One is .5 mile up to a high point and the other is a 1.6 loop. No dogs are allowed in the park or in the trails for their safety. Bathrooms are available at the entrance. The playground area is separated into two sections. The sections are age appropriate and super challenging and fun for children. The equipment is clean and has the appearance of being well maintained. The park is not shaded so I don't recommend coming in the middle of the summer. Fall, winter and spring will provide lots of fun.

This place has a good trail system encompassing about two and a half miles with multiple cutbacks and side trails and they've even got a water access for fishing. The scrub forest was fantastic and this park is at a higher elevation than most area around it so the views were pretty cool especially looking down onto Lake Apopka. I loved my experience here, and they've got nice clean bathrooms in the parking lot available for your use.

Kewannee Park is located in the Indian Hills subdivision near S. R. 436 in Casselberry. This six acre park has the typical amenities you would expect to find. There is a large pavilion with picnic tables,, basketball court, playground, exercise stations, jogging path, restrooms, and pier. My favorite part of the park however is in the back where there is an elevated boardwalk that takes you through the woods. At the entrance to the trail I spotted a red-shouldered hawk. Across the street from the park is a stormwater pond that cleans the water in the Cassel Creek Watershed before it flows through Lake Kewannee and Howel, on to Lake Jessup, the St. John's River, and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Kewannee Park also serves as a trailhead to Kewannee Trail which runs along the north side of the park which runs 1.7 miles between Oxford St. and Cassel Creek Blvd. I love the recreational options and natural beauty of this park. Kewannee Park is the ideal destination for hiking, fishing, picnics, and play. The peaceful and relaxing atmosphere along with the well-maintained facilities make this a great destination for area families.

Lake Eola Park -- A Downtown Orlando Gem with Food, Wine, and Heart…read more On February 23rd, 2019, my wife and I attended the 11th Annual Downtown Food & Wine Fest at Lake Eola Park, and it was the kind of day you want to bottle up and relive. Set in the heart of downtown Orlando, this park blends natural beauty with city energy in the best way. The festival featured over 30 local restaurants and 50 different wines, and while I can't remember every bite, I know there was some mouthwatering BBQ and more than a few samples that made us pause and savor the flavor. We wandered from booth to booth, sampling, sipping, and taking in the perfect February weather -- sunny skies, a light breeze, and that unmistakable buzz of a city coming together to celebrate food and community. Music from Mix 105.1 and 105.9 added to the festive atmosphere, and there were tons of freebies, local vendors, and handcrafted goods to explore. We even snapped a few photos -- the setting was just too pretty to pass up. Swans gliding across the lake, the iconic Walt Disney Amphitheater in the distance, art scattered throughout the park, and the Orlando skyline rising just beyond the trees -- it felt like the city was showing off a little. And honestly? It had every right to. Lake Eola Park is more than just green space -- it's an experience. Whether you're here for a festival or a quiet walk, there's something grounding and special about being in the middle of downtown and still feeling completely at ease. It is in a quiet, unassuming neighborhood that lies in the shadow of Camping World Stadium and is just off of West Gore Street. This is not a big park by any means. However, they truly utilize their limited space and make it a pretty wonderful park. It is located on a lake and it has a very attractive view of that lake. I enjoyed standing up the dock and looking out at the water, I also enjoyed walking over the bridge. The park has a few pavilions to enjoy, as well as a playground for children. A park truly helps to find a neighborhood and gives that community a place to gather in both recreation and rest. This particular park truly serves this neighborhood in a wonderful way.

A very friendly park…read more The George Barker Park is named after a former city commissioner and is tucked away in a quiet neighbor of Orlando. It became a park back in 1968 but was extensively renovated in 1996. The park sits on the shores of Clear Lake and has a very convenient boat ramp for anyone wanting to fish or just mess around on the lake. The water is beautiful and surrounded by cypress trees and huge aquatic birds and the park also has some nice hoop courts, a volleyball pit and several nice pavilions for picnics and gatherings. The park is definitely a very scenic and pleasant place but what really got by attention was how friendly all the people in the park were. As we were walking around virtually every single person said hello to us and we were even offer some fried chicken from a family picnic. No one asked us what we were doing there or looked at us funny. Everyone in the park was having a good time and were also watching out for everyone else.. There are lots of parks in the world, some are nice, others not so nice. Some are beautiful others not so pleasant to look at. But what really makes a park are the people you meet. George Barker is a neighborhood park but the people welcome everyone. Other parks might be larger or more scenic or more historic but you will not find a park anywhere with nicer or more friendly people. That alone is worth five stars.
