Had never been, have driven by my entire life & never thought to check it out until I saw "Sir, what did you eat" Post on IG and so we decided to check it out for the Hubbys Birthday dinner (we were going to go to Capital Grille, but in Feb this year 2026, it was snowing that night so we came here instead, closer to home) OMG SO GLAD WE DID!!!! First off, the moment we walked in the door the whole vibe was spot on. It was actually snowing when we got there! Our server kicked ass and I wish I remembered his name because I only want to dine with him moving forward! He truly made the experience!!! All the food was good, Only missing Calamari from the menu - only downside... We stumbled here on accident. We are out of towners, on vacation, looking for something that wasn't seafood. Pellana's did not disappoint. Our waiter, John, seriously was the best waiter we have had in a long time. His service coupled with the beyond fabulous food made the experience that much better. Outstanding. This was a birthday dinner for my significant other. Amazing atmosphere with the dimly lit lights over the whole dining area and focused light at the table so you don't feel like you're in a cave. Privacy right in the middle of an open floor. Simple NY strip with blue cheese was delectable. Top 5 steaks I can say with confidence. The baked lobster special was enormous and deliciously filled with king crab stuffing. Service was immaculate. Never had an empty glass or searching for service, but certainly gave us privacy for our dinner. Drinks were strong and made right, even brought a glass for my sip o sunshine. We went to Pellana last evening the 12th like we have many many many times in the past. Food was great. We ate at the and Nick the bartender and staff were quite attentive. What I was shocked at was the behavior of the host. Upon entering the restaurant was busy. There were three hosts working. A young man, a woman and an older bald headed gentleman with a thick accent. My said she would like a table for two and we did not have a reservation because it was a last minute idea. He was abrupt rude and abrasive towards my wife. Telling us to stand over by the coat rack. He did not even have the courtesy to let us know what the status or wait time may be. He departed and did not come back. So we waited quietly and patiently. We noticed the entire bar was open. Finally after 10 or 15 theMUCH kinder woman asked if we were being helped and offered the bar to us as an option. Which was great. The bald man just kept yelling my wife "I am very busy. I've never had a bad experience here and last night was no exception. By far the best onion soup around, and the ahi tuna was incredible, but what really blew both my husband and I away on this visit was the 8oz wagyu that practically melted in your mouth like butter. Worth every penny. We were originally a party of four, but two could not make it at the last minute due to an emergency and the hostess was not only gracious but wanted to make sure everybody was ok. We were seated at a table in the bar, which we'd never sat in before, and it was nice. It is dark but softly lit, perfect for celebrating our 19th anniversary. The staff was, as always, outstanding. Wow! Pellana is a really special place in the Danvers/Peabody area. We are big fans of Daniella's in Danvers and knew we had to try Pellana (owned by the same restaurant group) so when a special occasion came up we finally made a reservation. We had such an amazing time - this is a 5-star spot for sure! The food was incredible - nothing more to say. They have a very impressive wine list as well. I am a vegetarian, so I was planning to order a bunch of sides for dinner but our server went out of her way to tell me the kitchen would be happy to make me a special vegetarian pasta (so so unexpected and so kind!). BEWARE of food safety concerns and disappointing service. Partway through our meal, we found a huge, sharp shard of plastic in our food - something that could have easily caused serious harm. What made things worse was how poorly the situation was handled by the server Jim. He had zero sense of urgency or genuine concern. His response was dismissive and unprofessional. Simply the best. We come here about once a year for a special occasion and wish we could afford to go more frequently. Even for lunch, we ended up paying nearly $400 for 2 adults and 2 kids who have very expensive taste and order filet mignons for lunch. However, these are memories with our family that will last a lifetime and it's well worth the cost of admission. The staff is always wonderful, welcoming of the kids even in an environment where it's unusual to see them, and always accomodating. Croque madame was fantastic as a brunch option but you won't be sorry if you splurge on a steak. This will always be our go-to steakhouse. read more

We went for an after dinner wedding party, so we knew it would be pricey since it says it high end. If you don't mind the spending, it will be a nice meal and good vibes. The salad was amazing. Yes you can go wrong on a salad haha but this one was great. Also ordered the short rib Cavatelli. It was really tender and good, though I wasn't big on the mushroomy flavor sauce. We were so excited nearly 20 years ago when Pellana opened--finally an outstanding steakhouse close to home without having to drive into Boston. Whether for brunch, lunch, or dinner, the menu never gets tired, and one of the things we love most is how they rotate their specials--and they are truly SPECIAL! Late Saturday afternoon, my son and I stopped in and took a chance on the bar waitlist. We called ahead and were thrilled to find only one couple in front of us. Eden was wonderful from the first call through my several check-ins, and we were seated within 20 minutes. Everything we ordered was excellent, but the highlight was the one of the specials, a 2-pound baked stuffed lobster with crab meat--hands down the best stuffed lobster I've ever had out. The stuffing was plentiful yet light, perfectly balanced, and not overly rich. We also shared a wedge salad, lobster bisque, bone-in ribeye, potatoes au gratin, and spinach with mushrooms--every dish was spot on. What truly sets Pellana apart is the service. Eden remembered me when I called back later, even during a busy service, and Nick stopped by to welcome my son back from a recent visit. The service and atmosphere was what you'd expect from a high end restaurant. Unfortunately I could have purchased a better sirloin at Stop & Shop. About 1/3 of it was gristle and fat. I spent the majority of my time cutting it out. The sides and appetizers were good and the chef did a good job cooking it to order. When I explained my dissatisfaction with the steak to the waitress she said I should have sent it back. So my option was to sit there and watch the rest of my party eat while they cooked another steak or keep cutting. I was never offered anything to compensate for my poor meal. When paying just south of a thousand for six people, I would expect better. read more

my fiancé and I went to Pellana last night for an early Valentines Day Dinner. The service and food tasted great. however I ordered a Pork Chop and they asked how I wanted it cooked. I said whatever way it normally is and the waiter said medium. when I got my Pork Chop some parts were pink but I thought that's what medium was. Until I woke up at 5am with food poisioning. Why do people think by adding lobster to anything it becomes special. Lobster mashed potatoes. Gross. I had clam chowder which had no clams, too much bacon and strange spices. It tasted like potato bacon soup. I had a wedge salad which was covered in bacon and tasteless blue cheese. My wife likes filet mignon Oscar but for $90 for a 10 ounce filet serious overpriced. Best steakhouse on the north shore, absolutely no question. Even better than almost anything in Boston. It's not inexpensive (plan on $150/person if you like apps but are a light drinker) but outstanding quality. I have been several times and have never had an issue with the food. I guess my only criticism is that it's not the most exciting menu, but it's an old school, classic steak house experience and you won't be disappointed. They DO have specials that you won't find on the menu. Like filet carpaccio or octopus apps, tomahawk ribeye for 2 entree, etc. Just FYI since the price won't be listed, you could drop $40/ea on apps specials (carpaccio is worth every penny). Also the surf and turf special is just a full price steak and full price seafood entree... not an error in the bill... but also worth it! Excellent service Excellent wine Almost every table in there had a candle brought with their dessert so they were celebrating something. It tasted like canned soup overloaded with soft, mushy bread and too much cheese that wasn't very good. At 71 bucks, I wasn't going to leave any of the steak but think this place needs some kitchen education. Great decor, amazingly attentive server (at the bar) and a relatively short wait for a busy Saturday night. Up until the steak was in front of me, I was totally impressed. Here are my comments on the food: Steak - I ordered a 22 oz prime rib eye. I love this cut because rending the embedded fat yields a flavor and buttery texture not found in other cuts. To become prime, the meat needs to have near perfect marbling. If one wishes to properly cook, it should be given time to render some of the fat. I ordered it medium rare (any more should be a crime but that's another story). The bone was completely burnt showing that my 71 (did I mention it was expensive) dollar cut of meat was abused by extended direct flame. Flame broiled is great for BK but not for high end steak houses. Very disappointing and surprised someone would put that on a plate (see the picture). Fries - Truffle Parmesan Fries were the Sysco stuff with some infused oil and finely shredded parm tossed on. If you plan on charging these types of prices, a hand cut version can be done in little time (even in and out does it). I may be wrong here but it seemed great opportunity to improve. read more

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner on Wed, Dec 23. I made a reservation online and added that there was a birthday at the table. When I arrived (on time for my 6:45 pm reservation), I found out that my friend had arrived 15 minutes early. Luckily, they didn't hold that against our 90 minute dining time. From the outset, service was polite and attentive without hovering. We had a couple of drinks during the meal. I started with the Pineapple Infusion (basically a Stoli Doli). It was a bit too pineappley for my taste as they added pineapple juice. I'm used to the version where the pineapple is infused in the vodka and poured straight (as I make it at home). The added pineapple juice made it a bit less boozy and more sweet. It was still good. My 2nd dinner drink was a French 75. My final drink was for "dessert" and I got an irish coffee that came out perfectly. For appetizers we started with raw oysters (nice and briny) and the tuna tartare that came with homemade potato chips. Both were fresh and delicious. Both of our entree steaks were cooked at a perfect medium rare. I got the filet mignon and he got the prime ribeye. The fat content of the ribeye was divine. He got the peppercorn and mushroom sauce option for his steak and enjoyed it. It was a bit too peppery for me, but I didn't order it, so it doesn't matter! Ha! The mashed potatoes were good, but the brussels sprouts lacked flavor. We ordered the creme brulee dessert was quite good and I usually don't like creme brulee. It had a light coffee flavor to it. They even added a Happy Birthday chocolate and a candle for the birthday boy! All in all, it was a very nice dinner. We didn't feel rushed despite the table time limit, so we really got to enjoy our meal. I would 100% return! read more

A decent steak house, tucked into a side street in Danvers near the Liberty Tree Mall. Lovely decor, nicely appointed with that "Dark Mahogany Flair". A gas fireplace is nice to look at in the evening. Decent bar drinks. Priced about the same as Davio's and Capital Grille on all steaks and sides. They are family owned and have two other restaurants. You'll get what you pay for... nothing fabulous. Expect to drop $175-$200 for dinner for two and a couple of drinks each. read more

It took 8 years, but we finally made it back to Pellana! First went here in 2016 when our son graduated from Endicott College. Went again 9/1 for brunch after his wedding in Danvers. Roberto was our waiter, and he was very friendly and attentive. Our party of 4 all had amazing food, and they dressed up the creme brûlée with a congratulatory chocolate card for the new bride. I had a crab cake appetizer, and the scallops over lobster risotto. Both were phenomenal. Everyone else had steak, and raved about them. If you are looking for one of the BEST steakhouse experiences you have ever had then plan a trip to Pellana's. Seriously! From the moment we stepped inside for our reservation of 4, the experience was everything you could ask for and more. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Salem and wanted to treat us to a wonderful Father's Day meal. To say the least, it was wonderful. Teddie, our waiter, was fantastic. Very engaging and knowledgeable! Our daughter and son-in-law travel the world and KNOW their wines and recently found a very rare red wine from Lebanon and Pellana actually has it. Teddie was able to track down a second bottle (last one!) for us too. The meals were prepared and served to perfection. The lobster mashed potatoes were a wonderful surprise too!
