Crispy tofu teriyaki
Chelle T.

It's in the food court at the Camp Hill Mall (aka Capital City Mall). I love their food. Especially the crispy tofu teriyaki. The staff are always friendly and get things made fairly quickly but you may wait after you order 5-10 minutes. There's always other people in line or waiting to get food there so you know it's yum! They cook up everything to order right there in front of you on the griddle. At least they heat it up fresh for you. They obviously do some food prep behind the scenes and ahead of time as well, but at least the food isn't sitting on a hot plate or under a heat lamp, but is freshly cooked or heated up as you order. There's plenty of tables to choose from in the food court and restrooms located close as well if you need to wash up etc.

Teriyaki Chicken with Veggies and Steamed Rice

I don't eat fast food other than Chick Fil A, but we all know that's not really fast food!! This place is a which way for me to eat a decently healthy quick meal. They cook the meat right in front of you and it's super fast on their grill. The workers are polite and I've never had an issue here. I like to get double meat that way it's a good portion. This place is clean, good food, and not too expensive. If you haven't tried it you should bc it's the best option in the mall.

The spicy salmon poke bowl.

I was at the Capital City Mall and I wanted something different, something healthy but good. A friend suggested a poke bowl at the Teriyaki Express. He said it featured rice, salad and your choice of meat. That sounded like it might be good but I wasn't too familiar with poke bowls. I'd had one a few years ago at a different restaurant and liked it, but it did not include a salad. I will try it as long as it's not spicy and the fish is cooked, I said. My friend laughed and said they cook the fish and that it wasn't spicy. So I ordered the salmon poke bowl with white rice. Unfortunately I only speak English so what I asked for and what the man behind the counter heard may have been a little different. What I got was a spicy raw salmon poke bowl. It was to go so I didn't realize what it was until I was sitting in the office some ways away. The bowl included salad greens on the bottom, white rice, raw salmon in some kind of mucus-like sauce, what I think was cut-up mango, a type of teriyaki hot sauce, something crunchy, what looked like seaweed and some uneatable decorations. It cost $13.50 and I didn't have time to go back out for something different, so I dug in. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The raw fish didn't have much flavor, but the flavors I did taste were not to my liking. I understand that some people may love this flavor combo, but not me. I tried, in fact I ate almost a third of it. But my stomach began to object and I had to stop. My friend laughed and scolded that I should have asked for cooked salmon. I'm not used to having to ask for the meat in my meal to be cooked. If I order salmon at Red Lobster, for example, I never say, "and by the way, I want it cooked." The bottom line is that I don't want to knock a restaurant's food too much if I get something that's outside my wheelhouse, something I'm not familiar with. On the other hand, if a restaurant doesn't have a way of getting an order right (such as a language barrier), they need to have a better way of communicating. Such as a well explained menu with numbers to order by. I did eat at Teriyaki Express again, this time ordering the teriyaki chicken with rice (the chicken was cooked!). I've had this dish many times at various places and find their version to be about a 3 out of 5. The teriyaki sauce was a little less flavorful than what I'm used to and the vegetables were a little skimpy, but not terrible for mall food.

Who says food court/mall food isn't good? This is a truly a diamond in the rough where the owner puts a refreshing spin on an old classic.

If you're looking for tasteless fare, this place is for you. There was no teriyaki flavor in the meal...or any other flavor for that matter.

For food court food it's pretty decent. But had I known this changed hands I would have gone to Sushi Express instead

(You can notice some of the warrior samurai hall banner decor and menu art styles are similar!) The food at Asoul Ramen is delicious; my hubby got the traditional pork shoyu ramen in spicy tonkatsu broth which had a perfectly cooked egg and rich flavor with chewy noodles. I got the Japanese katsu curry (pork option) with rice which was perfectly breaded and paired beautifully with the curry sauce with potato and carrot. It was so good dipped into the sauce!! Also not too salty. Good portion and was served with a little bowl of miso soup and a little salad with lettuce and carrot drizzled with a very tasty gingery dressing. Not to mention the restaurant is insanely aesthetic!!! Gorgeous interior with honeycomb themed tables! And pink cherry blossom tree decorations up front near their gelato section. I need to go back to try those! They have flavors like pistachio and ube/taro churning in the entryway. They're honestly so smart

Food was phenomenal: rich tonkotsu shoyu broth, tender chashu, perfectly cooked noodles, and the spicy beef ramen had just the right kick. Friendly service, quick even on a busy night, and great iced tea. If you're near Camp Hill/Capital City Mall and want amazing ramen in a stunning setting, go now. We're already planning round two!

When you're seated, you get a smallish metal bowl and a piece of paper. On the paper, you write your name, your table number and you choose your carb base: rice, fried rice, lo mein noodles or udon. Now take your bowl to the hibachi bar and LOAD UP THAT BOWL. You get one chance at this so mound that sucker up. It's cheap veggies up front and some really good protein choices closer to the drop off point. Really tasty stuff. For the proteins, I recommend the pork, the shrimp and the bay scallops. In the veggie zone, listen to me, load up on the sliced garlic cloves. When you get to the drop off point, add some of the spices they've got chilling on the rack there. My boys liked the curry powder. I really liked the Montreal Chicken seasoning. The servers will bring your completed hibachi bowl to the table. While you wait, hot the hot bar and and the sushi. Something to keep in mind: you can take your hibachi "leftovers" home. You cannot take buffet items. For me, the buffet highlights were the fried sweet potatoes (kind of an odd item, but really tasty!), the chicken wings were really crispy and good, and the coconut shrimp were a delightful surprise, especially if you get them when they first hit the buffet. I didn't try too much of the sushi. it's not really my thing. There's also some cool sashimi and other small Japanese nibbles like edamame. The dessert selection is pretty amazing. There's a wall of Hershey ice cream cups and novelties. The Dessert Station at the front of the restaurant is a revelation. At the bottom, you'll find salads and dressings like you'd get at a more traditional hibachi spot. On the shelves, tasty little mini desserts with actual flavors. These are worth trying. I really enjoyed this place and hope they stick around. The food is fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced.

The hibachi was horrible and considering that is the food they pride themselves on, you would think it would be something to write home about. The seafood was over cooked and rubbery, while my daughter's pork was raw. There was no flavor, but whatever seasoning they used on the meat. It's dry and bland. The "buffet" portion is very small. The best thing on it was the dumplings. The sushi options were plentiful, but the quality was questionable. The dessert was the only thing that was good. Service was non existent, other than being sat and drinks gotten. It is LOUD and the tables are stacked on top of each other. Like barely get out of your seat stacked. I would not recommend this place.

There were probably 8 to 10 spots out front in their parking lot as well as street parking. Upon entering I was immediately greeted, seated, and handed a menu.(pictures included). There was a large selection of sushi, however I decided upon the salmon teriyaki. I chose a diet cola as my beverage, not being in the mood for hot or sweet tea, etc. My order arrived on a sizzling platter within 10 minutes. On the table was soy sauce and low sodium soy sauce which was what I used on my white rice. The salmon was accompanied with onions, sliced carrots, and broccoli, and everything was delicious (Photo included in my accompanying pics). The restaurant was clean, reasonably quiet, not excessively busy during my time there, and with an active take out service in action. The photo of my tab is includes. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with great service and food!
