Went out of my way for some Teri Yaki as it's been about a decade since I had their food from their Arroyo location. That place is long gone and Lake is the last joint standing. Even though this place is further, and the parking is a little tight, this is the superior location. Food was dancing on my palate, as delicious I remembered it. Attended a holiday event and it was catered by Teri & Yaki. The teriyaki chicken with half rice and noodles with one side of kimchi cucumber was delicious and the portion was huge! The chicken was tender and I'm glad the sauce was to the side as I thought it was already well flavored. I loved the to go box it was in, sturdy as I was not able to finish it and it survived my bike ride home. Pretty good for a local teriyaki joint. It was a last minute go to for lunch and it did not fail. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken bowl and on another occassion the asian chicken salad. A good, solid meal. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good, sensible meal, at a good price. The whole plate of food with tax was about $12. I took it home to go, and after about 10 minutes, the food was quite warm. A basic plate from this type of restaurant, but better quality then a certain chain with a "bowl." The chicken was NOT dry, the rice was good, and although a little too mushy, the garlic noodles had a nice flavor. Came here in search of a quick family sized meal for 6. Two of us have smaller appetites so we decided to go with the family meal and a Chinese chicken salad. We waited around 20-25 mins for the staff to prepare our order for takeout. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed by our meal. I found the teriyaki chicken sauce to taste different than what I'd typically characterize as teriyaki sauce, and the meat to be a bit tough. The noodles were also a bit bland and overcooked/gummy in texture. In full honesty, I was a bit apprehensive when I saw that the sign said Korean fast food, as the menu is mostly Japanese American items. If you're looking for classic teriyaki chicken, noodles, and rice, I'd recommend going elsewhere. The portion sizes were pretty substantial, however the taste was lacking. read more

Every time I drive on Lake Ave before hitting Colorado Blvd, I would turn to my right and see Teri & Yaki. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now and yesterday I made it happen. I came here with my dear friend. She was gracious to join me. Thank you my friend! Upon entry, I noticed quite of bit of bar stool seating. I wondered what this place used to be. They also have a few tables and chairs. It's not a very big place, but quite comfortable. Anyway, the menu was on the left side of the wall. Simple menu from teriyaki plates or bowls to salads to ramen to potstickers. Choices of protein or veggie are chicken, korean BBQ beef, spicy pork, tofu, vegetarian. They even have a family meal option. They also do catering. The lady behind the register was very nice and pleasant. Ordering was very easy. I went with the chicken teriyaki plate with both rice and noodles plus cucumbers as my side. The lady recommended the cucumbers as it being their best side. You can choose to have all rice or all noodles if you don't want half and half. My friend choose the same, but with all noodles and wonton chips as her side. My teriyaki chicken was tender and moist, rice and noodles had the perfect texture, sauce was very light and amazingly tasty, and cucumbers were crunchy and nicely marinated... just delicious all around!!! The only gripe was I wish the portions were a bit bigger. I guess I'll have to get two plates next time LOL. My friend enjoyed her plate, too. I'll definitely be back for more deliciousness and try their other food items. Overall, I had a wonderful lunch with my friend. You can't beat superb tasting foods at great low prices with good company. Parking is available in the back of the building. So come on by and give them a try. They are worth a visit. Food was nice and hot. I had access to plenty of condiments, napkins and utensils. Plenty of parking in the rear of restaurant. Friendly and quick service. I'll be back again. Best teriyaki place I have found in SGV. I have tried 5 spots so far. It was fast and fresh. The teriyaki sauce is super flavorful and bright without being too sweet. The sides I got, pickled spicy veggies, cucumber salad, and bean sprouts, were crisp and went with the brown rice and lettuce perfectly. I will definitely be back. A small place located in a busy area of Pasadena. Parking is found in an alley off Locust Street. There are a few designated spots, but it's in a really awkward position. I ordered the Beef and Chicken combo for $13.50 with glass noodles. As a side I also got a small order of potstickers. The chicken was better than the beef, and would recommend sticking just to the chicken. The teriyaki sauce doesn't taste like the typical teriyaki flavor that I'm used to, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. The noodles included in the meal were average. The noodles were overcooked and it didn't taste like much and to be honest I didn't finish it. The glass noodles were overall better. I don't recommend the potstickers. Overall the food is adequate for the price, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it. read more

The Teriyaki here is so bombb!! I've always seen this place closed in passing, and wondered like what the hell, why are closed at 8pm. Then, as fate would have it, was able to finally make it in right before closing one day. I was greeted by a beautiful lady working the register who was very helpful, & super nice while I was trying to figure out what to order. Placed an order for Chicken Teriyaki Plate which came with a side (there's like 7 side options to choose from), I chose broccoli. Also decided to have the double chicken for an extra $3.00, not too shabby. Also, you get to choose whether to have noodles, rice, or both with your plate which I thought was so dope. And man... let me tell you, this did NOT disappoint. The chicken was good, not great. It could've been seasoned a bit more, however, it was still very well cooked. The broccoli was perfect in my opinion. It wasn't mushy or overcooked, but had the perfect little crunch.. It seemed to have been tossed in sesame seed oil, which I thought made it super tasty. No scrappy meat, or odd ball rice and noodles. Very good tasting and very delicious from beginning to end. I am definitely saving this spot and will be coming back for many more! Parking is a challenge, so order ahead or plan it right to get your food. ITEM'S ORDERED: Beef & Chicken Plate (brown rice, white meat) & Chinese Chicken Salad One win here is they do not upcharge for brown rice or choosing to to get all white meat chicken. TASTE: All these teriyaki places are quite similar. It's just really how good their sauce is & how well they cook their proteins are major factors. Sauce here is not the best teriyaki sauce I've had, little too sweet for me here, but adding in some chili paste fixed that & brought the flavor together much better. I would say both the beef & chicken were just a little too try. Nothing so bad though & in argument of the chicken, it was white meat. The rice was not overcooked or mushy which is good. I really enjoyed the fresh cucumber side. It's a little pickled (sutble sweetness & just a little tart). The salad is a little too basic but overall tastes good. It needs to at least have carrots in it. It's really just some shredded chicken breast, almonds?, romaine lettuce & fried wontons. The dressing kind of reminds me of that sesame dressing that many people seem to purchase at Costco, but more tart, which I like. SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING This was a pickup order through Doordash so I did have minimal interaction with staff. But the lady who have me my order did seem very nice. They are located on Lake Ave, but you'll want to turn onto Locust St, where they have a small parking lot in the back. You'll see their sidewalk sign pointing you where to go. They were a little pricey for me when they first opened in 1996. Today, they are quite affordable. The food is delicious. I wouldn't say it's authentic any more than Yoshinoya or Panda Express, but it's good enough to be considered. Parking in the back could be interesting when busy. read more

Disappointed in dryish chicken. I have always loved this restaurant because the meat is so juicy & flavorful. I love that they serve dark meat, as that's my preference. Sadly, today the meat was not at all juicy. I'm tempted to think the meat had been cooked earlier and reheated. I haven't been here in a while, and maybe i just got unlucky, so I'll try it once more. I Called And Spoke Directly With An Individual I Specifically Asked For The Price Of A Chicken Bowl With RICE And Chicken Only With No Noodles. I Was Quoted A Price Of $8.75. The Gentleman Quoted Ne The Additional Charge Of $ 1.50 For White Meat. I Again Asked What Do You Have To Offer That Includes The Side Of Crispy Won Ton Skins. The Gentleman Said I Will Substitute The Noodles And Give You The Side Of Won Ton Skins. I Agreed And Placed The Order. I Picked My Order Up Unknowing To My Surprise That When I Got Home In A Completely Different City That All I Had Was A Bowl Of Cut Up White Meat Chicken With Teriyaki Sauce On It. I Clearly Thought A Mistake Had Been Made. When I Called The Establishment Back And Voiced My Concern About The Bowl Of Chicken I Received The Gentleman Explained He Substituted The Rice And Noodles For The Won Ton Skins. I Was Under The Impression I Had A Clear Cut Conversation. I Wanted A Chicken Bowl That Regularly Comes With Chicken , Rice, And Noodles With No Noodles. If I Wanted A Bowl Full Of Chicken I Could've Gone To The Grocery Store And Purchased A Chicken Breast And Poured Teriyaki Sauce On It. Why Would Tou Not Serve The Rice With The Chicken???
