My family has come here plenty of times for happy hour and dinner but for the first time we had brunch here and it was a great time! We had a large group but they accommodated us very well. The brunch menu is very extensive so it was hard to choose what to order but I decided on ordering a build your own omelette: spinach, mushroom, onion and feta. The home fries were a great side dish. Of course had to wash it down with a coffee (they were great at refilling our mugs). We will definitely be back! read more

Very smart looking restaurant nestled alongside the dunes of Spray Beach. Lovely setting but unfortunately, can't see the ocean. Food was fine. Wings were tasty but an incredibly small portion. We asked for the celery that the menu said came along with them and were told that they "no longer do that." Huh. Ok. Blackened mahi sandwich was good but by no means blackened. In fact, no real seasoning at all. Burgers were fine; just fine. One thing I found pretty odd was their plates. Everything came on a small tin tray. And when I say small, pretty much akin to the trays of food you get on an airplane. I guess an attempt to make the portions look larger. Not sure. Draft beers were good and cold. Kinda odd that on a summer weekend they were out of both strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas, but I guess that can happen. Service was average. Took awhile for our server to come over and while she was sweet, she wasn't the most efficient. Food came without us having silverware or napkins. There were no condiments - we had to ask. If you are on the beach near Drift or within walking distance, pleasant enough to give a try. But don't think I'd suggest a special trip. read more

The Drift Bar is a beautiful space, but unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say about it. The service was awful -- the bartenders were more interested in chatting with their friends who came to visit than serving customers. It was nearly impossible to get a drink, even while sitting at the bar. As for the food, my husband ordered the crabcakes, which were a total letdown. $20 for three tiny bites served on a metal tray with zero presentation (see photo). For that price, you'd expect at least a garnish or something that shows a little effort. It's clear the focus here is more on style over substance. We had been excited to try this place since the remodel! We went on a Friday night - there was live music until around 8 pm. Great indoor and outdoor seating and vibe. They were slammed - our service was very bad but they were very under staffed. Our drinks that we started with were awful - lacked flavor and alcohol. We then ordered a bottle of wine and it came out warm. We asked for an ice bucket but it never came so we used ice cubes from our water cups. We started with the mussels appetizer and loved them! The sauce they were in was a little spicy and they were steamed perfectly. We also loved the mozzarella pizza and the watermelon salad! The items we did not enjoy were the clam pizza (it was dry and came out cold) and the poke bowl. Would probably go back to the bar area for happy hour - definitely not for dinner. read more

The best part about this place was the view from the outdoor dining area - it overlooks the beach, but still has a covering in case it rains. The music was a little loud which made it hard to hear conversation. The food was good but nothing special. Typical beachy menu. I was a bit disappointed with the drinks. The drinks menu seemed to have interesting options, but they were not the most well balanced or delicious when they arrived. Service was great - our food came out pretty quickly and the waitress was very attentive. It is also worth mentioning that the prices were rather high, but that tends to be the norm at similar trendy beachy restaurants. HEY CHEF!!!! PLEASE USE SEASONING!!!! Every single dish my husband, daughter and I had tonight had zero seasoning except for the salt we had to use! My Blackened Mahi Mahi dinner and my husbands fish special had ZERO flavor in it. My daughters Tuna steak was over cooked and the only thing that saved it was the flavor in the soy glaze The one and ONLY THING we would recommend is the Tuna Poke Tacos appetizer. Drinks were ok, but served in ""Miller Lite" pint glasses, in the dinning room...so classless! Sorry, but probs won't be back for dinner, maybe just drinks at the bar. I'd give 2.5 but definitely not three stars. First time visit after coming to LBI for 12 years and I was not impressed. Made a reservation for my family of 5 for 4:15. Seated promptly only to end up next to the bar with 15+ obnoxious golfers telling putting war stories. Completely ruined any sort of experience. Meanwhile the entire restaurant was empty. Seating made no sense, when it's my wife and 3 kids under 11. Burgers were fine, drinks and apps were fine. I ordered the battered cod (fish and chips let's not be pretentious) and I threw them out. Literally fish sticks. Soggy tasted and smelled strongly of fish (that's bad) and I did not want food poisoning so right in the bin. French fries were pretty good though and the servers were good and apologetic. Have to say I will not be coming back again and I recommend everyone else stays away. We visited June 30th to July 3rd. I'm honestly writing this review on how amazing the two outside beach bar bartenders were. I believe one of their names were carly? and the other i cannot remember but * she was just as astounding and so in control * but they were personable and just relatable, made us drink there way more than what we had intended on because of the older one- i forget her name but freckles and just great aura. The third night we had gray or grey? She was amazing as well and went out of her way to make us happy. We believe that it is so much harder in this industry to get a good review rather than a bad one so we made sure to write this because it is deserved. Come here for good drinks, vibes, and as our bartender said the chicken quesadilla. read more

This is the first season drift had been here. Mediocre at best. They bought and painted the doors and started charging a lot more. I parked in the lot then was told it was only for people staying at the inn there, not for restaurant users. Had to park on the street which was a traffic jam and the neighbors there were territorial about exactly where. We had to move twice. The service and the staff were good but who wants to the headache after paying so much. read more

First time here since new owner. The restaurant was bright and nicely decorated. We ate lunch outside on the patio. Both enjoyed out meals. Service was good. Prices very reasonable. Nice atmosphere. Only drawback is that there aren't many parking spaces allocated to the restaurant. read more

Was very excited to try the new bar that was redone over the winter. as someone who works in the restaurant industry, i was absolutely baffled by the two bartenders, maureen and ava. i have never gotten such horrible service with my two friends. i recommended us to go to this place as i've had a great experience in the past. waiting 10 minutes to get a drink when there was only three other groups at the bar that were already served, waiting an additional 25 minutes to order food, (then the drinks were horribly made) and we waited another 20 minutes for our check while they were restocking. they didn't know how to make specific drinks that are standard such as a 007, or even their specialty cocktail on the menu the summer tea. we wanted to order more food but we were already there for 2 hours so we didn't wanna wait any longer. The bartenders didn't apologize once for their lack of experience or service, they said the check was long due to 'technical difficulties' when you can see the computer and her printing the check in front of you. they didn't look up or check on us once-we had to get their attention every time. it got so bad as we were about to leave two other groups were complaining about waiting for service that the only person who helped them was the bar back who was busting his butt to pick up their slack. i would be embarrassed to have customers laughing and complaining in my face like that and not even acknowledge it. horrible horrible experience, sadly i won't go back unless i know they are not working that shift. food was really good however and the bar vibe was great! read more

We had an awesome experience at Drift Beach Bar & Restaurant this past weekend on a girl's trip. We stopped in for lunch and it was delicious. We had coconut shrimp and oysters for appetizers and both were AMAZING. Oysters were super garlicky (YUM) and the coconut shrimp was delectable. Our entrees were great too, I had peach & burrata over arugula and my mom had cioppino. Both really good. Atmosphere was excellent, our server was lovely, and food delicious. Tuna poke bowl was very small for dinner and the raw tuna which should be served cold, again was another item served warm. Grateful we did not get food poisoning. We came to Drift with a reservation for 3 and were seated promptly. That was the end of the good part. After about 20 minutes, we asked another server if we had a server. She said she would go get us someone since nobody even came over to bring water or take a drink order. Nobody ever came. We then saw a woman who looked like her role was more than server as she was walking around and asking tables how they were doing. I went over and asked her if there was a server for our table and she said that she would get a notepad and take our order. She blamed the delay on the hostess saying that she was seating tables too quickly. She did come over and take our order and bring us water. That was the last time we saw her. A food runner came with our salad and then somebody else arrived with our entrées. A male server finally came out and apologized for his delay and asked if we needed anything. We asked for ketchup and he said he would be right back. That never happened. Never were we checked on to see if we needed more drinks or how our meals were. The food actually was very good but it was hard to enjoy when you had to search for a server for utensils, napkins, and more drinks from the bar. The male server came back and I asked him for a glass of water which took about 10 minutes and then he returned with our check and we paid and left. We have been coming to LBI for years and even on the busiest of nights at most restaurants , we've had pretty good service. I felt the manager should know about our poor experience and I called the next morning. I was told she wasn't in yet and to call back later on. When I called back and asked for "Jess" by name, I was put on hold and left hanging for about 10 minutes so I hung up. I tried calling back again the next day and the phone just rang and rang. I know that r estaurants are still struggling with getting help and being short staffed. However, most of the other tables seemed to receive proper attention and had servers that really were working hard to make sure their guests had a good experience. read more

I really liked the atmosphere and decor. Most apps and the lobster mac were good. Lobster roll was pretty mediocre.

Staff is awesome and this joint is clean! The outdoor bar is always fun. I am impressed with any food I order here, usually seafood dishes. Frozen drinks are nice too. read more
