One of the best AYCE sushi places that I have been too. I actually want to come back while writing this review. Everything was fresh and great tasting. The service was excellent. The place was clean and welcoming. I recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back! Hopefully they open one in the inland empire and I'll go every week

Even though Fenny wasn't working today, we had a great time - as usual!! We ordered an amazing variety of sushi, salads, rolls and appetizers. Everything was excellent!! Edgardo did a great job as well.

Food came out on time and great quality sushi for the price. I love their jalapeño shrimp and their mussels. I totally over order the seared shrimp since we love the freshness. Also when ordering the sushi, it comes in half orders so you don't get too full.

First time came here to try this all you can eat Japanese Restaurant everyone is raving about it located in Pasadena. We ordered a Premium tier for 2 . Food was fresh, some were too spicy and the squid legs were too tough ! And the sushi, rice were a bit too thick as compared to their competitors which is a thinner layer, but the all the fish was fresh and savory! Service was excellent! We were given 2 hours to enjoy our meal. At the end I spotted the coffee macaroon ice cream and gave it a try, it was delicious and perfect sweetness ~ you gotta try it~!!! It was full house on a mid weekday. Parking was a pay per hour stall by the curb. They're aesthetic pictures on the outside of the restaurant. Come check it out yourself ~!

My coworkers and I celebrated our two interns graduating at Aikan on a Thursday night. We were a party of 9. We did the regular AYCE dinner. 3 rounds in 2 hours. Our favorites were the salmon kama, yellowtail kama, tonkotsu ramen, udon, and seared tuna poke, salmon poke, and yellowtail poke. My coworkers complimented the flavor of the beef teriyaki. Thank you to management for comping us dessert: 9 macaron sandwiches filled with different ice cream flavors (green tea, mango, strawberry, and vanilla). You made this an unforgettable experience for our interns. We look forward to future celebrations at Aikan.

This is long overdue, we've been to Aikan at least a dozen times in Pasadena and to be honest it gets better every time. The quality of the fish for AYCE is amazing and the prices are reasonable as of 2026. Staff is always friendly and the food always arrives very quickly. Our go to AYCE spot for myself, family and friends.

We came here to celebrate of our dear friend's BIRTHDAY. We got there at 5:30pm on a SATURDAY and there were many tables open. However, one of our party member wasn't going to arrive until 6:30pm so we decided to walk to TARGET and come back! LINES FORM at 6:30pm!!! Very busy during dinner hours!!! AYCE: 10/10 half of our table eats only cooked foods and the other half can eat raw foods. We enjoyed ordering the FRIED OYSTERS, DYNAMITE, SHISHITO PEPPERS, BAKED MUSSELS, TAKOYAKI, etc... SASHIMI: 10/10 Looks very fresh! My party really enjoyed all the sashimi that they can eat. They enjoyed the squid nigiri, salmon, toro, surf clam, eel, etc... SERVICE: Excellent! Food kept coming continuously. Very attentive service even though gratuity was automatically charged 18% for a party of 6... Worth trying!! Great place to bring your friends and family too!!! PRO TIP: Get there early to avoid lines! AIKAN SUSHI & RAMEN IS WORTH THE TRIP, NO COMPLAININ!!!!!!!!

Spicy tonkotsu ramen (half portion) - super good!!

It's 2026 and I see the prices go up again! AYCE price for dinner, weekends, holidays: $42.99 regular , $54.99 premium Lunch: $35.99 regular, $47.99 premium Premium (13) items include: uni, bluefin toro, ama ebi, ikura, truffle halibut, Japanese scallop (big ones), sea bass, salmon toro, yellowtail toro, oyster, soft shell crab, shishamo tempura, and gyu-don (small bowl). The order form has 3 rounds, but there's a 2 hour limit. The whole party must order the same option. Service is good.

This is the cutest little restaurant in Pasadena. Perfect for family dinners or date nights! I am absolutely impressed by this place. Their food was amazing. Everything we got, including the ramen and udon was delicious and not lacking flavor. The crispy rice with salmon was my favorite thing ever. The mussels were cooked perfectly, and flavored well. The sushi rolls were good in portion. I cannot wait to come back to visit Pasadena just for this place. I wish they had anything comparable in Sacramento, but no we don't. It's a must try! The service was quick and awesome. All you can eat, 3 rounds. We were full by round 2. I LOVE this place!

This is my family's favorite AYCE sushi in Pasadena! The trick is to go during odd hours so you don't have to wait long. I appreciate that the menu has pictures, which makes the ordering very user friendly. The portions are smaller, but that means you can try more things from their extensive menu. Super modern and up to date interior, so it's nice to bring ppl here. Staff is wonderful, especially Natari. Very engaging, helpful, and great service! Always recommend this place :)

    Canny L.

Decent AYCE for the price. I ordered the premium option and had a few standout dishes you don't often see elsewhere in the U.S. The highball was reminiscent of drinks you'd find at a Japanese bar. Would recommend.

This is a great spot if you're looking for a variety of all-you-can-eat sushi options. The sushi is fresh, and the appetizers are surprisingly good too. One of my favorites is the fried squid legs--they're always crispy and flavorful. The prices have gone up compared to a few years ago, but I still think it's reasonably priced for what you get. Honestly, you don't have to order the premium menu; the regular AYCE menu has plenty of good choices and is more than satisfying. The only downside is parking. They don't have their own parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially during busy hours. Overall, it's a solid AYCE sushi restaurant with good food, plenty of variety, and fair prices. I'd definitely come back.

Didn't do all you can eat yesterday & ordered 3 specialty rolls with 12 dozen oysters The food was good & tasty. The oysters has a lot of sauce on it which tasted good but I would prefer less or on the side because I personally like raw oysters plain with lemon. My table had 3 people & it was about $70 including tax. I would have just opt for AYCE because my 2 friends weren't full

Does the whole party need to be present to be seated? Can majority party be present?

Each time I've gone, the entire party needs to be present before you are seated.

    What time does lunch end?

    11:30-3pm. 3-5 switches to HH

Do they offer a virtual waitlist?

Not for the early bird special, because it applies to the first 50 people in line only. For other time, I am not sure though.

Is premium menus lunch and premium menus dinner same?

    Yes. It's same one.

Are they still offering dollar beer and saki?

    Yes but it's $2 now.

How much is All you can eat dinner?

I think the regular AYCE price now is around $43 and premium price is around $48. Premium menu includes items like uni and oyster if you're into that.

Do I need to make reservations or can I just show up?for Saturday's?

You can do both. If you don't want to wait make reservations.

    Can we make reservations?

Yes, recommend so you don't have to wait long.

Did they bring back a la cart or is it still only all you can eat?? Last time I went post-Covid-reopening, they had removed that menu all together, was disappointed.

Must everyone at your table order AYCE?

Yes, everyone has to order AYCE.

Did they just raise their prices for July 2023? Went for the first time last month… but either I’m crazy or the Happy Hour sushi prices just doubled and the AYCE was increased.

Yup! It looks like they raised their prices by $3 for the ayce.

    Is outside seating still available?

    Not quite yet!

Does Aikan charge gratuity fee for big parties? How many guests is considered a big party?

I think they automatically charge 18% with 5 or more people.

Do you have a fridge to store birthday cake for us?

Hello, do they have seared salmon?

Can only recall a seared tuna. Don't recall a seared salmon in the menu

There isn't a flashy restaurant sign in front of the building, and once you step in, it truly feels like you are in a small, homey Izikaya in Japan. The restaurant only has a few booths, a few tables and bar seating inside, so reservations are highly recommended on a busy Saturday night. My boyfriend and I got lucky that they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes, because there was seating available at the bar. There is a physical Drink menu (sake, beer, etc.) and the food menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The waitress made suggestions about which dishes she personally liked & we ordered whatever she suggested, along with some of the things we thought looked good. *7/10 Toro w/ seaweed *8/10 Moriwase (chef's selection of sashimi) 2 each of 5 different sashimi. There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.

The first time was for their 13th anniversary tuna bowl special and it was honestly one of the best tuna bowls I've had in a while. The restaurant has both an indoor dining area and outdoor patio, so it felt relatively spacious. The ambiance leans more on the upscale side. I would recommend parking at the Delacey parking structure for reliable and affordable parking (it's around an 8 minute walk). There was about a 10-20 minute wait after we arrived and the staff was very attentive throughout the entire experience. 1. Tuna Bowl: Their once a year anniversary special ($13 for their 13th anniversary), and this might've been my favorite dish I've had here. The cuts of tuna were incredibly fresh. The toro was thick-cut with a melt in your mouth texture. The sushi rice was also cooked and seasoned perfectly, which added a really nice touch to the dish. I would order this any time if it were on the regular menu! 2. Sushi lunch set with negitoro hand roll and miso soup: A solid lunch set with a variety of sushi that was all very fresh. Loved the negitoro hand roll as well! 3. Salmon & Ikura Don: Got this as part of their $18 lunch special for June 2026, which came with miso soup on the side. I had planned to be phone-free for the hour, but curiosity bested me and I whipped out my phone for a scan. The bulgogi with rice and miso called to me, strangely, considering the heat outside. The atmosphere at this slow hour was so nice I almost wished it was raining. A few Clairo and The Marías songs later (at the perfect volume--audible, but still low enough to have a quiet chat) my miso soup arrived. Now, it's been a good few years since I've had miso soup, and I've never really been crazy about it, but this... this was some damn good soup. Liquid umami. Then the bulgogi and rice came. This is the best bulgogi I've ever had. So tender. Quite literally melted in my mouth. Punches of savory juice, tender fatty bits, golden brown perfectly caramelized onions, and a sweetness to bring it all together. Every bite was perfect. It washed over me and my shoulders and spine practically uncoiled themselves. I want to try more from the menu but... I'm... I'm going to need this again. Like tomorrow. I should say, especially for the price, this is a lot o' grub. A perfect filling portion, especially with the rice and soup. I had a smoothie a couple hours earlier so I really should've asked for a to-go box 80% of the way through... but I was just having too much fun stuffing my face to stop. To recap--lovely service, great music, and food to live for. And a restroom. It's not public, but they do have a restroom. Thank god for that restroom. I was hungry, yes, but more than anything I really needed that restroom.

My partner and I shared the rainbow roll, mango cha cha roll, lemon salmon roll, salmon bento box, and cheese bulgogi. I really enjoyed the creative specialty sushi rolls, with my favorite roll being the mango cha cha roll. It tasted savory from the crispy shrimp tempura, while the fresh mango on top added a nice, refreshing pop of sweetness. As for the lemon salmon roll, it tasted fresh and more citrus-forward. Surprisingly, the salmon bento box was very filling and balanced. This included 2 pieces of grilled teriyaki salmon, 4 pieces of California roll, mixed tempura, miso soup, and a small salad with dressing. For anyone who does not eat raw fish, this would be the perfect dish. For the cheese bulgogi, there was a sweet-savory soy garlic flavor. I liked that the meat was thinly sliced, which paired perfectly with the gooey melted cheese. However, it was a bit saltier than I'd like it to be. Some rice and miso soup was served alongside this to balance out the richness from the cheese. Service could have been better. It seems that the staff were not very attentive at times, even though the place was not busy. Nonetheless, all of the food was pretty good and there was a chill atmosphere. This is a solid sushi bar to visit for either lunch or dinner.

The space is cozy, dim, and stylish perfect for a slow, flavorful night of yakitori, small plates, and sake. The sushi is clean and high quality, the skewers come out smoky with that perfect char, and the wagyu dishes are the kind that make you pause mid conversation. Their sauces and marinades lean bold, and the plating always feels intentional without being pretentious. Service is warm, pacing is smooth, and the whole experience feels like a neighborhood gem that knows exactly what it's doing. A refined but relaxed izakaya with standout flavors, great energy, and a menu worth exploring bite by bite.

It's thoughtful, aesthetically pleasing, spacious, and with parking (valet) on site if you need. I loved the food - all of it. Service also was excellent. The issue was the music and ambiance. I went in search of a peaceful dinner, but the soundtrack was something out of a mall store for teens. Think: Forever 21 or H&M. Unbelievably obnoxious, too loud, and completely out of sync with the food and design of the space. It honestly made it hard to enjoy the meal to the tune of pounding EDM and pop hits of yesteryear. Some jazz, downtempo electronica, Japanese folk classics - or even city pop would be an enormous improvement. Lighting could also dim down considerably at night. It was too flat and too bright. Dimming the overall levels and adding candles or table lamps would improve the experience meaningfully, making things feel more intimate and classy. With some small adjustments, the entire experience could be easily 5 stars. I'd love to go back if things improve, because the food was lovely.

The pork katsu was crispy without being greasy, and the karaage was super juicy with that rich curry sauce pairing perfectly. We also grabbed an original ramune soda and ended the meal with a matcha pudding that was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet--just how I like it. Major bonus: they offer half-off during the last 10 minutes before closing, so if you're nearby, it's worth swinging by for a deal! The location is great, but parking can be a bit tight--just a heads up. Overall, a hidden gem for bento and Japanese comfort food lovers. It was clean and well decorated inside!

There's paid underground parking around the back of the building, but there's plenty of free street parking nearby. I was on my lunch break and asked them if they could make my food within a certain time and they assured me they could. I ordered the grilled salmon bento and it was ready in what felt like a few minutes. They give me a ridiculously large bag for my single bento box, as well as a utensil set. The lady who helped me was very nice and accommodating. Originally the price of the bento is $20 but I had a coupon so I paid about $12 for it. It was definitely worth what I paid. The salmon is perfectly moist and the glaze is slightly sweet to balance the saltiness. The rice is freshly cooked and fluffy. I loved all the sides. I wish they explained more about what sides they served and what sauces were included. Intuitively, I put the sweet glaze like sauce on the fish and the nutty sauce on the salad, but I think it should be more clear. I think it's worth $20 for how well put together the bento is, but it's still a little higher than my typical budget for a meal. I would probably go back to try some of their other delicious sounding options though as it was a very enjoyable meal.
