The smell of jasmine hits you as soon as you're in the parking lot. It's so pleasant and inviting. I really enjoyed walking through the garden. Each area is filled with whimsical ceramics, and running fountains that bring tranquility. This place has everything you need to start gardening. I especially enjoyed walking through the store. We were looking for very specific statuary, flowers and succulents, and thanks to Yelp for directing us to this amazing oasis of all things green and beautiful. Living here in Goleta I did not know of Terra Sol, and so it was a much welcomed surprise to walk into their lush green space. Their staff was very helpful in directing us towards the different areas of plants, statuary, pottery, fountains, and also to their well stocked areas of garden tools, soils, and pretty much everything you need to help keep your garden and outdoor areas green and colorful. And all very reasonably priced. And for those of you wanting to start a Zen Garden, their selection of Buddah Statues, Fountains, and Pagoda Lanterns is a great place to start. The workers are all wearing masks and very friendly. There is a plethora of street parking on Overpass. The place is sectioned and labeled clearly between what types of plants you'll find. The worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life. I have been there on a Sunday and they were busy and they were rude and dismissive but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't get upset. I went there today MONDAY there was no body else's except maybe 2 other customers and the lady was extremely rude disrespectful dismissive and if I have more words to describe I would that's how bad my experience was. I live in Santa Barbara and will NEVER EVER recommend or go back to a place where people usually go to buy plants that makes them happy not getting a bad experience and go back home upset I hope maybe they hire better people that actually care about people and plants and show it. read more

One of my favorite plant nurseries every!! They have so many plants from ghost pepper to house plants. Anything you can think of, they have it. So be prepare to spend about an hour to fully look through everything they have. They also sell ceramic pots and soil for your plants. So many plant shops in town, but these people are something quite special. All the beautiful Italian and Mexican pots and enormous succulent selection are what most people come for, but Ive found that they have the biggest selection of actual native narrow leaf milkweed in town! The tropical milkweed sold in most nurseries is actually harmful long term to the monarch population at Terra Sol they care enough to stock up on the health choice for our local monarchs. read more

Drove all the way from Santa Maria one of my favorite nurseries apparently not anymore!!!!! I was walking by the front of the garden register and coughed I end up having to spit should not be a big deal it is a garden nursery. I spit into the rocks on the floor and the person behind the register the lady decided to make a loud comment and said you that's gross. I asked her I said excuse me and she said that was gross and I said what did you want me to do I had to spit it's a nursery there's dirt ground rocks I spin into the rocks she told me that there's a trash can or a dumpster around the corner that I could have went and spit in. I tried to keep my cool and just started walking away. I Saw her standing there laughing with a lady at the register I walked up to her and asked her to talk to the manager knowing that she was already talking to one. Apparently it wasn't the manager it was the owner i believe name was Nancy. I asked if she was the owner she said she was I asked if she knew what had happened and she said yes as she was laughing about it I asked if she thought it was funny that she told one of her customers to go out and around the back of the building and spit in a dumpster and she said that it was gross and yes that she said that I should have went and spit in the dumpster. If you have a problem with somebody spitting you should keep your mouth shut. You don't know there health problems. You DONT even know me but yes laugh at a disabled Man that has health issues. Yes laugh at him with the owner funny right tell him to go to to your back dumpster to go spit!!! Customer service definitely is not what this nursery is about. I drove all the way down from Santa Maria too Buy the plants for the rest of my cactus garden from here and to think this is what I get. Gonna have the drive down the street to LA SUMIDA nursery. I recently needed to repot a plant and had the good fortune to choose Terra Sol for my shopping needs. Iziah was so kind and helpful and took great care with my dracaena that is no longer root-bound. Terra Sol is so lovely and has such a nice vibe; it was easy to wander and find a new plant for the empty pot my dracaena had occupied. Thank you to Claire for encouraging me to grab that cute little elephant food plant and for repotting my new plant family member. I had such a nice time so a few days later I decided to go back and get a ponytail palm which I've been wanting for some time now. A huge shout out to Josh who gave me a horticulture lesson while carefully untangling the roots of the palm. So cool to learn a bit while watching him turn the sweet plant into 4 little ones I was then able to gift to a few friends. I love this plant nursery. I come at least once a week to get my weekly plant fix. It can be really peaceful walking through their nursery. I probably have 30+ plants just from here. All of the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The owner Mike truly cares for this nursery as all the plants look healthy and happy. Lots of the plants are at reasonable prices as well. I don't feel like I'm breaking the banks getting a few plants here and there. If you have a specific plant you're looking for, the staff can put in an order for you and have it delivered in n the next week or so. One of the most unique nurseries in the area. I love coming here. Terra Sol has one of the best selections of drought-tolerant vegetation that I've come across. Walking through this nursery has given me inspiration to tackle a few water-wise landscape transformations in my own yard. The venue is very large and I enjoy the various sections. There's a cat roaming the grounds on occasion and there is a large cage with a menagerie of small pet birds. Pretty neat. I've found Terra Sol to offer some of the freshest plants at pretty competitive rates. The grounds are very well maintained and you can find multiple workers watering or caring for the plants on a given day. The staff behind the register are very knowledgeable and I've been able to utilize some of the tips they'd provided. Came here for our first DIY succulent terrarium and this place did not disappoint!! The employees were so cheerful and sweet. We got succulents for such a reasonable price. They were all like 2-6 bucks depending on the size. My cute little bonsai one was only 2.99!!!!! We also bought rocks and glass to top our "garden" the white rocks are highly recommended and they were only $1/lb !! They also had cactus soil for only 4 bucks a bag. I highly recommend going here instead of going to a "plant-nite". This is so much cheaper!! read more

Terra Sol is an absolute gem of a nursery. They always seem to have a great selection of different plants that are often difficult to find at other nurseries. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable about what they have and what they're able to get. They often are able to get in a greater variety of plant than what they carry (which is already a lot). Most of the time, though, I don't have to do a special order because they already have what I'm looking for. The plants are of high quality, and the prices are comparable to other places in the area. I wish I lived in Santa Barbara just to be close to this nursery. Terra Sol has a huge selection of affordable succulents and indoor plants, including interesting varieties that I can't seem to find in any other nursery. They also have really cute garden decorations (miniature ceramic mushrooms? yes please!) We bought several succulents and a "sensitive plant" (Mimosa pudica) that closes its leaves when touched. We were looking for 2 fountains and unfortunately purchased from a shop in Reseda. What a HUGE mistake! Their fountains were old, never set up properly nor cleaned as promised, and parts were missing. After 3 months, we realized what a mistake we had made. This company was a nightmare to deal with. AND THEN, we remembered Terra Sol Garden Center. We had forgotten how wonderful Mike, Fernando, and staff are at Terra Sol Garden. They can get you any fountain that you might want, and they have excellent service. Sometimes you might have to wait longer, but you need to remember that a fountain is a big investment. If it starts out as garbage as those from Reseda, then nothing can be done to remedy the problem except throw away the mistakes and start over. We are planning to have the Reseda fountains removed to the dump and will find what we need at Terra Sol. This is a very small community along the coast, and we need to remember to support the good guys, which Mike, Fernando, and crew are those people. Thank you, again, for helping us resolve this huge problem we created for ourselves. You are the solution, and your graciousness is so appreciated in these changing times. read more
