Teriyaki Chicken Plate
Anna H.

Attended a holiday event and it was catered by Teri & Yaki. The teriyaki chicken with half rice and noodles with one side of kimchi cucumber was delicious and the portion was huge! The chicken was tender and I'm glad the sauce was to the side as I thought it was already well flavored. I loved the to go box it was in, sturdy as I was not able to finish it and it survived my bike ride home. If you ever have any catering needs, this place definitely has it down pat as I really enjoyed my meal!

Best food ever I brought my 10 yr old and she agreed I wish there were more locations!

Pretty good for a local teriyaki joint. It was a last minute go to for lunch and it did not fail. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken bowl and on another occassion the asian chicken salad. I was satisified with the flavors and the quantity. The chicken was fresh and juicy. This place claims to be the best and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back for another take out lunch.

A good, solid meal. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good, sensible meal, at a good price. The whole plate of food with tax was about $12. I took it home to go, and after about 10 minutes, the food was quite warm. A basic plate from this type of restaurant, but better quality then a certain chain with a "bowl." The chicken was NOT dry, the rice was good, and although a little too mushy, the garlic noodles had a nice flavor. I wouldn't just go here to eat, but if I lived in Pasadena, I could see myself going here once a week on a night I wouldn't want to cook.

Came here in search of a quick family sized meal for 6. Two of us have smaller appetites so we decided to go with the family meal and a Chinese chicken salad. We waited around 20-25 mins for the staff to prepare our order for takeout. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed by our meal. I found the teriyaki chicken sauce to taste different than what I'd typically characterize as teriyaki sauce, and the meat to be a bit tough. The noodles were also a bit bland and overcooked/gummy in texture. In full honesty, I was a bit apprehensive when I saw that the sign said Korean fast food, as the menu is mostly Japanese American items. If you're looking for classic teriyaki chicken, noodles, and rice, I'd recommend going elsewhere. The portion sizes were pretty substantial, however the taste was lacking.

Every time I drive on Lake Ave before hitting Colorado Blvd, I would turn to my right and see Teri & Yaki. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now and yesterday I made it happen. I came here with my dear friend. She was gracious to join me. Thank you my friend! Upon entry, I noticed quite of bit of bar stool seating. I wondered what this place used to be. They also have a few tables and chairs. It's not a very big place, but quite comfortable. Anyway, the menu was on the left side of the wall. Simple menu from teriyaki plates or bowls to salads to ramen to potstickers. Choices of protein or veggie are chicken, korean BBQ beef, spicy pork, tofu, vegetarian. They even have a family meal option. They also do catering. The lady behind the register was very nice and pleasant. Ordering was very easy. I went with the chicken teriyaki plate with both rice and noodles plus cucumbers as my side. The lady recommended the cucumbers as it being their best side. You can choose to have all rice or all noodles if you don't want half and half. My friend choose the same, but with all noodles and wonton chips as her side. My teriyaki chicken was tender and moist, rice and noodles had the perfect texture, sauce was very light and amazingly tasty, and cucumbers were crunchy and nicely marinated... just delicious all around!!! The only gripe was I wish the portions were a bit bigger. I guess I'll have to get two plates next time LOL. My friend enjoyed her plate, too. I'll definitely be back for more deliciousness and try their other food items. Overall, I had a wonderful lunch with my friend. You can't beat superb tasting foods at great low prices with good company. Parking is available in the back of the building. So come on by and give them a try. They are worth a visit. I'll see you here. Btw, cute business name "Teri & Yaki". I wonder if that's just a play on word for "teriyaki" or if they are actual people's names. I'll have to ask them next time LOL.

Next to my office, very convenient if I want to have a quick lunch for work. Food: I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate. The chicken is tender and full of teriyaki flavor. The stir fried noodle is great. I also chose the spicy mixed veg for the side, which I personally don't like as it's a lot of onion. I heard the broccoli would be a good choice. Price: For what I paid for, $9.95 before tax, it's worthy the value for sure. Service: +1 The lady at the cashier is super nice and efficient! I would love to come back because of her~ They have indoor seatings, small but clean. The parking is in the rear. Overall, I enjoyed the food for what I paid for, service is super good. Will come back again.

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen

This place has the best Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen in the World. You must give it a try when coming here. The Teriyaki bowl is very great as well. The sauce is homemade and not overly sweet. You must give this place a try and without a doubt one of the best places in the SGV Area!!

The meat had a little too much sauce for my taste. Not the best I've tasted. Not exactly a good value. Nothing about this place warrants a recommendation. But if you happen to be walking by this place and you're hungry, this place will satisfy.

Shabu is fresh, delicious and authentic. The Kurobuta Pork Loin is very lean and tasty. The Black Angus Ribeye also very nice. Their ponzu has something else added but really nice. Not sure if it had a dash of sake but love their ponzu sauce. Lunch time at counter for shabu fills up quickly so be ready to wait in line if all shabu stations are occupied. Still worth the wait. Once seated, you'll get served fairly quickly. Excellent and very friendly service. Love our initial experience here. Definitely will be back. Happy Eating!!!

My friend and I came to KazuNori for Saturday lunch right when they opened at 11:30. Only one other group was there at opening, but it gradually got busier over the course of lunch. As is standard for handroll places, seating is all counter seating so that you can watch the chefs make and place each piece in front of you. I don't recommend coming here with more than 2 others, as conversation can be difficult due to the seating arrangement. I went with the 6 hand roll set for $29, which offers toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab, and lobster. Everything was good, and my favorites were the scallop, crab, and lobster. You can ask for less rice in each roll if you aren't super hungry or have a smaller stomach. They make everything easy when it comes to paying the bill by charging an automatic 16% fee, so you don't need to fill in the tip. I think that's fair given that each handroll is personally made for you by the chef.

I've been wanting to try Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr. for a while since their original location is in Torrance. I'm really glad they opened a Pasadena location because we're lucky to have one here in the 626 now. Parking was easy since there are spots right in front of the restaurant, but they are metered and cost $2 per hour. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit out on the patio, which was cool and comfortable. To start, we ordered the fried tempura mozzarella sticks ($5.99), onion kakiage ($2.99), and edamame corn kakiage ($5.99). Everything was delicious, but the mozzarella sticks were the clear favorite. They were fried perfectly with an amazing cheese pull and plenty of cheesy flavor. We decided to share all of our entrees family style. For my son, we ordered the plain hot udon, which was simple and perfect for him. For the rest of us, we ordered the Premium Tempura Bowl ($32.97) and added ikura ($4.98), the cold soba with dipping sauce and tempura ($19.99), and Carlos's Jewel Box ($31.99), which came with chopped salmon, toro, yellowtail, and popcorn shrimp over rice. We also added extra toro for $8. On top of that, we ordered a side of five slices of chu-toro for $15.49, which honestly felt like a great deal. The Premium Tempura Bowl was definitely the star of the meal. Every piece of tempura was light, crispy, and fried perfectly without feeling greasy. The fried tempura egg was absolutely chef's kiss, especially once the yolk mixed into the rice. The tempura dipping sauce was also excellent and brought everything together. The Carlos's Jewel Box was another standout. The fish tasted fresh, and the rice with their house sauce paired perfectly with everything. The added toro made it even better. The cold soba was well prepared, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. That's more of a personal preference than anything because the quality was still there. The restaurant has a modern look while still feeling like a cozy mom-and-pop shop. I really liked the decor and the welcoming atmosphere. Since we were the only table sitting outside, I can't really comment on the noise level inside, but the patio was peaceful and relaxing. The service was great. The staff brought out a booster seat for my son and even helped secure it to the patio chair. They also brought us all the condiments, including ginger and pickled vegetables, without us having to ask, which I appreciated. Overall, I would definitely come back. The tempura was some of the best I've had in the 626, and the rice bowls were just as impressive. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering one of the tempura bowls. You really can't go wrong. It's great to see a restaurant that started in Torrance expand to Pasadena because it's a welcome addition to the 626 dining scene.

There was also no crunch to it. I remember the Torrance location tempura had a very nice crunch, batter was light and airy, and it stuck to the food. The sauce is the same, as they put it in the rice instead of you dipping it into a sauce. I also got cold soba on the side since they can't substitute the rice for soba. Soba wasn't anything special. The noodles at the Torrance location is better I promise! The miso soup was okay, didn't really enjoy it that much. It's not your typical miso soup. It has mushrooms in it. The mushroom flavor was too strong for me. Service was meh since we sat down first, but they took the order from our neighbors before us. Their food came out first too. Most likely won't come back to this location again. Not sure if they just had an off day when I went, but I had a disappointing experience.

HAKATA SET (Your choice of: Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen, comes with Mini Spicy Tuna Don, Chicken Karaage 2 pcs, Tsukemono) This was one of the set items for the lunch special. Chose the miso ramen. The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set.
