To celebrate a great nephew's 2026 Harvard graduation, we brought a party of 11 to celebrate at Ithaki. We knew that they were very good at handling large groups, and we were treated once again to excellent and attentive service by our server, Gabi, and the hostess, Mariana. We arrived at 6:00 PM and were given the time to linger, closing the restaurant at about 9:15. The entire evening was leisurely and allowed for conversation between courses, including a nice break for coffee and dessert. We enjoyed and shared a variety of the small plates (which are not at all small, in reality): Mussels, Calamari, Falafel a la Petros, Greek Fries, Greek Salad (Horiatiki), Cauliflower, Mushrooms, Baked Feta, and Taramosalata. Our party chose beers and also shared the Decoy Cabernet and the La Crema Chardonnay. The main courses were all very pleasing, and managed to satisfy the vegetarians and those who need to avoid gluten. Among us, with some sharing, we had the lamb shank, the mushroom pappardelle, the Moroccan crusted tuna, the blackened salmon, the gnocchi & burrata, the baked eggplant, and the roasted chicken. The service was excellent. Gabi was careful to allow everyone to finish each course before removing any plates, which really encouraged sharing and made us feel like family guests. One of my pet peeves at restaurants is when servers begin to clear plates and cutlery while others are still eating. We had eaten so well that we shared just 3 desserts with our espressos and Greek coffees: Molten Chocolate Cake, Galactobouriko, and Ekmek. We lingered over desserts and had great conversation, since we had guests from England and western Massachusetts and we really needed time to chat. Ithaki is one of my favorite restaurants on the north shore. It's right off route 1 and the restaurant is a lot bigger than what you'd expect. It's beautifully decorated on the inside. We're always welcomed with such a friendly staff when we come here. The food has always been great. Their bread and garlic sauce is delicious. My favorite dish is the clam pasta. Celebrating New Year's Eve at Ithaki Mediterranean Restaurant was nothing short of a five-star dining experience. We had an 8:00 PM reservation, and despite the restaurant being lively with couples and families ringing in the new year, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance--festive and energetic, yet still comfortable enough to hold a conversation. From start to finish, the service was truly top tier. Even on such a busy holiday night, the pacing never felt rushed. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert flowed seamlessly, allowing us to relax and enjoy each course at just the right rhythm. The staff was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming, making it clear that choosing to dine with them was appreciated. A special touch that stood out was the hostess making rounds throughout the dining room, personally checking in with guests to ensure everything tasted great and that no one needed a thing--an attention to detail that elevated the entire experience. We started with the Octopus Carpaccio (GF), served with jalapeño and sweet peppers, pickled onion pearls, lemon zest, olive oil, and fried capers. The octopus was cooked perfectly--tender, delicate, and never rubbery. It was lightly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors and freshness of the seafood to shine, while the bright acidity and subtle heat enhanced every bite without overpowering it. The presentation was elegant and restrained--just enough to showcase the dish before diving in. For entrées, we enjoyed the Rack of Lamb (GF) accompanied by potatoes, eggplant, and zucchini ratatouille-style. The lamb was cooked flawlessly--juicy, tender, and incredibly flavorful without being over-seasoned. Ithaki clearly trusts the quality of their ingredients, letting the natural juices and richness of the meat speak for themselves. Each bite was balanced and comforting, with vegetables that complemented rather than competed with the star of the plate. The Wagyu was equally impressive, served with whipped potatoes, asparagus, wild mushrooms, and a silky demi-glace. The meat was cooked to perfection--rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Again, restraint was key here: no heavy seasoning, just thoughtful execution that allowed the natural depth of the Wagyu to truly light up the taste buds. The presentation was refined but not overdone, highlighting the food itself rather than distracting from it. What truly sets Ithaki apart is the value behind the menu. For the price point, you are getting exceptionally high-quality, fresh ingredients prepared by someone who clearly understands and respects Greek cuisine. Every dish reflects experience, intention, and authenticity--food cooked by a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Overall, Ithaki delivered an exceptional New Year's Eve dining experience--from the atmosphere and service to the impeccable execution of every dish. My wife and I were driving back from the Cape and passed a bunch of breakfast places on the way as we couldn't make our minds up. Long story short we stopped at Ithaki in Peabody. We were greeted very kindly and sat right away. It was not super busy and a very eclectic crowd. The server came right away and we placed our order. Nothing fancy eggs, omelet and pancakes. The food had an interesting taste must have been the oil, butter or whatever everything was cooked in. The pancakes were rubbery and again odd taste. Overall, food was a 3, service was a 4 and the ambiance was a 3. Too many great breakfast places on the cape and in between so will probably not go back. Also it was fairly expensive for breakfast for two around $70. read more

Interesting spot! We're from out of town and have enjoyed a handful of restaurants in Saugus. We tend to stop here when flying in and out of Boston. We tried Ithaki without doing much research, and to our surprise it ended up being a bit fancier than we expected (the other places we've tried nearby are definitely more casual). The staff was warm, accommodating, and kind. They didn't have any availability (which actually surprised us) but offered seats at the bar for dinner. The bar ended up being a great experience, and we didn't feel out of place at all. The food itself was really good. My husband ordered the moussaka, one of his favorite Greek dishes, and he kept saying it was the best he's had in New England. My chicken dish was tasty and absolutely massive; I took half home. It came with these delicious carrots, though the sauce was a bit on the greasier side. We also split a halloumi salad that was good, but not the best salad I've ever had by any means. We'd definitely return, especially now that we know it's a solid date-night spot. The food was great and fairly priced, the staff was nice, and overall we really enjoyed our meal. read more

A lovely, busy Greek restaurant. I started my meal with a nice expresso martini; my friend enjoyed the Persephone. I needed a light meal, so I chose the egg lemon soup and mussels. The waiter was right, there was enough for two. My friend had the cod. My only disappointments were the afterdinner masticha drink - a very light and aromatic drink. I met some friends here so we could try something different. The colors inside were gorgeous. Even the water glasses were a bright blue that were stunning. Something small like a glass can easily be overlooked, or it can add a layer of color. For starters we tried the octopus and cauliflower to start and the bartender made us spicy margaritas, which weren't on the menu but created as a take on one of their mocktails. For dinner I had the short rib pappardelle which was very good. There was a large piece of the short ribs on a bed of pappardelle pasta. Ithaki Mediterranean Restaurant is a fabulous place to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine. We dined there last night with another couple and felt right at home. Chris was our server and allowed us to relax and enjoy each other's company while having drinks with our flaming saganaki and stuffed grape leaves. Dinner entrees included gnocchi with scallops in cream sauce, lobster and crab ravioli, lamb kebab and lamb shank with seasoned rice. Everything was delicious! The ambiance was great. The food and service were delicious. However, when we received our bill, we learned that there is a 4% surcharge for paying by credit card. (Apparently the prices listed on the menu are the cash prices, although this is not indicated on the menu). This seems like a very deceptive practice. It would feel far better if they listed the credit catd price, then offered a 4% discount for cash payment. That way you know up front what your bill will be. read more

I'm slowly working my way through the breakfast menu here, which is difficult bc they have so many great options. Shakshuka was extremely good, came with 3 eggs in a small cast iron skillet. I added chorizo for $4. This is a very shareable meal. Without the chorizo, this meal is vegetarian, it is also low carb (even lower carb if you skip the toast), and high protein. I love any place that has healthy and unhealthy options. And as always, service was superb. The waitstaff knows their regulars but are also great with new guests. For the image they try to "sell" this is a big, plain space. Decoration has to improve drastically. The appetizers were average. The pork chops were seriously overcooked, hard to cut through, and tasteless. One of us had salmon and that same evening she felt sick. The service was average. During the 35+ years I have been in Massachusetts, I never had to pay a fee if I did not pay for a meal with cash; we were asked to do so at Ithaki. The strange thing is that since we paid with two credit cards, one was charged the full fee and the other one was not charged any fee. The bill claims we get a 4% discount if we pay the posted menu price with cash but we are charged extra if we do not pay with cash. I do not really understand what is the 4% discount I get if I pay the full posted menu price with cash. Further, I do not think it is legal to charge extra when customers pay with a credit card in MAssachusetts. if the restaurant wants to have such a policy should find a way to inform the customer prior to taking their order. I do not recommend Ithaki and personally I am not going back to this restaurant. read more

We came here on a Friday night and everything was so good! If you'd like a booth, you may want to make a reservation but otherwise, we were seated right away. Jenny is a 5 star server, super attentive and went above and beyond our entire visit. I really appreciate her hospitality. We started with the souvlaki, the scallops and the octopus. The souvlaki is tender and flavorful. The scallops with the mushrooms, asparagus, whipped potatoes and cranberry were some of the best I've ever tried, and I would absolutely get the meal next time. The octopus was cooked to perfection and the fava with the garlic aioli + arugula is delicious. Their Broken Rake drink was amazing, as well as the desserts. Horrible experience at this restaurant. Staff was incredibly rude and mocked my husband within sight for raising his hand for another drink in an empty restaurant. Our waitress seemed irritated at every interaction. Staff overall was just blatantly arrogant and rude upon arrival. I would recommend McDonalds over this place to anyone looking for a decent meal and service. Food was okay, but I've had better authentic Greek at a mom and pop deli for a fraction of the price. We came here on Father's Day to celebrate the wonderful hubs. We were a bit early for our reservation, but they gladly sat us. The place is very large and open but elegantly designed and laid out. It would be very fitting for a large group gathering. We also noticed they had a function room tucked back behind the bathrooms. Ana was our server for the evening and did an exemplary job. She was always around when we needed her, made wine recommendations, and even gave me a tasting or two. Her smile was contagious! For starters, they offered complimentary bread and a tomato dip consisting of tomato, feta, garlic, and olive oil. The bread was soft, chewy, and warm. The dip was cold and refreshing, with a nice bite to it! Cocktails soon arrived. Hubs had their version of a mojito, which he thought was super yummy and refreshing. I opted for the hot and dirty, and it delivered! The appetizers were the layered hummus--divine! It hit all the taste notes and had lots of different textures! Keftedes were lamb and pork fritters with a nice tzatziki sauce. For dinner, I chose the blackened salmon over rice pilaf and a carrot ginger puree. This was a flavor bomb in my mouth--so delicious. Hubs had the lamb skewers with potato puffs. He noted that it was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. He loved the char on the vegetables, too. Who can pass up dessert when you are celebrating? Hubs chose the limoncello cake, which he absolutely loved! It was a bit too sweet for me, but that is okay! In chatting with a neighboring table, they loved their meal as well and wanted me to snap a pic of their dessert, lava cake, which was thoroughly enjoyed! I ended the night with Espresso Martinis, and oh my my! So yummy and my goodness those glasses! So cute! We will be back. Over the top Greek restaurant connected to a hotel is a bit surprising in a pleasant way. Access to parking from the highway is a bit tricky. Each dish was a work of art and tasty as well. Good place to stop if leaving Boston for more northern destinations. It's on the east side of the highway so if you are traveling south, no way to get to it. read more

My friends have been raving about this place since they had recently relocated from Ipswich. I always appreciate private parking spaces for the convenience. The hostess quickly sat us as it was half full by the time we arrived around 6 pm on a Tuesday night but by the time we left it was almost entirely full. For an appetizer we shared the beet salad along with the complementary bread and dip. We asked what the dip was made of which is the same ingredients for a Greek salad so cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, and olives. The salad was incredibly refreshing and crisp. I would come again just for the salad. For entrees, my friends got Baked eggplant and Spicy crab and lobster spaghetti while I got the Pan seared duck. The eggplant had a well toasted layer of mashed potato-like topping and was delicious. We asked for extra spicy spaghetti and they definitely delivered on that front. The duck was beautifully cooked but the portion was a little disappointing as it was a single breast. The reduction over the carrots and purée was phenomenal. Dessert consisted of Limoncello cake and Galactonouriko. Although I am not a fan of citrus desserts, I did enjoy the texture of the cake and custard. I loved, loved the Galactonouriko as it was a cross between baklava and a custard. It was a unique warm and creamy dessert. Overall, we had a wonderful and I can't wait to go again. Our waiter was patient and kind. Our cups of water never went below half as there was always someone to refill it. My dad and I recently returned to Ithaki, along with my stepmom. Happy to report our meal was just as good as it had been all those years ago and that my stepmom loved it too. It can be hard for all us to agree on cuisine, but southern European usually works, so this Greek restaurant was perfect. I highly recommend a reservation--we were lucky to get same-week reservations on a Saturday night. The vibrant atmosphere and nice decor really added to the experience. We ordered the fried calamari, paella, lamb hummus, saganaki, and pistachio baklava. I had the Persephone cocktail, which was refreshing, and my father's Greek white wine was great. We loved everything and it was hard to choose a favorite. I think my standouts were probably the lamb hummus and the pistachio baklava. The hummus was creamy and the lamb delicious. The baklava was the perfect sweet note to end our meal. The hostess was extremely friendly and welcoming. The only issue I have is with our service. Our server was quite busy and I don't fault her, but we felt deliberately overlooked, as she would pass our table several times without even looking at us, let alone checking in, though when she did, she was friendly. But sometimes you just know when you are being ignored. I'd still go back, but hopefully would have a better service experience. Ithaki, welcome to Mark's hall of fame! One of the places whose virtues I will extol to anyone who asks me for a recommendation. Other than a few minor notes, the food and the entire experience were sensational! The good thing about going with family is you can try more food! I had the distinct pleasure of trying: - Tuna Crudo - Lavraki Tartare - Taramosalata (spread) - Tzatziki (spread) - Tirokafteri (spread) - Moroccan Crusted Tuna - Greek Coffee - Galactobouriko Overall, EVERYTHING was fresh and tasty, with the flavors being more subtle and nuanced than bold, brash, in-your-face, and it works! The Tuna Crudo and Lavraki Tartare were great! The fish was very fresh and dressed/garnished beautifully! Regarding the Crudo: The gentle acidity of the citrus juice, the briny 'bite' of the capers, the creaminess of the avocado, and the oil to bring everything together made the tuna shine. The Tartare was like the Crudo's fraternal twin. Similar but very much its own dish. The lemon juice helped add a little acid and take away any fishiness. The pickled onions added some crisp tanginess, and the chimichurri some freshness and earthiness. The three spreads were great! These felt like they were made to order, too! The tzatziki, for instance, was not watery (as happens when it sits for a while). Taramasalata was savory without being fishy, the tzatziki was delightfully garlicky, and the Tirokafteri had a nice kick from the jalapeños. The only note here is I found the Tirokafteri a touch salty for my taste. House-made pita chips were terrific, also! The Moroccan Crusted Tuna was divine. The tuna had a tasty, not overdone, and not over-seasoned crust and perfectly transitioned into the raw fish inside. The spicy hummus was creamy and had an enjoyable kick. The chimichurri and couscous combination was a match made in heaven. The starch of the couscous with the earthy, savory, lightly acidic notes of the chimichurri went together like bread and butter! The piece of chicken I had the opportunity to taste was incredibly tender and tasty. For this being from the chicken breast, this is really something! The only note is that the chicken was just a pinch over-salted for my palate. For dessert, I had Greek coffee and Galactobouriko. Galactobouriko was terrific! It was thin, flaky, filo dough filled with a delectable and not over-sweet custard. Terrifically balanced all around. Greek coffee (similar to Turkish coffee) was a unique delight also! It was bold and somewhat intense, not acidic, and had that texture characteristic of unfiltered coffee ground very fine. The amount of sugar/possible spice was also perfect. What makes Ithaki so memorable isn't just the food; it's the service and vibe/ambiance. Our server, Adrienne, was phenomenal. She was kind, professional, and attentive. The rest of the service staff was similarly professional and attentive. For example, some of the coffee spilled (not due to the server's fault - trickiness with the cezve). Our cups were wiped, saucers replaced, and spill covered with a napkin. Little things, but life is made of little things. As for the vibe/ambiance, it is open, light, and inviting. The tables are spaced appropriately, so you are not bumping elbows or yelling over a table next to you. The music quietly playing can be heard but does not interfere with conversations. Everything was also immaculate. This brings me to my final 'note' - walking in, there is a faint smell of bleach/chlorine. However, I appreciate that they may have just started dinner service, and a distant scent of bleach indicates cleanliness, even though it's not the most pleasant. Before, when people asked me about my favorite restaurants in/around Boston, I would give them a list of four. Now when people ask me, I will provide them with five. The patron next to me asked 'what does it take to get a drink around here' and I said oh the bar tender is over there here she comes... as she came over she immediately said ' what are you talking about with 'here she comes' immediately started yelling at me and continued as I waited 20 minutes asked for a glass of wine two times and never was served. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Save Your Money and get real Greek food from KUZINA and pay half of what they charge for mediocre Middle Eastern / Greek whatever their Kitchen Signature mixed up is !!!!!! When they first opened, the place was always empty, and we used to go there with different groups of people because they all loved Mediterranean Food. We would go for Holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter every year plus at least once a month with a party of 6 or 8 every single time. The Owner would answer "Yes of course " or "Any time" and would never ask for us to give our Credit Card so it would be on Hold in case we cancel the reservation. When I called to make a Reservation for this Sunday they asked for my Credit card and I asked what is the reason. And the answer was if you cancel and you don't show up we have to charge you a certain amount to protect the business. I told the owner I am your Customer and you never asked us before and very Arrogantly answered that that's how we RUN the business now. I told him that when your Restaurant was empty and we would make a reservation you would not ask for our Credit Card. His response was never slow and I am the best and I don't need you as a customer. The Manager and the owner were both arrogant and yelling especially the owner bragging how good his business was and he did not need to answer why he wanted the credit card when we wanted to make the reservation. I explained to all my company and their families why we were not going there and all agreed that it's a horrible experience and no wonder the place is empty most nights. read more

Went to Ithaki restaurant for the first time last night with a group of six. The restaurant was very nice the service from Demitri was out standing. I had a full body Greek wine that was very good and the meal was outstanding. Everyone loved it. The lamb was good to perfection and the Musaka was delicious. We had coffe and dessert after and it was very enjoyable evening I would recommmend that restaurant and I gave it five stars. read more

Do not judge this place because it is attached to a Holiday Inn or on Route 1. When you walk in, it's a different world from the parking lot. Lovely, airy, bright, with gorgeous floral arrangements I'm told are done by the owner/chef. Also delicious food, generous portions! Popped in for Valentines with a reservation and was seated after a brief wait at a tiny table. The parking lot was full and i parked at an apartment complex in the back or something. The valentines menu was mainly seafood. I started with 3 spreads 21$ and pita and the Tzaziki was good while the hummus and jalapeno spread seemed bland. The 19$ greek salad was served in a different vessel than the 16$ greek salad but im not quite sure there is a difference aside from a piece of feta? My large greek salad was meh, while the veggies were good the dressing or oil or whatever was bland. Ha. Im used to american greek salads i guess with better dressing and hot peppers. Maybe i ordered the wrong dishes to judge the restaurant. With salads and spreads out the table was so cramped it was a balancing act ha. The candle light was a nice touch though. The soup i ordered for $11 was lemon, rice and big chunks of chicken and tasted good. Just wondering how is my chicken served cold in a hot soup? Its almost impressive. Either way the service suffered due to being busy with our empty drinks seemingly a burden to refresh or any other requests as well. Overall my girl liked her tuna entree but even she wasnt impressed with the experience service-wise or even with the decor. Jalissa was an incredible server. She took on so many tables and still never missed a beat with us. This girl works. She is Seaport level sever. This is the cutest spot. My friend kept wanting to take me here since it's close to their house and they come here so often. He boasted about the Greek fries, but my taste on things is way different than his. However, this one time, he was so right. Man, all the things are good. If you like garlic, you'll love most of these dishes. Everything was so good and so feeling stay away from the bread because that little dipping sauce they give you is delicious and it will make you eat all the bread and then you get full. Do not get the fries before you eat your food because you would have to beat them up because it's so delicious you can't stop eating them. Buy bottles if you plan on having more than two glasses of wine it's cheaper for you and the dope thing is is the server recommended it and I've never had anybody do that I literally buy bottles of wine everywhere I go cuz I know I'm going to drink more than the the glasses and I've never had anybody suggest that so it was dope that she did. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was wonderful. The food was just ok. We started with the hummus that came with pita chips as opposed to fresh pita bread. The hummus itself was bland and a rough texture . It lacked seasoning in particular garlic. The chicken souvlaki was grilled nicely with a good flavor and was served with yogurt, tomatoes and red onion and pita triangles. The spanakopita was mostly spinach and lacked feta cheese. They use the thicker filo dough so you miss those layers of flaky goodness. The food was not worth the price. read more
