlicky! It only had goosha of beets. Rice/pork cabbage rolls were REALLY good. There were other kinds available as well. They also stamp a loyalty card with each purchase and when it's full, you get some bonus pierogies. I'd definitely go back to try some other EE specialties! Btw, it's takeout only. So no place to sit. Service was nice, but more "relaxed". Lady in front of me was ordering a feast!

Great! 4.8/5…read more Dumpling lover finally came here so excited! Across the street from Toronto Western Hospital. It is in the Ukrainian church basement. Parking (paid) is right beside the church. Enter the door on the north side of the building, following signs to help you find the way to where their perogies are! I got Ready to eat (take out) - Potato and Cheddar Cheese Perogy - Sauerkraut and Mushroom Perogy Frozen - Potato and Cheddar Cheese Perogy - Sauerkraut and Mushroom Perogy - Mushroom Vushka The take out perogies were great, especially the potato & cheddar one. I am not a fan of potato & cheddar cheese perogies - and I wanted to try their potato & cottage cheese one. But they were sold-out when I was here. It was around 4:30pm. So, I got the potato & cheddar. But surprisingly the potato & cheddar tasted great! Right saltiness. They bring out the best of potato flavor, fluffy yet creamy texture, with a hint of cheddar cheese - oh they were sooooo good. I felt that the sauerkraut and mushroom one was a bit too sour for my liking. I wished for more mushroom flavor in it as well. But the wrapper itself had character, natural, chewy and soft. Nothing goes wrong with this wrapper! Frozen perogies were a bit tricky. Unlike other store bought frozen perogies, they came in tin-foil container, and it instructs to heat in the oven n 20-25 mins. One container had 12 pcs, which is too much for my household (2 persons). I tried to boil a few, which turned out to be flabby leaking perogies. Then I tried to fry a few, adding a bit of water. Which was a huge success! Most impressive was Mushroom Vushka. Full of Mushroom flavor enclosed in this tasty wrapper. Addictive. I should come back for this again. I liked this place a lot, humble and truly tasty! Cannot wait to try more food here!

We ordered the vegan cabbage roll plus vegan potato and onion pierogies, plus a lentil chebureck which was divine with the lightly tart sour kraut on top, and finished with a mix of blueberry and sour cherry pierogies. Service was wholesome. Olga took great care of us and others while she was a one-woman show running the kitchen, ordering, and serving!

The tables were full while were there...we had to flag a waiter to get our order. Once that was done, the food came fast. We ordered many dishes to try. I have no complaints at all, and here are some of my favourites: Veal steak - nice and tender. And I love the sauce which has a kick to it. Cabbage rolls - a must try!!!!!!! Hummus- super tasty with the bread Osso buco - the meat was very good with the sauce it was in I love the live entertainment. The guy was talented!!! I'm always searching for Eastern European food as I missed this food that I used to get in Etobicoke but it's a little far from Markham so now I finally found one that is close by.If uou're looking for something new to try, give this place a try! Their meat dumplings (Plemeny)in mushroom sauce is delicious.Tibetan Mo mo used to be my favorite dumplings but now is Russian Plemeny dumplings. For our mains, we got the grilled salmon skewer and Beef Stroganoff to share for the 3 of us us since our appetizers, perogies, borsh soup and meatdumplingsitems were more substantial (not light dishes)so we didn't need individual maiins. They also give you a basket of complimentary bread slices to start so I recommend you get get the Egggplant Ikura spread cause it goes nicely with the bread(double check that you'll get bread).Since this was our first visit I'm not dure if they always give bread.Booth maindishes were delicious! I like to try their cabbage rolls on our next visit! I actually have a long list of items to try on our next visit so we'll definitely be back!

The owner (I believe she is the owner) greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. She brought us water and menus. My sister and I ordered 2 cabbage rolls, Potato and Cheese Pierogies, Meat Pierogies with bacon and onions to share. For my son, we tried ordering the schnitzel sandwich, but was told that was unavailable. My son doesn't eat mashed potatoes so I asked if I could just order him a schnitzel and she said yes. The food came out in about 15 minutes. The cabbage rolls were fantastic, the perfect amount of acidity in the sauce. I really don't like tomatoes or cabbage, but there is something special about the cabbage rolls. I ate very bit of mine. The pierogies were wonderful. I usually prefer just potato and cheese, but honestly between those and the meat, I couldn't decide which I liked more. Both were flavorful especially with the sauteed onions and sour cream. My son's schnitzel was huge! He could only eat about half of it and when my son asked for ketchup (much to my dismay) the owner was very nice about it and commented that's the way her daughter likes it too. Honestly the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was great. It was very similar to what I had in Poland. If this restaurant was closer to my home I would visit often. We had no issue with parking. We were able to get a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Parking was also not too expensive since you aren't in the downtown area. If you are in the area and want a wonderful meal, be sure to visit.
