Walking in The Fox Den, felt just like that, a place you feel safe, cozy, and a part of the skulk (pack of foxes to save you a google search). A cute bar across where you enter in and open seating in the rest of the space. Greeted by the waitress who also cheffed up my delectable, cheeky pints right from the draft spigots. Such a nice host who made me feel welcomed and recommended some great choices. I went with the special of the day, the pickle brined chicken sandwich with a side of chips and their charred scallion dip. The chicken was crispy & crunchy on the outside with succulent, juicy chicken thigh on the inside. That pickle brine worked wonders. The chips are homemade and exactly what you want from a crisp and that charred scallion dip was so addicting I was scooping the rest with a fork when I ran out of chips (would have licked it out if no fork). Vibes great, beers cold, food absolutely divine. I will surely be back to try more menu items (the pierogies looked money from another patron's plate) and to delete more beers. read more

Our server was great, bringing my daughter toys to keep her busy while the food comes out. Now let's get down to the food.. El Franco: this burger was super good and the chicken was juicy. It consists of chicken parm, and mozzarella cheese. It was a great burger and I highly suggest this burger. Smoked Chicken Wings: these wings are some of the best I've had! My whole family loved them which is super rare, so I know it's legit lol. Be sure to get these as an appetizer before your main dish, you won't be disappointed. Chourico Cubano: I really enjoy their take on a Cubano sandwich. It had pulled pork, ham, pickles, mustard of course and some cheese. It was very light and good. The flavors went well together and it was a great sandwich. Malasadas: we can hear specifically for these as I'm from Hawaii and wanted to try their take on this fried donuts. They didn't disappoint and my daughter love it. The bourbon caramel house was outta this world. I could have ate 3 more sides of that sauce lol. Highly recommend this as a dessert. The toast was mushy, the balsamic overwhelmed, and what little octopus there was I simply could not taste. - Cacoila Dinner, $26 (3*) The pork was slow roasted beautifully. Soft and tender. But it was under-seasoned. It needed more salt. - Value (3*) The octopus toast is pretty expensive considering what it was. The pork was pretty generous for the price. Wish I hadn't had the octopus, or this could have been a 4* value. - Final Word I'm not sure what to think about this place. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things. Love all the fox decor! My boyfriend and I decided to try this super cute restaurant for dinner on Sunday night. The restaurant has a nice big bar and plenty of seating for groups and families. Thr nice waitress quickly sat us down wherever we wanted since there was plenty of seating to choose from. They have a nice beer and cocktail menu along with a mix of Portuguese and polish dishes. I wanted to try something new and went with their potabella mushroom grilled cheese which sounded good with a side of fries. My bf got their pirogues which they had a few different ones to choose from with a side of sauerkraut. Both dishes came out nice and hot and packed with flavor. My grilled cheese was full of meaty delicious cheese and the mushroom tasted perfect. My bf shared a bit of his pirogue and it was very good. We decided on getting dessert because everything looked so tasty. I got a slice of cheesecake and my bf got their malasadas. The cheesecake was super creamy and I really like the chocolate ganache they brought out which I got to pour on myself. The malasadas were hot and yummy also! Saw some amazing reviews for this location so decided to pop in on a Friday night. Unfortunately we were not overly impressed. We got a few items for the table to share between us so we could try as much as possible that night. We found the cheeseburger pierogi to be very bland and did not seem to have to flavorings we were expecting. We also ordered the Devil on Horseback which were goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. My friend liked this very much but they just didn't do it for me. I would have like a better balance between the cheese and date. Both of our sandwiches were what we did enjoy most. I had the Sloppy Karen which did not disappoint in the sloppy name. Over all the food was mediocre. One thing I would suggest is to use a plate warmer to serve your hot items. All of our food came on ice cold plates which caused our food to cool off quickly. All sooo delicious - we ended up eating the classic number 1, 2 was the mushroom, 3 was cheeseburger and 4 was buffalo chicken but truly if we got a plate of only one of those options I would of been extremely happy. Got that neighborhood spot vibe but they're not messing around with the food. Our server comes over and I ask her what's good. She goes, "Honestly? I can't pick just one." That's when I knew we hit the jackpot. I get the pierogies, these aren't your grandmother's pierogies, these have some kind of magic in them I got the mixed platter...Tommy gets something called the Polish Big Mack and I'm telling you, the guy was genuinely impressed. Had a late lunch midweek and had no trouble being seated. Municipal parking directly across made it easy. The menu is quite interesting in what I would call Portuguese-Polish fusion. For the two of us we had a Cuban sandwich with chorizo, nicely toasted with sauerkraut which was intentionally cold. At home we have it hot so that was a surprise. Well, pickles are cold anyway. Also a pierogi plate with 3 types and sour cream. All had potato in the filling. Creamy coleslaw was nice. Our server, Kristy, was fun to chat with. We went last Friday before a movie and I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. It was very cozy. My husband and I split two pierogis: the classic and chicken bacon ranch. They were way bigger than we thought, and both very delicious. I got the Mac and cheese with crispy chicken. The flavor of the Mac was delicious; lots of yummy cheeses. I did a date night here with my husband because I hadn't had pierogis in years and wanted some. (He himself never tried them before)! Polish food doesn't seem to be widely available and I was definitely looking forward to our meal. My husband got a beer, and when it came, there was a big hair curled up right near the lip of the glass. The glass was otherwise clean but he felt like it was a little icky so we got him a new one. We ordered the soup special (potato leek), two pierogi dinners (each comes with one side), and we got one kielbasa link. Our soup arrived as our appetizer and the soup spoon delivered with it was dirty- it hadn't even gone through a dishwasher. The waitress (same woman who delivered the beer) was very apologetic, and fortunately the spoon had been handed to my husband and wasn't on the plate that came with the soup and bread, so we didn't have to send that back. The soup was good... it had a little bit of a tang to it, and we enjoyed it. The main course came with silverware wrapped in napkins and was all clean which was a relief- and the food looked great. My fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. The pierogis however... so flavorless. I got two of the lil' Portugal and one original. The original was pretty tasty- especially compared to the lil' Portugal, which tasted like nothing. The one link of kielbasa was fine- I mean, kielbasa is kielbasa... nothing ever changes there. The dècor inside is so cute and had a great vibe... again, I was so disappointed that the food was r better and that things weren't clean. It's not worth the trip back for us, sadly. read more

She immediately said they were out of: Kale soup Kale salad Chicken wings All pizzas (no dough) At the end of the meal they said they also do not have the donut dessert (I guess that should have been obvious to me with no dough). Went to the Fox Den on a Saturday night with my whole family (reservation for nine) and the experience could not have been better. We enjoyed drinks from a very well constructed beer list, and a variety of tasty appetizers. We had smoked wings, bacon wrapped dates and the Angel Eggs, with all three being a hit. On to the main courses, I opted for the Polska Panini, which was perfectly done, gooey without overdoing it and enough kielbasa to give it the right kick. My side was the Roasted Beets, and even though they are delicately seasoned, they may have been my favorite thing. Other things people at the table got that I was jealous of included pierogis and mac and cheese with linguica.
