    Big fried chicken burrito

This breakfast was okay. My burrito was really dry, bland & not cheesy at all. The tea also tasted weird..

Outstanding service. Place was packed. Food, hot , delicious.... Highly recommend! 1/2 Chicken Dinner.... Perfect. Kids Chicken tenders...Perfect Will definitely go back!

Plain fries. Small portion. No sauce. Weak sauce.

What a rip off. Fries came super plain vs pic, which would be ok if they included ketchup. Nope. How does one eat fries without any sauce? Chicken is slathered in mayo (gross) vs just mayo--probably to hide the lack of hot/spicy from the chicken they dare call NASHVILLE. More like high school cafeteria chicken. Couldn't even finish it. The tenders? Equally horrible. See for yourself. Never again.

Not nearly as good as I'd hoped. I asked the waitress what she thought was the best and she suggested the Swai fish. I'd never heard of it but it was delicious. I was very glad that I ordered it but the sides were mediocre and the biscuit was chewy. If I could have had a double order of the entree and skipped the sides I would have enjoyed my meal much more. But the thing that I'll remember most about this visit was one of the customers. A cute 20 something girl was complaining about her roommates and her boyfriend and her family and she kept talking..... and talking.....and talking and in my head I'm begging this girl to please shut up and stop befouling my meal. But immaturity and stupidity flowed out of this girl like a fountain and after a minute I stopped begging and I started to smile. Because I realized that the girl that I was going home to, was light years from this gal. Wisdom and kindness and tenderness are what come out of my wife's mouth and I was reminded how fantastically blessed a man I am. So to that girl, I want to say "Thank you". You reminded me about how grateful I ought to be and you made my homecoming just a little bit sweeter!

    Tough choice?

Stopped by with fam to get some local chow. WOW! WOW! WOW! We had it all. Blueberry pancakes, with blueberries picked locally. Probably THEE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I, OR MY WIFE, HAVE EVER, EVER, EVER had. Great buffalo chix salad, great deep-fried chix livers, and home-made sweet tea. If you don't stop at this place traveling from the Orlando area to SW Florida, you have only yourself to blame. My kids want me to DRIVE BACK to Arcadia, (we are in Orlando now) JUST to get a bucket of chicken, if it wasn't raining, I might! Funniest part of the whole dining experience was when my 14 year old son went to use the bathroom, and came back to ask, "Should I use the door marked 'Hens' or 'Rooster'....? Still laughing about that one...

First visit to Slims. Got there around noon on a Tuesday and shortly after I was seated there was…read morea waiting line for seating. Looked like most of the guests were locals. Simple concrete block building that reminds me of the old Florida restaurants of my youth. My kind of place. The service was great, My server, Patty, made sure my iced tea was always filled when I was ready. The tea was very good. I tried my usual first visit to a BBQ Restaurant selections. Next time I will try the pork and chicken. I ordered the Lunch combo plate with St Louis Ribs and Brisket. For sides I got the green beans and cole slaw. The ribs were cooked to perfection not over or undercooked, with great flavor. The brisket had great smoke ring and was tender, flavorful and the slices were very good. I also used their spicy BBQ Sauce. It was very good on both of the meats. They also have a sweet BBQ sauce that I didn't try. Now the sides. The Cole slaw was good, but it is a little sweet for me. Now, the green beans. My mama would say, they were undercooked. Not crunchy like I have had in some restaurants, but not cooked like how I like them and how I cook them at home. The meal also comes with toasted garlic bread. If you like good BBQ, and are in the area, I recommend you give them a try. I drove an hour each way to visit and as far as I am concerned, the trip was well worth it.

We went back again this evening! My husband ordered a taco salad with brisket (we did not realize…read morethere would be a $7 up charge for certain meats) and I asked for a loaded potato with pulled pork on it. I used to order this often back where we lived. It was called a pig in the patch. It was delicious and I ate every bit of it! The place was filling up but the waitresses were on top of their game! We will still be back!
