Know for some of the best seafood on lbi we were excited to eat here- yelp had wrong address on maps. It's 13201 lb blvd beach haven terrace. It was good, not the best I've ever eaten. Service was super friendly -I find that mostly on lbi. It is not byob which most places are and they make killer drinks! Had a local feel and makes even the weekender feel welcomed. Wouldn't go back as two other places for seafood that blew it away, but did enjoy! read more

First time i came here was off season, during the chilli/chowder week and tried the sweet potato chowder. Very interesting a little spicy. Today i ordered a soft shell crab(I've been eating crabs all my life) and first time i ever tried one and it was decent. Not my favorite thing because it's frustrating to eat, just get some plain blue claws with a side of onion rings if you want some breading. Along with a lb of dunny and a lb of snow crabs, the dunnies were terribly salty but the snow crabs were perfect. Maybe try using less water, unless these were already boiled crabs and they were getting reboiled. read more

Super weird. We stopped in at night for a couple of drinks. This place looks like an old school diner that was converted into a bar. It was strange that they were stamping your hands here when you went in. Not really the type of place that I would like to hang out for long. We only stayed for a drink or two before moving on. Draught beer was more expensive than it should be, but I imagine that prices are jacked up a bit all over the island. This place is within walking distance from our beach house, and I love its lively atmosphere. I also really adored a dish they had on the menu: linguine with garlic clams and shrimp. (I have fantasies about this dish, and literally ordered it EVERY SINGLE TIME we went to Terrace Tavern.) They recently changed the menu, and it's no longer an option. I am missing it! I have enjoyed other dishes here, and they are above average, but why mess with a good thing, that pairs so well with Sauvignon Blanc? Please, Terrace Tavern, bring my linguine back! read more

Had dinner at the Terrace Tavern Crabshack during the summer 2015 and can't wait to go back this year when we visit LBI again. I ordered the Barnegat Light Sea Scallops and got them Matecumbe style - fresh tomatoes, shallots, basil, capers, olive oil & lemon juice Lemon - a great recommendation by the waitress, delicious! Started next door at Delaware for oysters but since we were looking for a table for 4 they suggested this place next door (same ownership) The looks outside and in are a little cartoon-ish/industrial/Diner thing... Anyway its comfortable and looks to have been updated recently. The service was fantastic. Prompt, helpful, and attentive. We ordered the Fried pickles ( might be the best ever), dozen oysters ( very fresh although they only carry one kind), fried bay scallops (Awesome), broiled bay scallops ( outstanding), fish fingers (kids meal) was surprising good, nothing frozen here. Drinks, beers, iced teas were all flawless. Price-point was very reasonable (Its LBI) Due to all of the hard surfaces, I'm sure this place gets really noisy (it was not too busy when we were there) so be warned at peak time. Not good. Took quite some time to get service in an empty place on a Thursday at 4. Ordered the pretzel app, pizza, wings and clams casino. The pretzel was hard for ten bucks and the dipping sauce was a weird texture that lacked flavor. The wings were on a special 6 for 10 and looked like they had been sitting out. For that happy hour special price I was convinced they would be phenomenal. They were rubbery and not very flavorful also I was shocked to overhear we could have gotten 10 for nine bucks but they were hardly edible anyway. The clams casino were pretty good. The pizza was ok too but hardly worth the 14 bucks they charged. Waitress was nice but we wont be back. Overall not enjoyable. read more

The food here is solid. It has a fun vibe to it and is very kid friendly. Last time we came, we ordered the Nachos with crab meat (which I would not order again). Personally not my style of nachos- did not like the melted cheese they used, some type of tomato paste and black beans. The crab meat though was fresh, so that was a plus. For dinner my husband, got a lobster which he thoroughly enjoyed and was cooked well. The sides were nothing special. Everything basically just doused in butter. I ordered the Halibut special which was once again covered in butter and over cooked. The roasted potatoes were hardly roasted at all and the fish was over cooked. I would go back here again however I would order something more basic from the menu, not a special. Also, nothing with marinara sauce it really lacked flavor and tasted more jarred than anything. Food was excellent and service was good. Made a reservation for 9 and table was set up in bar. We were offered two tables in dining area if we thought bar was too noisy. We graciously accepted. The only draw back was we were at two tables instead of one. No problem. Half the party was seated while the rest of the party was shortly behind us. Hostess/manager was uptight about entire party not being present and gave away our table. She did give us a new table but it was very stressful and unpleasant to keep watching her walk by and know she was annoyed. I've experienced this issue before here. Food was great. Drinks were expensive and very weak. Watch out for the 20% gratuity tacked onto bill. Would rather make that decision myself. Overall, good food but overpriced. read more

We'd driven past this place for years but after looking at their menu we decided this time around we'd give it a try. It was a Saturday evening in late September and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was interesting and almost like a night club with a similar volume. After perusing through the drinks menu we decided to try some of their beer cocktails. While they were delicious, we later came to find out that they were $8 each (the price wasn't listed on the menu). I understand cocktails are pricey and will willingly pay but for mixing beers I'm not so sure the price is warranted. For food we ordered the conch fritters for an appetizer and the mahi mahi wrap and fried seafood combination platter. The fritters arrived quickly but were mostly filler and served only with cocktail sauce. They were just plain, "ehhh". The fried seafood and wrap were fresh and tasty but definitely nothing new. Not sure we'll be back but not for anything in particular just a slightly above mediocre experience at a slightly above expected price. read more

Not our first time here - we've been here many times before. Server, Carllie, very friendly and attentive... excellent service! We ordered new England clam chowder, and wish it would've been served hot. Sent it back (which is not like us) - it was just too life luke-warm. among other things, ordered the broiled seafood platter.Overall, seafood fresh and delicious. Fresh streamed Asparagus side was cooked perfectly Also wish that seats were a little more comfortable to sit in - that back bars press into you almost the entire time sitting in them. This restaurant is delicious with a fun, lively energy and great wait staff. Driving by I always thought this was just another hole in the wall, but after giving it a shot I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it! We brought a 3 year old around 9PM and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We ordered the crab bisque, mussels in garlic sauce, crab cakes and king crab legs. Everything was amazing, fresh and served perfectly. The crab cakes come with corn on the cob and roasted potatoes that went so well together. Out of all the restaurants I've eaten at on the island over years, this was by far the best. You must check it out! read more

Our experience started with a very friendly hostess who sat us outside without a reservation. This was a pleasant surprise coming from snobby Hamptons where you're sneered at when you try to walk into a restaurant without a rezy. Kids menu was plentiful which I love! I hate when the kids menu only has pasta with butter, Mac & Cheese & Chicken Fingers. There was a steak option, shrimp, and the usuals. I was unsure of what to order for myself bc everything sounded so tasty and the waitress made a great recommendation, (which was not the most expensive item on the menu). She combined an appetizer & small plate and it was perfect! Loved it! Finally, my kids were disappointed bc I thought we ate too much to order dessert. So our waitress had the perfect compromise: an ice pop for everyone! (And She checked with me privately before offering.) We will definitely be back! read more

Delightfully, delicious, delicacies are what's in store for you when you step foot into this homey establishment! Some fabulous friends to be made of the staff there who cater to the customer with careful charisma, and fabulous fancy. Saucy specials that will keep me coming for years above the normal lifespan! my body and soul are all in on this sassy ol' tavern with its hips that do not lie and its eyes as blue as the Caspian Sea. I myself had the true honor of tasting their tantalizing soft shell crab po' boy. The crustacean itself was crisp yet the taste of the soft shell itself was not lost on my lucky lil' tasty buddies (who were thanking me all evening long ;) )!! I also had the pleasure of sampling their raw bar with an order of 6 clams and 6 oysters which were (not unlike those pesky little ninja turtles) on a half shell. I enjoy my oysters with a bit of slurp on them but these were rather dry.. which is not a bad thing!! just a personal preference of mine. my compatriots at the table with me had the pulled pork (which for a Seafood establishment was absolutely fantastic) and the king crab legs, which rolled in that good old bay sauce was to die for my friends! thank you for a wonderful meal hope to see you again! Not bad overall but I have a few comments. Totally sucks to have one toilet for women's bathroom. It's 5 pm, not really that busy and I've been watching women (some with children) waiting for the bathroom. Also, the chairs suck because they're uncomfortable and you cannot hang your purse on them. Clearly, a male owner/designer didn't put much thought into some small (but important) details. I also hate when a restaurant only allows the happy hour specials at the bar. . We had great appetizers and meals at the Terrace Tavern. Great Wait staff, which were friendly and attentive to us throughout the meal. The lobster Mac and cheese was the best ever, with huge chunks of lobster in a nice sauce, with a delicious crunchy topping. Their version of crab bisque was very creamy and flavorful. All our meals were very tasty. I tried one of their dinner specials, a tuna steak with a garlic butter sauce, which was cooked to perfection. Another dinner special that was tried at our table was spinach and artichoke halibut. The halibut was broiled, but still maintained a juicy and delectable flaky texture. I would definitely recommend the Terrace to everyone to try. We went on a Sunday night, which offered entertainment after dinner hours in the tavern area. A great spot on LBI! read more

A fun seafood place with lots of options and friendly staff. The Good: Food was delicious and fresh. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive and answered our questions like she truly cared. There are a bevy of fun, summer style drinks. We got "The Feast" steampot and it was not only fun to eat, but super delicious. The Bad: The steampot seemed slightly expensive ($50 or so) for the amount of food we got. I thought we'd have trouble finishing it, but we had no issue between the two of us. That's pretty much it. I am only giving this place 3-stars based on the limited choices of seafood. Being a bar environment, I assumed there would be more fried fish options and there wasn't. The place is not big and there is a bar so be prepared to dine surrounded by loud noise. Other than that, the food was good. Our table started with mussels (white) and the fried calamari. It was very good. I also tried the tuna poke special. The tuna was delicious. It is appetizer-size but I would have very much appreciated having this as a traditional poke bowl. I chose the snow crab pot for dinner. Seafood was superb with the exception of the shrimp which were slightly overcooked. My kids enjoyed tasting the different types of seafood with all of the sides. The pot can feed at least 2 adults and 2 kids. It needs to be shared. I'm sure the other pots are just as good. This is definitely a great place for families with young children. read more
