I went to Teresa's Prime for the first time last night. My wife wanted to take me out for my birthday and I had wanted to try Teresa's, so we made reservations for 6:30. We arrived right at 6:30 and we were promptly attended to and seated. Our server Edison was excellent! He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, cocktail, and wine lists. We started with two cocktails. My wife got the Chocolate Raspberry Martini. It was creamy and perfectly balanced. I got the Strawberry Basil Mule. It was delightful. It was a great mix of the strawberry purée and basil with ginger beer and vodka. For an appetizer, we got the Tuna Tartar. Both my wife and I agreed it was one of the best tuna dishes we've had. The balance of all the ingredients was spot on! For our main courses, my wife got the Shrimp Scampi and I got the Surf and Turf. The Surf and Turf was an 8oz filet and two jumbo stuffed shrimp served with mashed and grilled Asparagus. Both dishes were delicious and prepared and cooked perfectly. The shrimp were huge and both the shrimp and my filet were cooked perfectly! I also wanted to try the Parmesan truffle risotto that I was on the fence about getting. Thankfully Edison talked me into getting it because it was awesome!! We ended dinner with a cannoli and an espresso. The cannoli cream was amazing silky and delicious. Pleasantly surprised. We went there three years ago and swore we would never go back, service was terrible. The only saving grace back then was the bacon appetizer. My husband had a craving for it so we decided to try again. It was fabulous. Service and our server was prompt , knowledgeable and friendly. The bacon appetizer did not disappoint. It was delicious. I had the 8 oz filet and my husband had the NY sirloin. Both cooked to perfection. We selected the mushrooms with caramelized onions, the brussels sprouts with pancetta and the fries. All were great accompaniments to our steaks. I also had bearnaise on the side. We selected, with help from our server, a nice bottle of Cabernet to go with our meat. Went to Teresa prime last night for our "date night" and we were extremely impressed with our visit from start to finish. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by the friendly hostess, she brought us in immediately and sat us at a cozy round booth right next to the fire place. The ambiance was excellent! Friday nights they have a live jazz band, the music was just right and it was not too loud but just loud enough for you to enjoy it. The restaurant has an elegant-cozy feel. Our server Nik was very friendly and attentive. They had an extensive wine list and some specialty cocktails, however we are both beer drinkers so we stuck to their draft menu instead! There is a decent amount of choices on their menu, I was mostly impressed by all of the add-on options they had for their steak cuts! Including things such as chimichurri, different sauces, butters and so forth! We ordered the calamari to start which was delicious and we both ended up with the 8oz filet and the meals came with a choice of 2 sides! We both ended up with corn and he got the potatoes au gratin and I stuck with the mashed. Everything was delicious! We didn't save room for dessert but the dessert menu and after dinner drink options were very tempting! Overall I would most definitely recommend Teresa's prime! We didn't know anything about this restaurant but we had Phantom Gourmet gift cards which they take. We liked this place right from the start. It looks like a golf club from outside and I guess they have - or had - a banquet room. And downstairs is Grille 19 which is more like a sports bar. But upstairs is Teresa's and we immediately took to the ambiance. The room is not particularly big - 20 or so tables - but they have those big semicircular booths. I got wine, my wife got Sangria, both good. Our server - whose name I forget - had a cheery, upbeat personality and seemed to really enjoy her work, something I always like to see. My wife ordered the special which was swordfish with crabmeat which she pronounced excellent. I got the 16-oz ribeye because I love steak. This was a really good one, made medium rare and buttery. Unlike a lot of steakhouses, I didn't have to get everything a la carte. So I ordered steak fries (only a few, but big) and creamed spinach. I also paid for a side of caramelized onions with mushrooms, all excellent. Bread was good, too. This place was very good and BTW, they also have a small Italian menu. They also have bacon as an appetizer and that can't be a bad thing. Now this visit only cost me the tip as the rest was covered by the gift cards. But the tab was $140 (we skipped dessert and appetizer or it could easily have gone up to $180 or so.) A big splurge night but we'll definitely be back. read more

Staff was fantastic; super friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Filet cooked to perfection with good flavor (could have been seasoned a little more, but still good). Bacon app is a must. Crab cakes really tasty as well. For dessert, the cookies (fried Oreos) and milk were decadent but worth every bite! Only sour point: Ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters and were pretty bad and not shucked properly (lots of grit/dry). Also, when I asked the waiter what the oysters were, he had no idea. If you only serve one kind of oyster, you should know what it is! Lastly, my wife and I sat at the bar for a drink before we sat down to eat dinner. The bartender (female) was absolutely delightful. This is a tough review to write. We had such high expectations for Teresas so I will start with the good. The atmosphere is exceptional which helped lead to our expectations. This restaurant has a beautiful setting and just as attractive interior. Greeted by a smiling happy hostess who sat us at a comfortable table with a great view of the establishment. The waitress was friendly and quick to great us at the table. Our drinks were expertly made and refreshing. After this it began to go down hill. The calamari was cooked to the proper tenderness but where this dish went wrong was drowning it in chili lime sauce. This is an instance where a little would have gone a long way, good flavor, just way too much of it. The most shocking point of the meal came next when my main course arrived. I ordered the rib eye and the twice baked potatoe. ( more accurate would be once baked, once microwaved, and finally ice cold) My wife's rib eye was excellant unfortunately I can't say the same about mine. Same order both med-rare... one great and one tough and flavorless. I wanted to love this place. I really did. As I walked in I thought to myself this place is great, I can't wait to come back and I'm not even eating yet. My advise, throw away your microwaves and cook fresh product. We had our first amazing post-shutdown incredible meal tonight-- thanks to Teresa's Prime. We sat outside at Teresa's Italian for our first meal out a couple of weeks ago--and it was really good. But this was FANTASTIC! We were welcomed back with open arms. We are not "regulars" so no one knew us personally but we go several times a year and feel very comfortable there. They did absolutely everything right. Wine was spot on, appetizer, meal (both of us had steaks), and dessert were perfect. So lovely to have Lynn be attentive to our every whim. We felt human for the first time in a long time. We mattered. The service gave us the peace of mind we have been craving as we sheltered alone for so many months. Since table linens aren't allowed yet, we suggested offering an extra napkin to fold into a triangle to keep plates from sliding. It worked great and hope they offer to other patrons. We give each other dates for holiday and birthday gifts and have accumulated hundreds of dollars in Teresa's gift cards since Christmas. We don't plan to use them until we know they are fully operational again. We paid cash and over tipped as the waitstaff is pooling tips since the bar can't open yet. Beautiful atmosphere and 10 minutes from my house. I asked for a drink with a twist of lemon and the bartender didn't know what I was talking about. Got the Bone in filet mignon it was OK but lot of money for north reading, my wife got a $47 bowl of seafood stew and didn't didn't get a spoon ,,,when she got a spoon it was very tiny ,when she asked for another spoon she got a very large serving spoon, if you going to have a $47 bowl of stew please have the right silverware!!! read more

Went to Teresa's last night with my husband after attending an event here a few days hosted by Phantom Gourmet. The manager and wait staff remembered my husband and myself from the event which was pretty awesome. To start we ordered the Tuna Tartare ($15) which had ahi tuna, avocado, soy scallion vinaigrette and crispy wontons. We also started with a Mai Tai for my husband, and a Strawberry Martini for me. For dinner, I got the 8oz filet with grilled baby artichokes with goat cheese, and Mac and cheese and I believe my husband got the rib eye? With sides of Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts with pancetta. We both highly enjoyed our meals, and our steaks came out medium rare as ordered. My husband also ordered an old fashioned which he thought was a tad sweeter then normal, and a Moscow Mule that he really enjoyed. I also got a Mai Tai as well and it was delicious. The meal started off great! The oysters were perfectly shucked, very meaty, and had a full array of sides; Horse raddish, mignon, lemon, tobasco. The next appetizer was another standout. Meaty crabcakes with a great sauce. It went downhill from here. I ordered a 12oz filet and so did my wife. They weren't the same size. Mine was the 8 oz and her's the 12 oz. Not a big deal considering we were getting full already. The major problem here was how mine was cooked. I ordered medium and it was medium well. Completely well down on the outer portions of the cut. I'm nit picking here I know and the reason is because it's supposed to be a high end steak house. My steak was $40 so you better know I want it cooked exactly the way I ordered it. The other downturn was that the waitress told us that she would take both our steaks back (my wife's was cooked perfectly) and bring us 2 new steaks so we could eat together. We thought this was a nice touch. Except, our waitress brought back a new steak for me and the same steak she originally brought to my wife! It had been sitting under a heat lamp while mine was cooking!! There are positives about this place. They need to get better at cooking the steaks and following through on commitments to customers. read more

Visited this restaurant in the process of trying to find somewhere new to try. I would come back although not in a huge rush. Good: -Crab cake and calamari appetizer were very good. Calamari had a unique tangy/spicy sauce that was delicious -Steaks and fish were cooked perfectly -Nice bar and dining room -Super friendly hostess Not so good: -Were seated for 10minutes before anyone came to great us/take an initial drink order -Cocktail menu was pretty underwhelming. Went back to our "Go to place" ..We went for Valentines day .. As always service was On Point. We arrived early we were directed to a reserved set of seats at the bar... This Was Awesome..we had 1 drink at the bar...hoped for 2 but table was ready early..great job.. Waiter was incredible and the Food was perfection.... I went there twice. My first visit was fantastic; the staff were great. The waitress was fantastic and the chefs knew what they were doing. Based on the first experience, I brought entire gang of my family to treat. What a DISASTER!! The waiter was just horrible and they had some sort of small party and didn't bother too much to pay attention to our table and other dinners! The waiter keep making mistakes but consistently blaming others...bad taste. One time he took wine glasses away when clearly we told him, we are saving them for the dinner. No apology. He insisted the glass was empty!! We had to wait about an hour for the dinner. Food was great. Most of us had steaks and no problems...steaks were fantastic. The service has to improve in this restaurant if they want to compete with other superior mid-high restaurants. If I want to spend $$$ (my bill was about $800 for a party of 7), I surely want better service. I don't know if I want to give them one more chance...it wouldn't be my first choice! read more

This steakhouse is fine dining at its best. The place looks absolutely great. It has a nice bar area and an unparalleled dining area. The menu has a good variety. The prices are a higher since this is fine dining, but you will find the best food here. I ordered the rib eye, and I can honestly say I have never had a rib eye like it. I thought it was approriately priced at 44 dollars given the quality of the meat, the way it was prepared, and the nice area and neighborhood that this place resides. You would pay about the same in Boston. And it was a full 16 oz, that is a full pound, of delicious prime rib. The rib eye had very little fat. There needs to be a little fat for flavor, and there was very little fat to speak of, just the way I like it. The service is great and you can't beat the atmosphere. But really, all of the food deserves credit. The mashed potatoes were not chunky at all and the asparagus was completely fresh. Those sides tasted good. And the bread is probably the hidden gem of this place and easy to forgot about. The bread is probably one of the best attributes to this restaurant. I will definately be back and this restaurant goes to the top of the list for best steakhouses. When considering the restaurant business, Teresa's Prime is the pride of the North Shore. Leaving all personal feelings about how we were treated out of it; here is the review on the service and food. Arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation. Was directed to the bar to get a drink and wait for the table. - No problem definitely understandable and normal. Went to the bar, it took nearly 15 minutes before we were even offered a drink. Had to scream the drinks to the bartender because she could not hear me, when I looked distressed over yelling my order. She told everyone at the bar that I hated her and continued to tell them while she prepped my drink. Which nearly resulted in a physical altercation with a drunk person that she was continuing to serve. The 45 minutes go by and signaled the bartender at least three times for another drink. Did we get one?, nope. The hostess comes over to seat us, we go to the table sit down. My party and I have our fingers crossed for a better experience. We do not trust the bar to do their job, so we order a bottle of chilled wine. They did not have the wine that was listed on the menu, ok this happens so they offer a substitute. Once he served the two of us, (one of the party members wasn't drinking) he set the chilled bottle on the table. No bucket, no ice.... This is a place with individual wine lockers, an extensive wine menu but no chill buckets...hmm Okay, meals are ordered......45 minutes go by and no food yet, but we did get frozen rolls from a server who didn't say a word just dropped them on the edge of the table and kept going. Wine is finished and we still are awaiting our food. Twenty minutes later our food arrives.... No offer of additional drinks.... not even water. Now the food.... this experience did not get any better. 10oz filet mignon - charred not seared on the outside leaving it very dry and unpalatable. Au gratin - Undercooked and obviously cut out of a pan that was previous frozen. Roasted cauliflower- no flavor and burnt. Truffle butter - regular butter with truffle oil, no combination of flavor. Lobster tail - wouldn't peal out of the shell, obviously cooked from frozen. Stuffing - Had a very odd flavor. Ate one bite of everything, and then politely set my silverware down and was done with it. Server walks over and says are you done I expressed yes he took my full plate away and never said a word. When he asked about our return visit that is when I politely said we will never be returning and he got very argumentative. Never ever go here. read more

I forgot to check in but I took my mother here for Mother's Day. Also took the kids. Very sophisticated place with a phenomenal menu. My mother doesn't get out much as she is relegated to a wheelchair and this place made her year. She was so impressed she asked me to get a paper menu she could take back to her assisted living facility so that she could show everyone and brag. :-) That made me happy, to see her so happy. The attendants were so attentive and gracious, even with my two crazy kids. My kids LOVED the french fries. And the dessert buffet - don't get me started. Saturday night is date night, and given that it is the day after Valentine's Day, a special place is in order. So, Teresa's Prime fits the bill. Here it is, in our town, locally owned and managed, and word of mouth said it was really nice. Let's start with service. They nailed everything, from our reservation being honored promptly to the table we were given being comfortable. The best part of the service was Kaitlin, our waitress, who made us at home, and treated us like royalty. Can't get any better guys, trust me, ask for her table if you go there. Food? Anyplace whose last name is "Prime" had best have a good steak, and Tereasa's lived up to the billing. The bone-in rib-eye was amazing... you know that was my order. Dee had the Halibut, which was tasty, but the portion of fish was small. lots of tasty risotto though, but she shared half of it with me, as she likes a lighter carb portion. She reported that the asparagus was amazing... not my fave, but that is me, not Teresa's. The other sides were the fall off point here. The creamed spinach was perfect for someone who wants their vegetables served incognito. The cream and parmesan cheese that it was made with overpowered the spinach... good for me, not quite what Dee was expecting; and if I was looking for more spinach... there could have been more. The mushrooms and caramelized onions was MUSHROOMS, BUTTER and caramelized onions. Would have done better with more onion, if you ask me. The wine list was a bit pricy... okay, because it is a high-end place, but we found a cabernet sauvignon that was very good for a reasonable price. Dessert was the "Chocolate Tower", a towering chocolate fudge layer cake that was exceptional, pared with either her capuccino or my port. Conclusion: Trust me, we will be back for another special occasion, and for the reader, it is worth a try, but have the really good steaks that they have... it is the best option. Word of caution, Dee likes hers medium, so since I was sharing, that is how I ordered it. was closer to medium rare... again, great for me, but know they seem to have undercooked, by just a little. read more

Went to Teresa's function hall luncheon in June 2021. Function room was cramped, needed to add another table but they wouldn't. With the situation of the COVID this was unacceptable. Food was not very good. Buffet style, was not enough for what we paid for. Would not recommend. read more

We are having a small wedding, 6 people, and we thought of Teresa's Prime. It's a beautiful place and great food. They wanted to charge me $2000, then $100 per person and then my bar tab. It's only 6 people and maybe an hour. There is nothing fancy about 5 people and a JP. Horrible horrible. I'm truly disappointed and let down. What a shame read more

Best steakhouse north of Boston bar none! For the same price of a steak at any famous steakhouse, Teresa's also offers you two complimentary sides out of at least 12 choices. Phenomenal! The owner, Nick and Nick Jr. are two of the most professional gentlemen you'll ever meet. The food is outrageous. Try the bacon appetizer, it will melt in your mouth. The antipasto is one of the biggest around. And the deserts are outrageous! Again, Teresa's Prime is our number one choice north of Boston any day. read more

Normally I would rave about our experience. Not tonight. We were seated at a window table and it was cold. Our waiter came over, notified us of the specials and took our order. 15 minutes later the food runner brought the salad and soup. We sat another 40 minutes waiting for our main entrees. Not once did our waiter stop to ask if we wanted drink refills or more bread or more importantly with an update on our dinner. I had to ask a runner to refill my soda not once but twice. We then waited 10 minutes for the check to be processed. Great food with much lower than expected service. I was disappointed Robert wasn't there. Only the second time we have been here, both times for our anniversary. The first time it was 5 star, this time - not so much. It was okay which is fine if it's an inexpensive meal but at $50 a steak, I expect better. Both of our steaks were over cooked. I ordered a side dish of corn with speck. Needed to write a review after my mother couldn't stop saying how impressed she was with dinner. We went for my brother's birthday; the hostess asked if we were there for a special occasion and we told her a birthday. We had great service, the food was amazing, our waitress was incredibly attentive. But before we left, she brought my brother dessert with a candle which almost had my mom in tears as she was so appreciative. Something so small really made the night. It's difficult to rate this experience. My husband and I have loved this place for several years. It was a great find and super local alternative to a steakhouse in the city. I have never been so embarrassed in a restaurant before. On Friday July 9th 2017 were siting at the mostly empty bar and had just ordered. The bartender set the place next to us, and as soon as our food arrived he stooped in front of us asking if we were done. Confusing as we were still chewing. As this went on it was pretty obvious that we were not welcome, my husband put down his fork and his entire setting was immediately cleared. The bartender continued to stand in front of us as I chewed, I had ordered a $52 NY Strip I thought I would have time to finish. The bartender took out a take out container and set it down in front of me. Totally embarrassed I quickly paid the bill and left, leaving an Italian mai tai and full glass of Sauvignon Blanc on the bar. Having eaten at some really exceptional restaurants I am stunned at the entire experience. Am sure I won't go back and am now regretful of having said such great things to others about this place. To sum up- a disaster at a cost of $4.71 per minute (bill was $164.82 inc tip and we spent a total of 35 minutes before being treated so badly). Hopefully others who are considering a wonderful dinner on the North Shore will just be aware that you can be subject to the same experience. There are too many great restaurants to accept this disgraceful level of customer service. When my husband alerted the manager he said that he "would have a word with the bar staff." 2 things I'd like to address: The hostess' attitude on the phone and the reservation policy. Admittedly, I called the day of New Years Eve, not expecting to get a table of course, but rather trying to gauge availability of seating at the bar when the doors open. I was very surprised and taken aback by the hostess' canned response "First come first served Happy New Year". I literally had to yell to her to have her not hang up on me, and luckily I had her stop and listen and I inquired availability for seating as well, & once again "First come first served Happy New Year" and she hung up. OK...she was busy, but no need to be rude. THEN...upon arrival when the doors opened, we were told "No room because all of the tables in the bar were reserved." So, what was going on???? Reservations taken or FCFS??? Owners should prepare hosts/hostesses for the onslaught of last minute calls and train them on patience and diplomacy so they don't lose customers like me, who used to spend quite a bit of my income at your restaurant but will seek alternatives in the future. read more
