Had the regular menu and it came with plenty of options. Great and friendly service. One of the better AYCE in LA/OC for the price point ! Favorite fish: salmon, yellowtail, aburi selection

Aikan is my favorite AYCE sushi in all of SoCal. We come pretty often; quality of the fish for the price point is amazing and there's so much variety. Tried the new signature carpaccios today and the four dishes we tried were the mackerel, the seared salmon, regular salmon, and scallop. My party really enjoyed the seared salmon and the mackerel the most. They all had very delicious sauces. I would recommend trying all of them!

New menu and price started, but the food and service remains the same Love getting the salmon and yellowtail carpaccio!

I have been wanting to try to this place for years and the time has come. I came last night with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday. Unfortunately, our experience was subpar at best. This is an all-you-can-eat dinner priced at $42.99 per person, so we expected the food and service to reflect that price. We ordered quite a bit of food, but several of the items we ordered were missing from our table. The sushi quality was also underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. On top of that, we found the pictures on the menu to be misleading. What was actually served looked noticeably different from the photos, which made the experience even more disappointing. The restaurant is also walk-in only and does not take reservations, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Overall, for $42.99 per person, we expected much better quality, accuracy with our orders, and presentation.

Not a fan of this place. Took my friends out for dinner and I had the chirashi bowl. $26. The fish was not fresh. There were six types of items on the dish (in addition to seaweed salad and masago). The two types of tuna seemed like second grade cuts. They tasted frozen and dried out. Two other choices were processed scrambled eggs (Tamago) and two pieces of dried out (Korean?) Krab sticks. This dish seemed like it was filled with leftover fish & filler ingredients. The sushi rice had absolutely no flavor. The only highlight about this review was the server David. He was super friendly and offered good customer service.

Came here not knowing what to expect, but was left super happy, full, and satisfied. Quality of their fish was super fresh and flavorful. Their AYCE menu had a lot of different options: noodles, nigiris, carpaccio, appetizers, fried foods, etc... Carpaccios had a flavorful sauce that complimented the sashimi. Nigiris were super fresh. Loved the ika, saba, and ebi more than usual. Fish to rice ratio was perfect. Usually not an appetizer person but the black pork sausage stood out, was grilled perfectly and super flavorful. I loved that Aikan gives you more than 3 rounds unlike most AYCE places. They give you unlimited rounds under 2 hours. You order from a sheet of paper. Service was perfect. Both our servers kept checking in on us throughout the night. They constantly refilled our drinks, gave us more ginger and wasabi when we ran out, made sure we gave our new orders, and made sure we were doing good. Definitely went above and beyond. They were also super friendly and nice! The restaurant itself was pretty big, spacious, and dim lit: they have a big back area where the bathrooms are located and a spacious front area. Booths are cute, love the ambience and professionalism of the staff. It was pretty busy when I went around 7:30-8 pm so the whole restaurant was packed. Good thing we only waited about 5-10 minutes. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place out. I would highly recommend this place for AYCE sushi lovers. Was super happy with the price, quality, and atmosphere of the restaurant. Definitely coming back.

I have reviewed this place before, I should be getting paid at this point, but I assure you, I'm not I just love the food, the staff, and the atmosphere. My only tiny nit pick, is that if you have additional food left over at the end, from the all you can eat, you don't get wrap it up and take it home, you HAVE TO leave it there, be charged extra, then they trash it. I never order too much, but my friends sometimes do I don't like that, but I absolutely understand the reason for the rule and policy though, because I'm sure people abused it, and now the rest of us have to suffer. Anyway, I love this place, and I'm just going to let my AMAZING photos do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!

This is my favorite AYCE sushi chain. Every location I've gone to has hit the mark on what you need for an AYCE sushi experience. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food is always excellent. There's also plenty of non-sushi options as well such as ramen bowls and meats. Not everyone at the table has to order AYCE as well which is nice. It's also fairly priced at $36 during lunch and $43 at dinner. The inside of the place is classy but casual. This Pasadena location , though, didn't have the best service. Especially what seems to be the manager at the front desk who was heavily talking down the couple in front of us. She even had to go "crash out" in the back and was very rude to her coworkers. Besides that I recommend this spot (or any other Aikan location)!

Service is slow. Waitress that we have is not attentive and doesn't even make eye contacts when she brings water or food. I see she serves other tables with a smile and no issues, they seem like return customers She warms up at the end of our lunch.. guess she doesn't like to serve first time new comers. Other servers are not as attentive.. took us 5+ minutes to get a waitress to come assist us. Food is above average. Ordered several nigiri and doesn't have any fish taste so the quality is fresh. The speed they serve food.. makes me sleepy. I stopped at round 2 cuz I got tired of waiting for my food and I just wanted to leave.

Great hight quality food and sushi, well made woth patience by chef. Service is amazing and attentive. Ambiance is great, not too loud and chaotic . Definitely coming back again . My favorite is seared sushi such as tuna and fresh eel. Fried oysters was delicious. Broiled muscles is good and small kinds . Will update more later

Be prepared for long weekend waits(40min for my party 4 adults 3 children) , but the quality of the sushi, rolls, even their ramen and udon dishes on their standard all you can eat menu set were fantastic. The spicy crispy tuna rice had great crispy crunch and heat on the tuna. The restaurant does tend to be more sauce forward so if you're not a fan of that then can just scrape some of it off. Hans, our waiter, was fantastic and brought extra napkins and took care of our small kids well too. Would come back again.

    Christopher D.

One of the best AYCE sushi places that I have been too. I actually want to come back while writing this review. Everything was fresh and great tasting. The service was excellent. The place was clean and welcoming. I recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back! Hopefully they open one in the inland empire and I'll go every week

My coworkers and I celebrated our two interns graduating at Aikan on a Thursday night. We were a party of 9. We did the regular AYCE dinner. 3 rounds in 2 hours. Our favorites were the salmon kama, yellowtail kama, tonkotsu ramen, udon, and seared tuna poke, salmon poke, and yellowtail poke. My coworkers complimented the flavor of the beef teriyaki. Thank you to management for comping us dessert: 9 macaron sandwiches filled with different ice cream flavors (green tea, mango, strawberry, and vanilla). You made this an unforgettable experience for our interns. We look forward to future celebrations at Aikan.

Ask the Community - Aikan Sushi & Ramen

Does the whole party need to be present to be seated? Can majority party be present?

Each time I've gone, the entire party needs to be present before you are seated.

    What time does lunch end?

    11:30-3pm. 3-5 switches to HH

Do they offer a virtual waitlist?

Not for the early bird special, because it applies to the first 50 people in line only. For other time, I am not sure though.

Is premium menus lunch and premium menus dinner same?

    Yes. It's same one.

Are they still offering dollar beer and saki?

    Yes but it's $2 now.

How much is All you can eat dinner?

I think the regular AYCE price now is around $43 and premium price is around $48. Premium menu includes items like uni and oyster if you're into that.

Do I need to make reservations or can I just show up?for Saturday's?

You can do both. If you don't want to wait make reservations.

    Can we make reservations?

Yes, recommend so you don't have to wait long.

Did they bring back a la cart or is it still only all you can eat?? Last time I went post-Covid-reopening, they had removed that menu all together, was disappointed.

Hello Michael, We are delighted to let you know that our a la carte menu and happy hour menu are…

I am a Senior Citizen, a Friend is bringing me for a Birthday Meal on June 13th. (1st time! You came Highly Recommended!) We were wondering if the Afternoon, say around 3:00pm there would be a shorter wait time? Thanks! Looking Forward to our Meal!

Best recommendation is to make sure you go onto the Yelp page and check in 30 minutes prior to you getting there that way they can see you guys right away. Other than that they'll tell you they don't take reservations and you have to be on a seating…

    Are you guys accept solo?

    Yes

How much would dinner for two be if each person also has two drinks. I want to give some friends a gift card to this place but don't know how much to give. $100. $150?

Just depends on your generosity, 120-150

Are they open on Christmas eve, 12/24/23? Tried to call but no one answering the phone :(

Hello! We are open on Christmas eve, regular hours of operation…

Must everyone at your table order AYCE?

Yes, everyone has to order AYCE.

Did they just raise their prices for July 2023? Went for the first time last month… but either I’m crazy or the Happy Hour sushi prices just doubled and the AYCE was increased.

Yup! It looks like they raised their prices by $3 for the ayce.

    Is outside seating still available?

    Not quite yet!

Does Aikan charge gratuity fee for big parties? How many guests is considered a big party?

I think they automatically charge 18% with 5 or more people.

Do you have a fridge to store birthday cake for us?

Hello, do they have seared salmon?

Can only recall a seared tuna. Don't recall a seared salmon in the menu

Is the all you can eat every day? Also is it usually busy on Friday's?

They have all you can eat everyday , try it on Friday night one time , there's a long wait almost 2 hours

I also don't like their chicken or chashu any longer and I always go with the tofu. If I'm extra hungry I will add extra noodles but their other appetizers such as their fried rice have never really wowed me, but hey, not for me. One thing that I do not get even though I am rating five stars is why they serve extra noodles immediately with your bowl of ramen. By the time you're done with your first portion of noodles, the second portion is a noodle brick that you have to pry apart in your bowl with your chopsticks. Ramen Tatsunoya handles "kaedama" wayyyyy better in the respect that it's to order and they bring it out almost instantly after you order it with extra green onions, wood ear mushrooms, etc. Tatsu definitely has the ability to pump out a bowl of ramen fast - so I know they could do this too with just a little extra care between front of house and back of house staff. Please consider it. Your customers ordering extra noodles will immediately notice a quality difference getting to eat fresh noodles!

This…read moretime, I had about an hour to kill while waiting for my appointment at the Apple Store in Pasadena. I was walking around thinking about what to eat. The I saw the Noodle Street sign. Of course, I went in because I already know the quality of their food. I always find their noodles fresh and chewy, and the dishes are rich in texture and flavor. But this time, since I was by myself, I didn't order a noodle dish because I was just by myself. So, I ordered the beef roll, which is also to die for! Just really enjoy their food overall. If you've never tried Noodle Street before, definitely check out their menu and give their noodles a try. This particular location was clean, the staff was nice, and the wait wasn't long when I arrived. I would definitely come back again! I'd like to add one more detail. While I was waiting for my food, one of the staff members, possibly the manager, Justin, came over and asked if I'd like to have a small bowl of broth on the side. I said yes and was impressed by that offer. Why? This young man understood that I had ordered only the beef roll, which is a dry dish. Having a little warm broth on the side made it much easier and more enjoyable to eat. I had water, though, but I personally never drink water before or after my meal, so the broth was definitely a perfect complement to the beef roll. This is the first time in my Noodle Street eating history that I've been offered something simple to enhance my dining experience. A small gesture that I think is worth mentioning, as it showed that he was attentive and had very good common sense when it comes to customer service. Thumbs up to him, and an extra star from me for this location.

Most of the dishes are Korean and Korean spiced versions however so be prepared. I expected the food to be much spicier and more pungent. They are not -- they are modernized slightly lighter versions of Korean noodle dishes. I'm addicted to the cold noodle salad with kale, carrots, and you can ask for it with tofu as I'm not eating beef for the next six months due to the beef recalls nowadays. Love the modern simple setup. There is a crew of chefs in the back cooking behind the glass. The staff are attentive and they take Apple Pay. I cannot believe the prices here. They are very reasonable. Why go to a fast food restaurant? End of Yelp.
