Wow, there are some negative reviews below, however I'm reviewing my experience which is thankfully entirely positive. I property manage a house in Kapalua which has a quarterly spray by Terminix. Jason, our tech, is always on time, polite, really helpful with any problems we are experiencing (we set rat traps and caught the wee beastie straight away), is knowledgeable and just a really nice guy who does a great job! We have problems with centipedes (like most people on Maui, including my own home) and they are always dead when I find them which is a relief. After a spray there might be a few more dead insects about, but that means it is working :) I would recommend Jason, he is friendly and a professional. read more

Any company with pest control service, not a problem. For termite protection, Terminex offers a yearly " termite protection plan". If you have this plan and see damage from termites, remember that they will have to find a "live" termite for the warranty to go in effect. Unless the "live" termite surfaces, the inspector will dig into the wood with a screwdriver or sharp tool to look for it. Terminex will not fix the damage they cause. Better to have your home inspected every 5 years or so or when droppings occur. read more

Terminix is not reliable or thorough. We experienced a number of issues with them and their staffing. Initially, I showed Tomas the technician dead dry wood termites. I didn't know what the were at the time. He looked at them said he was not sure what they were and told me if they come back let him know. Tomas did no inspection of the house or furniture to determine if they were infesting a part of the home or furnishing. Months later I texted Tomas 3 times and he never responded. I finally I called the company and they sent a different technician. He found 5 pieces of my furniture to be infested with dry wood termites. I ended up having to pay $1,000 to treat the furniture. Had Tomas been thorough I could have saved $1,000 by having him treat the infested furniture. Accordingly, I called his manager Andrew Joaquin to complain and told him I do not want Tomas to service my home. I was assured that a new technician would be assigned. Three weeks later Tomas called to set an appointment to service our home. I was livid! The manager dropped the ball and lied to me about scheduling a new technician. Finally, I called the Terminix head quarters to lodge a complaint with management. They took my message, it's been two weeks and I have not heard from anyone at Terminix. I feel because of the lack of service Terminix should reimburse me $1,000 for allowing a problem to persist and fester. read more

We have had a termite protection warranty for decades. The house was initially treated (fumigated) back in the 90's. We paid for the warranty renewal every year since then. Terminex did a yearly inspection. Over the years we ts the inspector about droppings. They said it was from ants pushing old droppings out. During Covid we had to get the roof done. We found extensive termite damage in the rafters. We called Terminex for months. No one came out to check. Roof and carpentry got done. Every year we had the inspections done, still paying the extended warranty. This year we noted more damage and more droppings, called Terminex, no one responding. In June they call to set up the yearly inspection. Guy comes looks at the house. We told him there were droppings, some in the bedrooms and some under on the house posts. They declined to go under the house and the inspector noted droppings that we cleaned up and the ones under the house in the report. Terminex calls to remind us about the renewal. We explained that since Terminex was not honoring the warranty and we show damage that had to have occurred during these years under warranty, we were not going to renew. Another inspector comes out to check. This guy starts prying open walls and cabinet trims saying the only way they will agree to treat the house under warranty is IF they can find a LIVE termite. The inspector agrees the damage appears to be recent, we told him, we called during Covid and Terminex didn't respond when we had extensive damage. They called again today to remind us about renewing the extended warranty. It is apparent, given that you have to have a LIVE termite for Terminex to honor the warranty, a homeowner has to have their house walls torn apart so they can find the LIVE termite. The inspector even saw termite wings in damaged areas and admitted the damage was NOT decades old, but still no LIVE termite so they cannot do anything under warranty, but they are insistent about renewing the extended warranty. So, for the warranty to be honored, you have to catch the termite in action. Over the years, we have paid put thousands. It is more cost effective to just termite treated your home every 5 to 6 years, then to keep paying out a yearly fee, only to have the company decline coverage when damage is evident. Then, would you hire this same company that declined your extended warranty, because they required a LIVE termite as proof, to now treat your home under regular contract? read more

I have used Terminix for years because I lived at Harbor Lights (need I say more?). Back then, they were really good. I've learned that it all depends on the tech. Their customer service needed a lot of help a few years ago but after implementing their online services, it's gotten so much better. After moving back to the state following a year elsewhere, I moved into an older house that the former tenants didn't take care of. I hate living with roaches! The first tech that came didn't put that much effort into his job but after the Lahaina Fires, the Lahaina tech, Jason, lost a lot of his clients on the West Side. I was so fortunate to have him spray my house for cockroaches. Jason really cares about his job and his customers. He's awesome. I'm on a quarterly contract. When Jason sprays, I don't have to call him back. He does an excellent job. When he first sprayed it was pretty bad. It didn't take him long to get my problem under control. It definitely changed my mind about Terminix and now I sing their praises. Jason is the ONLY tech I want spraying my house. Thanks Jason. You're awesome!! read more

We've been using Terminex for over 10 years now. We have a quarterly contract in which they spray the exterior of our home, and will spray the inside too if you request it and are home at the time. It's great because we have quite a few centipedes due to the terrain and surroundings. One oddity happened as our bill slowly jumped close to 90% from when we first started service. While inflation is expected, the oddity came when I called to cancel service due to the sharp price increase. I phoned the local office and they naturally asked why I was canceling as we've been customers for over a decade. I told her why, and she magically dropped our quarterly payment back, near to its original amount, stating that all we need to do is "call in when this happens". Hmm... Okay... Much appreciated though! After a treatment, its not unusual to find nearly dead or completely dead bugs and critters around the yard, especially those nasty centipedes. Sometimes they do find their way into the house, so it's not a 100% guarantee, unfortunately. The treatment is pet friendly as well, you just have to let the area dry before letting them back in. I have been a Terminix customer for Termites since 1998. A company that used to be reliable has turned into a nightmare to work with. All "Maui" phone numbers are answered by a national service representative. Today it was answered in New Orleans. I was promised 3 days ago that the Maui Service Techs would call me and schedule an appointment for "live" termite activity in my home. I have an annual contract. I have yet to get a call, my account that is supposed to show appointments had nothing on it. When I called regarding the no contact as I was promised I would receive the rep told me I have an appointment scheduled for next week Tuesday. Hmmm, no call, no appointment scheduled, email or text, and funny not even listed on my account. As other people have stated in their reviews, they either no show an appointment or show up to do something, and the client is unaware of the appointment. Luckily I hunted this down, but I still have yet to speak to my local company. The rep kept saying the "way the system" works is.... Nothing about customer service, but the customer has to live with their system. I have a service contract that protects the expensive investment made in tenting my house, and yet this company wants to do everything it can to avoid serving the people who pay them. I stay with them because all live activity is treated under the contract, if we need to be tented again, it is FREE because of this ongoing contract, so I have to put up with their "SYSTEM" and service or pay thousands of dollars when my house needs to be tented. If you read the review about Blen, HE WAS fantastic; he doesn't work for them and hasn't for quite sometime now. For every service, you will have a new tech because Terminix cannot keep employees. For those of us caught in this "system" of theirs, it is beyond unacceptable service,. For anyone considering working with Terminix, I say go with Bowman; they are fantastic, reliable, and communicate with their customers. Inconsistent service. Some techs are very reliable and will give a heads up. Chaun only did the front of our house and never called that he was coming. He was supposed to come back on Saturday but was a no shown. Terminix website showed the appointment was rescheduled to Sunday but again no communication and then Chaun was a no show. If I could give zero stars I would for this company and their customer service. I was a loyal customer for 10 years. Then this year it all fell apart. I have had the same service performed on my property with nothing changing on my end. I have 2 homes on my property. I noticed the long term technicians left the company and have seen a high turn over rate of technicians servicing my property the last 2 years. I am on a quarterly service plan. Starting 2 services ago, a technician showed up without notice, 1 month before schedule and was on my property for 5 mins and said he sprayed one of my two homes on my property. I have exterior cameras so I can see what they do on my property. Terminex charged me $185 for 1/2 a service and I seriously don't even think he did well in the 5 mins he was there. I was not home as he came unannounced. I called terminex to let them know he did not service my property correctly and came a month early. I verified the number they should contact me to let me know ahead of time they are coming and if they are sending a brand new technician you would think they would call to make sure they do a thorough job on your property. Terminex said they would send the tech back out and fix the service they just did and spray around my other home. I asked her to make sure all the notes of how to service my property are in the system like it has been for 10 years, she confirmed and She said no problem and we will also perform a complimentary terminate inspection when they come... Well I received no call, no service, nothing after this call and no refund for the service they did not perform. As a loyal customer I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought well the next service should be better now that they have notes on our property of what they should spray and I know they have my phone number. Next quarterly service happens and they come to my house no call, and perform another 5 min service on 1 house out of 2 and leave then Charge me $185 for the service. Again they only did 1/2 my property!!! Now it is 6 months of no service on 1/2 my property and a half ass job on my 1 house. I call them again and ask for a refund of the service they did not perform for the second time in a row and they say no refunds! We can credit you on the next service! I tell them why would I want another service from you when you haven't been able to do the service correctly the last 2 times. I had no choice but to cancel my service all together. I insisted I talk to a manager for charging me twice now in full for a service they did not perform. The customer service rep insisted a manager would call me back within 48 hours and that she would send an email confirming our conversation. Well nothing happened. No email, no phone call, no refund! I was their kindest customer always giving them the opportunity to make things right but enough is enough! Don't go with their service they do not care about you and will continue to charge you with no quality service or customer service. They are in the business for themselves and stealing from their customers....they do not care about their customers at all or doing the right thing. What they don't understand is that it costs a lot more to gain a new customer than to keep an existing one by doing your job well and treating your customers well. We have an account for regular visits set up quarterly (I think) but when ever we notice more uninvited guests at the house I set up an appointment and Jason is always there. He does such a good and throughou job and I couldn't be happier. He's also respectful of our house and pets, he also asks how members of the household are doing and makes us feel like we're not just a number and hurrying to move on. As long as Jason works here I will always use this company. read more

Terminix on Maui is the worst. I paid a significant initial fee upfront years ago which was followed by quarterly bills. I paid for 10-11 years. Early in the contract, they were OK, meaning my house didn't have visible signs of termites. After termite droppings were found multiple times and multiple 'spot treatments' were applied AND more new droppings were found, it was agreed that a tenting was needed. Which did take place. Three years later, significant droppings were pointed out to the Terminix personnel who was at my house. I was told that they would get the appropriate people to get in touch to address the problem. I never received a call. I made multiple calls to Terminix in an effort to get someone to address my termite problem. I never heard back. The bills kept coming, but they ignored/abandoned me. Wait, I have heard back. I get a sales call from them once in awhile. AVOID! The worst customer care I've ever experienced. Zero aloha. read more

Started with Terminix over a year ago and it was pretty good (except for the high price!) until my normal guy left and girl took over here. Right off the bat we started getting an increase in ants and cock roaches. She would literally spend less than 10 minutes each time she was here...thats it! Even worse, they "claim" they will come out in between services at no charge if you have a problem with bugs, but when I called they said "oh, we are scheduled to come out in a month so we will just bump up your service and charge you then"!! Had Terminix come out and tent our house in Kihei - they did NOT show up on the day of our contract - we called and they said "High winds" prevented the tenting of our house. Our property manager was at the house that morning and no one showed up to check if winds were too strong - Lie #1; no one showed up and the winds were calm. I called Terminix and they said they would be there the next morning at 8 AM - I had to pay for 1 more night of lodging for our 2 renters. Next morning they showed up at 11 AM - the crew said they were late because they were taking down tenting from the day before - winds were really blowing at 11 AM - Lie #2; tenting was done in Kihei the morning before. They tented in high winds and my renters moved back in the next morning - termite activity seems to have stopped. I got a call from Terminix demanding payment the next day - I said as soon as their invoice was in my hands and I had instructions on how to lodge a complaint against Terminix of Maui and corporate Terminix I would gladly pay - the lady on the phone said no problem. 1 month later no invoice was sent, no instructions on how to lodge a complaint and get the $300 extra in motel charges for my 2 renters. Lie #3; no instructions nor invoice sent. I finally gave up, called them and asked for an invoice to be eMailed to me and I paid that invoice today. They did try to bill me for $2,610.00 when my bid was only for $2,446.87 - they demanded the $2,610.00 payment unless I could prove I was not lying to them about the $2,446.87 - luckily I had a copy of the bid and faxed it to them. Without that bid they would have cheated me out of $163.13 more money - what a bunch of crooks. This is a totally corrupt, incompetent, and a company I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Update: My original review was one star, but I have upped it to 2 because their social media account manager reached out to me to resolve the issue. They double-checked and found that a credit was applied for the wrongly charged bill. -- Terminix is the WORST. We canceled our October service in September, but they have been repeatedly sending me bills for a service we NEVER received. I called customer service three times to resolve the billing issue when they finally had someone from the Maui office call us. The staff at the Maui office was condescending but agreed to put a credit on our account in the amount of the bill. The same day they agreed to put a credit on the account, they sent us another bill! Every quarterly service, terminix tries to schedule the appointment 15-20 days early . That is $110 a year that I should not be paying. I have asked that they stop doing this to no avail. Can you imagine how much extra money they make from all their customers? read more

If you don't want to be swindled, don't give Terminix your money. They hang onto your money whether they provide the service or not. We paid them our annual premium in March 2021, however we sold our house in June 2021. In June 2021 they promised a prorated refund for our unused service, but have never sent the prorated refund. I called after 30 days and spoke with the branch manager, and he said the refund would be sent out at the end of that week. This is the passive-aggressive tactics this company uses - promises something they don't intend to deliver. I've called many times after that and spoken with various customer service representatives, who always make promises, but no one ever calls back or issues the promised refund. They only return phone calls when they think you are a new customer, naive enough to give them money. There are other pest services out there - my review: find a trustworthy one you can trust with your money, not a deceptive one like Terminix. read more

If I could go lower than one star I would. I set up a service on line and scheduled an appointment for 7/2 at 10 am to 12 noon. I received the customary e-mail confirming this. No one showed so I called their customer service number. After 16 minutes on hold, an unknown woman answered saying the system was undergoing maintenance, please called back "periodically" and then she hung up. Next I tried the chat. Even better. She took a long time responding but did. After checking she said my appointment was for 7/29, not 7/2. I copied the e-mail I received from Terminix showing 7/2. Another long wait. She said it was moved to 7/29 due to "too many appointments". I guess they live in a vacuum as nobody told me. I told her to cancel everything as they had not even made their first appointment. You will love her response, "I can't do that via chat, you have to call the customer service number"(the same number I called to get hung up on due to maintenance). I hung up on her chat. They deserve zero stars. Had to give them one to write this. Showed up today with no appointment. My son told them they did not schedule an appointment so we were not ready. Our technician Edwin was told again not to spray our organic garden. He basically ignored that and sprayed anyway. Our garden and all of our soil is now poisoned. Still fighting those termites. Ron the Manager has missed several more appointments. Even has not come to the ones he has set up himself. Now James the Branch Manager in Maui is involved. Although I have in writing that they would come out and tent my condo if I had problems, James now says he will NOT come and tent my building "just for one unit". Terminix were the ones who gave my condo the all clear when I purchased this unit almost two years ago. I've been fighting the things ever since. They do NOT stand by their word. My real estate agent is going to meet with them next week. If that does not work, we have to get a lawyer involved. I hope this review saves someone else from the problems we are having. Follow-up to previous review: to date no call received from Manager 'James'. Does not surprise me though my previous review caught the eye of Terminix 'socialmediasupport' with a link. All I replied was no follow-up to date from Terminix. Also submitted complaint on Terminix webpage that says we will receive a follow-up in one day. Checked acct on Terminix, saw our appt for Sept 16 2016 and left a 'note' for the technician that 'NO ONE SHOWED UP!!!' Extremely poor customer service. Logged Friday Sept 23, 2016 It's been a week since our issue with Terminix began not keeping an appt to treat our property. I've logged 3 concerns: 1. last Friday when no one showed up, 2. via their website that stated one day response turnaround (not) and 3. phone call to one of gazillion numbers related to this company. "Steven" asked that I give them 48 hours (which ends today) to respond. Why should it take this many attempts to get a call back? Only feedback was from their dept that monitors social media saying that "I have forwarded your concern to the local branch manager for follow up. I will also continue to monitor this request to make sure you are contacted and we work towards a resolution". This message was sent 2 days ago. Very, very poor customer service. As of Thursday Sept 29, 2016 we have not heard from the elusive Manager 'James.' I will be reaching out to Terminix tomorrow to log an official complaint. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY SERVICES FROM THIS PLACE!!! If I could chose no stars for this review I would! I currently am renting the house I am in. The owner of the house purchased a packaged with Terminix. We have been having termite problems so we called to have someone come and look at the house. We were told that a technician would come between 9am and 11 am. I took off of work for those three hours and no one showed up! No phone call to say they were running late or not coming. Again I scheduled an appointment and they said they will be at the house between 9 and 11. Once again I took off of work to wait and no show again! I am very upset. I called the Terminix number to speak to a manager and i get someone who is not even at the Wailuku office they are on another island. They gave me the Wailuku number and it redirects me to the same off island operators. The operator took down my number to give to the manager Rick on Maui so we will see if we even get a call from him. Do not waste your time or money on this company! My recent experience with Terminix was good. My Inspectors name was Alex Hancock, he made the entire process very comfortable. He was professional and explained Terminix's programs well. I had initially called to get an overview on the bugs here on Maui . I had recently moved from Washington and after seeing a few unwelcome house guests (namely a large centipede) in our home, I decided to call Terminix to come out. We had used them before in Washington. My inspector was very knowledgeable and after learning we were new to the islands he gave my husband and I a very detailed overview of all the bugs here and types of Termites. We opted to get a pest plan where they come out as often as we want and it has a Termite warranty. It is a very good value. Overall my experience with this company has been wonderful. All my bugs are gone and the inspector Alex has continued to follow up with us and actually rewarded us with $160 off our last bill cycle for a referral we gave him. My only complaint is sometimes when I schedule my visits online the time has been off and they have showed up earlier then I had asked for. Other than that I give them two thumbs up! read more

My experience with the Terminix Department here on Maui was very favorable yesterday. While I have a contract with Terminix for a yearly termite inspection, for the past two scheduled inspections, no one showed up or called to follow-up. I called the Maui Manager yesterday, Ron Buckholtz and explained to him what was happening as far as my inspections go. He came to my home yesterday afternoon and performed the inspection and sprayed the problematic areas. Scheduling was very poor the first 2 of 3 times I used them. They couldn't get it together by phone & online. Way too difficult but I agreed to try one last time, 3rd time worked ok. Then I tried to get them to come out between scheduled service appts because I wasn't seeing results from their treatment & it would take 3 weeks. I cancelled my service with them and getting just as good of results doing it myself. Workers were most pleasant & helpful & that is why I give 1 star. Terrible customer service! The technician never showed up to do our initial spraying. Waited 3 hrs then I phoned them to find out the technician had called in sick that morning. I guess I didn't warrant a call to let me know?? Had to take a second morning off work to meet the technician. The tech was actually pretty good which was the only good news story. I complained about them not calling me to let me know they weren't coming and it was agreed I would get a 15% discount on the next spraying. Manager would not talk to me on the phone about the incident either. Fast forward 3 months and the next spraying occurs. I remind the technician and the person who called to get our credit card info about the 15% discount we are supposed to get. They don't bother applying the discount and bill the full amount. I spend another 20min phone call with them to find out what happened to the discount. They then proposed to give me the 15% off on my next spraying 3 months from now. After putting up a fight they agree to give me the credit back right away. As soon as I got the credit I called to cancel my account. I was very polite about it and said due to poor service I was cancelling. The person receiving my call was extremely rude and didn't say sorry once. She ended the conversation saying she would be transferring my request to another group and they would be calling me. I asked why I had to sit through another phone call to cancel my account and she got mad and pretty much ended the call. So 3 months goes by and I never get a call to confirm the account being cancelled but we do get a notice saying that Terminix will be coming out to do another spraying. Another 20mins on the phone and at last the account is cancelled I don't have to deal with these guys again I hope!!! read more
