Service is slow. Waitress that we have is not attentive and doesn't even make eye contacts when she brings water or food. I see she serves other tables with a smile and no issues, they seem like return customers She warms up at the end of our lunch.. guess she doesn't like to serve first time new comers. Other servers are not as attentive.. took us 5+ minutes to get a waitress to come assist us. Food is above average. Ordered several nigiri and doesn't have any fish taste so the quality is fresh. The speed they serve food.. makes me sleepy. I stopped at round 2 cuz I got tired of waiting for my food and I just wanted to leave.

Great hight quality food and sushi, well made woth patience by chef. Service is amazing and attentive. Ambiance is great, not too loud and chaotic . Definitely coming back again . My favorite is seared sushi such as tuna and fresh eel. Fried oysters was delicious. Broiled muscles is good and small kinds . Will update more later

This is my favorite AYCE sushi chain. Every location I've gone to has hit the mark on what you need for an AYCE sushi experience. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food is always excellent. There's also plenty of non-sushi options as well such as ramen bowls and meats. Not everyone at the table has to order AYCE as well which is nice. It's also fairly priced at $36 during lunch and $43 at dinner. The inside of the place is classy but casual. This Pasadena location , though, didn't have the best service. Especially what seems to be the manager at the front desk who was heavily talking down the couple in front of us. She even had to go "crash out" in the back and was very rude to her coworkers. Besides that I recommend this spot (or any other Aikan location)!

One of the best AYCE sushi places that I have been too. I actually want to come back while writing this review. Everything was fresh and great tasting. The service was excellent. The place was clean and welcoming. I recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back! Hopefully they open one in the inland empire and I'll go every week

I came here the other day and I took away one star because they said it would be a 20 minute wait we waiting like over an hour. I understand that that's not their fault. Always because people don't leave but what a terrible time estimate. Once we sat down, though the food came quickly and it was really good. The server even let us know that a large party came in to get an order in before the large party did. Everything was really nice and fresh! I always enjoy the scallop and Ikura options on the premium menu. I'm sad that the soft shell crab is only one serving, but I understand it cannot be unlimited. Inside is a fun atmosphere. Everyone seems very jovial. Parking is pretty bad around the area, but it's possible to find some free or pay by the hour parking.

My coworkers and I celebrated our two interns graduating at Aikan on a Thursday night. We were a party of 9. We did the regular AYCE dinner. 3 rounds in 2 hours. Our favorites were the salmon kama, yellowtail kama, tonkotsu ramen, udon, and seared tuna poke, salmon poke, and yellowtail poke. My coworkers complimented the flavor of the beef teriyaki. Thank you to management for comping us dessert: 9 macaron sandwiches filled with different ice cream flavors (green tea, mango, strawberry, and vanilla). You made this an unforgettable experience for our interns. We look forward to future celebrations at Aikan.

I went on a Sunday night, it was a calm atmosphere. The staff was very personable which is nice. This location is bigger than the one in Northridge. I did AYE regular. Baked mussels very good! karrage chicken could improve as well as octopus balls, less breading more meat pleaseee. edemame was great too. The sashimi so good, The spicy tuna was really good too. Overall I would recommend sashimi, nigiri and fresh rolls!

Food came out on time and great quality sushi for the price. I love their jalapeño shrimp and their mussels. I totally over order the seared shrimp since we love the freshness. Also when ordering the sushi, it comes in half orders so you don't get too full.

First time came here to try this all you can eat Japanese Restaurant everyone is raving about it located in Pasadena. We ordered a Premium tier for 2 . Food was fresh, some were too spicy and the squid legs were too tough ! And the sushi, rice were a bit too thick as compared to their competitors which is a thinner layer, but the all the fish was fresh and savory! Service was excellent! We were given 2 hours to enjoy our meal. At the end I spotted the coffee macaroon ice cream and gave it a try, it was delicious and perfect sweetness ~ you gotta try it~!!! It was full house on a mid weekday. Parking was a pay per hour stall by the curb. They're aesthetic pictures on the outside of the restaurant. Come check it out yourself ~!

We came here to celebrate of our dear friend's BIRTHDAY. We got there at 5:30pm on a SATURDAY and there were many tables open. However, one of our party member wasn't going to arrive until 6:30pm so we decided to walk to TARGET and come back! LINES FORM at 6:30pm!!! Very busy during dinner hours!!! AYCE: 10/10 half of our table eats only cooked foods and the other half can eat raw foods. We enjoyed ordering the FRIED OYSTERS, DYNAMITE, SHISHITO PEPPERS, BAKED MUSSELS, TAKOYAKI, etc... SASHIMI: 10/10 Looks very fresh! My party really enjoyed all the sashimi that they can eat. They enjoyed the squid nigiri, salmon, toro, surf clam, eel, etc... SERVICE: Excellent! Food kept coming continuously. Very attentive service even though gratuity was automatically charged 18% for a party of 6... Worth trying!! Great place to bring your friends and family too!!! PRO TIP: Get there early to avoid lines! AIKAN SUSHI & RAMEN IS WORTH THE TRIP, NO COMPLAININ!!!!!!!!

Spicy tonkotsu ramen (half portion) - super good!!

It's 2026 and I see the prices go up again! AYCE price for dinner, weekends, holidays: $42.99 regular , $54.99 premium Lunch: $35.99 regular, $47.99 premium Premium (13) items include: uni, bluefin toro, ama ebi, ikura, truffle halibut, Japanese scallop (big ones), sea bass, salmon toro, yellowtail toro, oyster, soft shell crab, shishamo tempura, and gyu-don (small bowl). The order form has 3 rounds, but there's a 2 hour limit. The whole party must order the same option. Service is good.

This is long overdue, we've been to Aikan at least a dozen times in Pasadena and to be honest it gets better every time. The quality of the fish for AYCE is amazing and the prices are reasonable as of 2026. Staff is always friendly and the food always arrives very quickly. Our go to AYCE spot for myself, family and friends.

    Cindy R.

The all you can eat menu is worth the wait! The fish is so fresh and tasty. Staff were consistently checking in and making sure we got everything we ordered.

Ask the Community - Aikan Sushi & Ramen

Does the whole party need to be present to be seated? Can majority party be present?

Each time I've gone, the entire party needs to be present before you are seated.

    What time does lunch end?

    11:30-3pm. 3-5 switches to HH

Do they offer a virtual waitlist?

Not for the early bird special, because it applies to the first 50 people in line only. For other time, I am not sure though.

Is premium menus lunch and premium menus dinner same?

    Yes. It's same one.

Are they still offering dollar beer and saki?

    Yes but it's $2 now.

How much is All you can eat dinner?

I think the regular AYCE price now is around $43 and premium price is around $48. Premium menu includes items like uni and oyster if you're into that.

Do I need to make reservations or can I just show up?for Saturday's?

You can do both. If you don't want to wait make reservations.

    Can we make reservations?

Yes, recommend so you don't have to wait long.

Did they bring back a la cart or is it still only all you can eat?? Last time I went post-Covid-reopening, they had removed that menu all together, was disappointed.

Hello Michael, We are delighted to let you know that our a la carte menu and happy hour menu are…

I am a Senior Citizen, a Friend is bringing me for a Birthday Meal on June 13th. (1st time! You came Highly Recommended!) We were wondering if the Afternoon, say around 3:00pm there would be a shorter wait time? Thanks! Looking Forward to our Meal!

Best recommendation is to make sure you go onto the Yelp page and check in 30 minutes prior to you getting there that way they can see you guys right away. Other than that they'll tell you they don't take reservations and you have to be on a seating…

    Are you guys accept solo?

    Yes

How much would dinner for two be if each person also has two drinks. I want to give some friends a gift card to this place but don't know how much to give. $100. $150?

Just depends on your generosity, 120-150

Are they open on Christmas eve, 12/24/23? Tried to call but no one answering the phone :(

Hello! We are open on Christmas eve, regular hours of operation…

Must everyone at your table order AYCE?

Yes, everyone has to order AYCE.

Did they just raise their prices for July 2023? Went for the first time last month… but either I’m crazy or the Happy Hour sushi prices just doubled and the AYCE was increased.

Yup! It looks like they raised their prices by $3 for the ayce.

    Is outside seating still available?

    Not quite yet!

Does Aikan charge gratuity fee for big parties? How many guests is considered a big party?

I think they automatically charge 18% with 5 or more people.

Do you have a fridge to store birthday cake for us?

Hello, do they have seared salmon?

Can only recall a seared tuna. Don't recall a seared salmon in the menu

Is the all you can eat every day? Also is it usually busy on Friday's?

They have all you can eat everyday , try it on Friday night one time , there's a long wait almost 2 hours

Typical order for me is a Bold Ramen, Non-Gluten free, Go Green, Garlic's Best Friend, Give it a kick, with a flavored egg. If I'm extra hungry I will add extra noodles but their other appetizers such as their fried rice have never really wowed me, but hey, not for me. One thing that I do not get even though I am rating five stars is why they serve extra noodles immediately with your bowl of ramen. By the time you're done with your first portion of noodles, the second portion is a noodle brick that you have to pry apart in your bowl with your chopsticks. Ramen Tatsunoya handles "kaedama" wayyyyy better in the respect that it's to order and they bring it out almost instantly after you order it with extra green onions, wood ear mushrooms, etc. Tatsu definitely has the ability to pump out a bowl of ramen fast - so I know they could do this too with just a little extra care between front of house and back of house staff. Please consider it. Your customers ordering extra noodles will immediately notice a quality difference getting to eat fresh noodles!

The karaage had a solid fry, and wasn't greasy at all while being both crunchy and juicy. The sauce was a creamy and spicy and paired well with the chicken. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious although a bit on the sweeter side - the egg was very well marinated and the chashu generous and flavorful. - Tokyo set with tuna don (5/5): Also came with soba noodles, miso soup, and tsukemono. The tuna don had a generous portion of tuna and rice. It tasted fresh and was a simple and well executed dish that satisfies your cravings. The soba noodles were a surprise to me. I didn't expect the soba noodles to be in a sauce with a string sesame oil consistency and taste. It was refreshing yet a bit heavier as a result. I also love the variety of fish provided with it. Honestly, if he ever decides to stop working here, he would make a great bombshell on Love Island The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was great, and everyone we interacted with was so sweet and attentive. Even though the wait was longer than expected, the amazing customer service more than made up for it. We really appreciated how much the staff cared about making things right, and we'll definitely be back!

Love this spot. We came here for their shabu shabu and it was delicious and authentic…read more Please note, Shabu is only available at the counter due to limited 4-6 burner station setup at the counter. Shabu is fresh, delicious and authentic. The Kurobuta Pork Loin is very lean and tasty. The Black Angus Ribeye also very nice. Their ponzu has something else added but really nice. Not sure if it had a dash of sake but love their ponzu sauce. Lunch time at counter for shabu fills up quickly so be ready to wait in line if all shabu stations are occupied. Still worth the wait. Once seated, you'll get served fairly quickly. Excellent and very friendly service. Love our initial experience here. Definitely will be back. Happy Eating!!!

Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her…read moreoffice near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.
